What ridiculously pointless extravagant thing would you have if you could?

I'll start.

If I could have anything in the world it would be a chauffeur to take me to work, preferably who didn't speak and tinted windows so I could catch a nap on the way to and from work. Realistically it's probably quicker on public transport! Grin

A housekeeper and army of cleaners so I would literally never have to lift a finger when it came to housework!

SpeedofaSloth · 11/04/2022 22:55

An enormous fish tank in the living room. Like, as long as the sofa.

Hawkins001 · 11/04/2022 22:56

Access to use a time machine or a parallel universe traveling machine.
That aside, between £200,000 and £1 million GBP, would enable me to achieve most of what I want to achieve.

Neverreturntoathread · 11/04/2022 22:57

I’d have a giant wildlife reserve. Lots of lions.

Twilight7777 · 11/04/2022 22:59

A hot tub and the cash to run it, as I’m sure the water costs will be extortionate now. Also would like a chef to make me healthy food (3 meals a day) that doesn’t taste like feet. I’m not good at meal prepping so dieting always costs a fortune for me.

Twopocketsgoodfourpocketsbad · 11/04/2022 22:59

Gosh mine is really sad but the first thing that came to mind is: I’d have my own washing machine, drier & iron discretely stashed away when we get round to sorting out the bathroom/dressing room layout.

So they never have to go near the laundry room where stuff disappears for days or in the case of socks, forever

Ibizafun · 11/04/2022 23:02

A fair sized yacht big enough to sail round the world and explore.. with the accompanying crew of course, with my lovely hubby

bettertocryinamercedes · 11/04/2022 23:04

I would like Staff!

Housekeeper - laundry, household stuff
Beautician / hairdresser / masseuse
Chef who also washed up.
Dog walker - for the days I Cba
Gardener

I think that's all? I don't need a butler but maybe the chef could provide drinks after dinner?!?!

TaraRhu · 11/04/2022 23:04

A heated swimming pool.

Pearbear · 11/04/2022 23:04

Buy the million pound house on Rightmove I found right on the beach. It was tiny and totally impractical to live in but the views and the beach access was amazing

DinkBoo · 11/04/2022 23:04

A wood, with a cabin in it, and no fecker else around (DH excepted. Most of the time).

LoveSpringDaffs · 11/04/2022 23:06

ridiculously pointless & extravagant

People are obviously struggling with 'pointless! 🤣

Me too! I can think of loads that's extravagant, but struggling to think of something 'pointless'....

Solasum · 11/04/2022 23:08

A horse to be brought to my door ready to go, so I could go off for a gallop and then come home and not have to do any stable work on.

A door I could open to be at the top of a mountain so I could just put skis on and whizz down.

Fresh flowers in every room.

And 1000x a house keeper.

Belkell · 11/04/2022 23:19

@Hedonism. You’ve reminded me of some friends I used to pet—sit for. (Well, if you can call wrangling 3 horses, 4 dogs and an assortment of rescue cats ‘pet sitting‘)

The lady of the house was very down to earth but also very into Period House and Country Living magazines. The whole place (a beautiful period farmhouse in the country) was absolutely ‘just so‘ with tasteful fresh flower arrangements supplied and sorted by the housekeeper and immaculate gardens thanks to the gardener. A summer house with a daybed and more flowers, all that jazz.

They also had a well stocked wine cellar, an aga, regular ski trips and basically lived the dream, without being massive arseholes. I’d have definitely hated then if they weren’t so dammed … lovely. Bastards

So I want that house .. with the flowers, horses, housekeeper and gardener. Along with Christmas in Zermatt and whatnot.

BruceAndNosh · 11/04/2022 23:24

George Clooney

Spudina · 11/04/2022 23:33

A wooden cabin in the Derbyshire Dales on an amazing site that I love, just for chilling in on weekends. If the kids weren't in blooming activities every weekend.

A580Hojas · 11/04/2022 23:34

A personal chef.

I had a school friend who's parents had massive built-in fish tanks the entire length of the living room. A bit like wardrobes, just all glass & fish.
Muchtoomuchtodo · 11/04/2022 23:44

Someone to style my home. If they could keep it clean and tidy afterwards too that would be wonderful!

MatLeave · 11/04/2022 23:47

All of the above sounds like bliss 🥰 . A girl can dream.

Appalonia · 11/04/2022 23:55

@Hedonism

And also a red panda, please.
Best one yet, they're adorable!
oliviastwisted · 12/04/2022 00:00

A housekeeper and a chef definitely

Biffatcrafts · 12/04/2022 00:08

I'd have someone to gently rub my back at night as I fell asleep, just like my Grandma used to do for me when I was a child. I'm over 60 now, and do sleep well so it would be pointless, but that immense feeling of security, peace and love her touch gave me is something I will always yearn for again.

Bells3032 · 12/04/2022 00:18

Most of what's been said - indoor pool, housekeeper and a private jet.

On the more pointless side definately a heard of goats and a paddock to keep them in (and someone to care for them). They are so so adorable and make me laugh and best stress relief ever is feeding a goat :)

The issue I see here is you’ve casually said a paddock like they’re going to willingly stay in it. I had two goats for a few years there and we’ve just had to pass them onto a more experienced goat-keeper as they would literally climb/walk out of ANYTHING. We couldn’t build a fence high enough to stop them, I swear they’d of burrowed under the ground and walked out like nothing happened if they couldn’t get over it. Never seen anything like it! Not to ruin your dream or anything but you’d maybe just have them in the paddock for the afternoon then they’d go off and do their own thing 😊
