What ridiculously pointless extravagant thing would you have if you could?

I'll start.

If I could have anything in the world it would be a chauffeur to take me to work, preferably who didn't speak and tinted windows so I could catch a nap on the way to and from work. Realistically it's probably quicker on public transport! Grin

A wombat sanctuary.
I might need to move house though.

Bells3032 · 12/04/2022 00:44

@sarah13xx don't worry it's not a very practical dream

Sarah13xx · 12/04/2022 00:48

@Bells3032 I just feel the cute goat videos cut those bits out and give them a better rep than they should really be getting 😂

Giggorata · 12/04/2022 00:50

My own stone circle in a clearing in a huge wood.

kokoalemon · 12/04/2022 01:55

I am equally struggling with actually pointless extravagance Grin it’s interesting how many of us jump to actually useful things that are just expensive (and how many are related to housework!).

Mine would be custom jewellery in my favourite metals and stones. Especially earrings and rings. Maybe it doesn’t sound wild but it’s just decoration, and very expensive, and I would commission new pieces whenever I fancy them.

Hedonism · 12/04/2022 07:13

@Belkell that really is the dream! Though I don't mind not having the horses. I'm quite reasonable like that Grin

TabbyMcTatBuskersCat · 12/04/2022 07:15

A brand new pair of socks every time I had to put some on.

MinnieMountain · 12/04/2022 08:11

A 50 meter outdoor heated swimming pool. And an open air shower right next to it.

AndAsIfByMagic · 12/04/2022 08:13

A miniature horse.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 12/04/2022 08:21

Somebody to clean the house and prepare my food.

RosstopherGeller · 12/04/2022 08:25

I want a chauffeur but we'd then need a bigger car. So I'd settle for a parking valet when I'm going somewhere new. They would meet us once I'd driven to the general area.

sqirrelfriends · 12/04/2022 09:08

A housekeeper that does everything, cleans, organises and meal preps.

Gardeningfool · 12/04/2022 09:23

I went to an open gardens event, and someone had a large, beautiful garden, and the highlight was a lovely walled area with a long swimming pool in it, plants all around and a covered area at one end, with space to sit and have a barbecue. The whole vibe was a bit Roman/Mediterranean. So that, really. And enough money to keep it heated all year round, so I could start every day with a swim.

I would love my own apartment, I have an house at the moment but I have to share it with DH, DH is a bit of an horder and not very tidy he seems to be a magnet for clutter, my apartment would be in the city centre about 20 minutes away be decorated beautifully with fluffy carpet and nice decoration and no boy smell. My daughter to be may share it when she wants to escape. I will have access to lots of uber eats stuff like sushi I can't get here but I would also have a beautiful modern stainless kitchen with an island and a big bouquet of flowers weekly on the island.
Ahhh

blinder · 12/04/2022 09:30

I came here to say “One of those sold-out Lidl heated clothes airers.”

WTF is wrong with me.

BadHairDayExpert · 12/04/2022 09:41

I cannot justify 75 pounds on a lemon squeezer that does not even have something to catch the pips but if money was no object then in a different universe I would have objects as art like this one.

BadHairDayExpert · 12/04/2022 09:44

It was designed by Philippe Starck in 1990 btw so obvs there are some people with more money than sense still out there, for it to have been selling for 32 years Shock
Maybe it is a popular wedding present and people have them stuck in a cupboard somewhere.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 12/04/2022 09:46

Housekeeper and chef to cook gorgeous healthy meals. And a gardener.

WindyKnickers · 12/04/2022 09:49

A cute little second home on the coast in a village with a pub and shop nearby. So I could escape any time and get some fresh air and peace.

blinder · 12/04/2022 09:53

Okay so I’ve had a long hard look at myself, and instead of a Lidl heated clothes airer, I would like a horse*.

*said horse must not be aggressive, must fit into my small house, must wait patiently by some steps for me to get on, and must eat leftovers.

BadHairDayExpert · 12/04/2022 10:03

I am now imagining a horse in a flat blinder like my favourite Fifteen Storeys High episode Wink

GlumyGloomer · 12/04/2022 10:05

A cake stand. A posh one, with a full tea set to go with it. Oh, and a chef to prepare my afternoon tea. Better have a big fancy house to eat it in too, and a home gym, personal trainer and private healthcare to mitigate the effects of eating too much cake.

Laska2Meryls · 12/04/2022 10:15

A beach house ( doesnt have to be big but must be modern, open plan with big picture windows ) and perhaps in south Brittany overlooking a rocky coastline with a lighthouse further out and a little sandy cove below .. and a Beach cat to live in it with me ..
Also an EU passport so I can live there ...

HazelBite · 12/04/2022 10:30

A vintage Ford Mustang in the drive!

Sarkymarky · 12/04/2022 10:36

A big good looking but also mean looking body guards in dark suit shades
So people would wonder why I needed said bodyguard
Yeah I know it's shallow
