'Fabricant claimed doctors, nurses and teachers were drinking in their staffrooms after work in the pandemic!'

Yes he shouldn't have said drinking as I don't know any key workers boozing at work. I do know plenty who had cake and takeaways together and weren't arrested or given fpns though. Those tiktok dances! all in ppe what fun and japes.

I don't know a single teacher who did any of that. We were in our gardens sipping gin.

DuncinToffee · 22/04/2022 10:56

And they all had their spouses and interior designers with them.
Keep digging

Is my workplace unique in that if we brought booze in and consumed it, we would be shown the door?

No, but then I’ve never worked in cloud cuckoo land.

When I worked in the NHS we also weren’t allowed to bring family members into the offices due to confidentiality and data protection (people looked the other way on the odd occasion for a child if the parent was literally popping in) before the pandemic so certainly not during or afterwards.

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 11:02

Oh I was the Met would hurry up and fine Johnson for Abbagate. Then he will have to go and Janiie will have to stop her insanely boring repetitive defence of him 🎉(which I am beginning to think she doesn't mean, but is just having a laugh).

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 11:02

Wish not was.

Roussette · 22/04/2022 11:06

Yet another slur on NHS staff Janiie

I have NO idea about tik tok dances even though you bring it up all the ruddy time... but whatever those at the coal face in the NHS did (and I am sure you are referring to a tiny percentage)... is it OK that BJ broke the law? And lied about what he did and didn't do?
Please don't say he didn't know. If he is as thick, stupid and uninformed as that, he should not be in the job. All I know is... if I was an MP I would make sure that I followed every rule to the letter.
BJ didn't. He knew. He encouraged staff to 'let off steam', he oversaw a culture of partying whilst on the job.

The way his support is leaking away, it'll soon just be you as the last man standing... 😂

Tbf I do get tagged on here so if folk don't want my opinion then stop tagging me?

If he goes, then again I won't lose sleep over it I'm just pointing out inconvenient facts. Labour are using bereaved families to manipulate people. Workplace interactions are in no way comparable to restricting visiting in high risk health care areas.

Some of you should try to debate without insults btw. I'm not thick, stupid or boring just because you disagree with me.

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 11:13

Liz Truss. God preserve us.

Fulmine · 22/04/2022 11:13

I wish @JaniieJones could explain just once how the fact that a few of her friends and relatives had a cake in the staffroom after work equates to the person who was responsible for making the rules - and kept popping up to tell us to comply with them - inviting in his spouse, interior decorator and a photographer to a non-essential workplace gathering. Or indeed why it makes lying to Parliament OK.

Fulmine · 22/04/2022 11:16

It's not Labour using bereaved families. It is bereaved families inconveniently popping up of their own volition and making it very, very clear how angry they are at Johnson's conduct. Only Johnson apologists claim to be unable to see the very strong relevance of their position.

Fulmine · 22/04/2022 11:18

I think maybe a tenner on Wallace could be a good investment. Johnson keeps claiming all the credit for such help as we are giving Ukraine, but the general view is that it is actually Wallace who is driving that.

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 11:19

I didn't say you were any of those things. I did say your defence of him was boring and repetitive, because it is. All you do is say the same things over and over. Your slurs against NHS staff are very distasteful too. Also, Labour is not exploiting bereaved families, it is simply expressing what thousands and thousands of them feel. That is the job of politicians, to represent their constituents' views.

Roussette · 22/04/2022 11:21

Labour are using bereaved families to manipulate people

And you are dismissing what bereaved families went through.

Have a read of this.
It actually made me tearful and I'm a tough nut.

Look at the date. How relevant the date is. And you say Labour are using bereaved families? How crass.
This man isn't moving on understandably and Labour are representing what their constituents are feeling.
Unlike the Tories.

'Your slurs against NHS staff are very distasteful too.'

What slurs? I'm an nhs supporter, I've loads of family and friend in the nhs.

I'm pointing out many had cake and takeaways at work in staff areas because that was allowed. Work was different to socialising out of work.

Fulmine · 22/04/2022 11:30

Interesting. There is no post currently showing on this thread that accuses you of being thick. However, I got reported for a post in which I said I did not believe you were thick and therefore that you fully understood the relevance of references to bereaved families. I wonder how that could have happened?

ClaudineClare · 22/04/2022 11:31

I am not going to engage with you any longer janiie as I will end up getting another ban. Just bear in mind that there will be people posting here who stuck to the rules and suffered in a myriad of ways by doing so. That is why so many people are angry and will not move on until that rancid lump of lard is out of office.

Notonthestairs · 22/04/2022 11:34

Eating at work was certainly permitted.

30 people from different departments, family members and randomers plus official photographer and event staff not so much. GinCakeWine

Regardless the writing is on the wall for Johnson. It will be interesting (and/or worrying) to see which candidates get the Con membership approval - and who starts chucking money in to their campaigns.

Roussette · 22/04/2022 11:36

I'm pointing out many had cake and takeaways at work in staff areas because that was allowed. Work was different to socialising out of work

30 of them? With a spouse and a decorator thrown in for good measure?

Have you read that twitter link? That man is not moving on, can you blame him?

@JaniieJones Can you show me where Boris Johnson explained to children that it was fine for them to have birthday parties in May and June 2020 if they did so at school with those who were also at school?

I also stuck to the rules, we all did. We didn't see people in hospitals and we couldn't attend a funeral. Because there was a pandemic and they needed to reduce foot fall in high risk areas.

I also know that friends in the nhs wished colleagues happy birthday in offices and staff areas and ordered takeaways. Which is fine, keyworkers at work were obviously allowed to. I clapped for the nhs, I think it's great so there's no slurs from me.

BJ won in 2019 by a huge majority. Of course Labour will use whatever then can to get him out.

newnamethanks · 22/04/2022 11:41

Just Fabricanting on and on. The more it's said, the more disassociated from reality it feels. There must be a name for someone who constantly builds their own reality around them and vehemently insists everyone else joins in? I don't know what it is, so Fabricanting will do for now.

Roussette · 22/04/2022 11:43

This is about common decency and honesty. I just don't think you get that.

It's about what a huge amount of the general public feel. Not Labour. The polls are about 65% saying BJ lied, so there you go

DuncinToffee · 22/04/2022 11:44

I guess some people just don't care that the PM is a liar and a law breaker.
