What ridiculously pointless extravagant thing would you have if you could?

I'll start.

If I could have anything in the world it would be a chauffeur to take me to work, preferably who didn't speak and tinted windows so I could catch a nap on the way to and from work. Realistically it's probably quicker on public transport! Grin

Chef.

DreamingOfTowels · 11/04/2022 16:44

Please could I have all of the above?

notawittyname1954 · 11/04/2022 16:45

I would love a chauffeur and a chef. I want one of those galleried landings with a book case all the way round. and I'd like to be able to teleport

josie95xxx · 11/04/2022 16:45

A housekeeper, a chauffeur, and a house with a swimming pool, and someone to look after the pool

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 11/04/2022 16:46

An island, either in a Loch or off the West coast. I’d build an eco house and enjoy the peace.

desiringonlychild2022 · 11/04/2022 16:46

I would build a whole block of luxury apartments in Highgate/East Finchley/Muswell Hill and live in the penthouse apartment (which has 3/4 bedrooms). There would be underground parking, a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna, communal gardens with children's play area (perhaps with a few private plots for residents to grow vegetables and relax in), concierge and a full cleaning service (that you can opt into). WFH office space on the ground floor for residents' use. I would rent/sell the rest of the apartments.

I would like a chauffeur too but only on the weekends as I like using public transport (could probably just use Ubers tbh but its not as convenient to get a Uber with a baby). Don't really need a chef as DH likes cooking. Would probably like a nanny for future DC but the nanny would be live-out.

Admittedly I probably need to be a billionaire for this :) I don't care about yachts or multiple homes (i like hotels in all honesty and no maintenance), what i value is convenience. The problem with serviced apartments/condo living is generally the hefty service charges that come with it (hence why I bought a 1930s walk up apartment as a 20 something), but if you are the freeholder with control over costs and also able to share it with other residents as well plus can afford it, then why would you choose a villa on Bishops Avenue over it?

TokyoSushi · 11/04/2022 16:49

The sort of housekeeping service that you have in a 5* hotel. So somebody who comes in every day and does something like beds, bins, towels, dishwasher, quick hoover, feeds animals etc. However they're a bit magic and can do it all in the 15 minutes that I'm on the morning school run so I come back to a lovely tidy house ready for the day ahead!

An indoor swimming pool. Bliss Smile

elp30 · 11/04/2022 16:59

@TortugaRumCakeQueen

A live-in masseuse. But one that would play with my hair at 9pm, or rub my feet. To get me all sleepy for bed. LOL.

Omg, YES!

MakeSureYouHoldYourNose · 11/04/2022 17:38

Some of these are great. I think I also need the blow dries but daily would do me lol.

A dental hygienist to brush and floss my teeth for me. Twice a day.

Furrbabymama87 · 11/04/2022 19:52

Back/ foot - tickler/ massager. One that doesn't moan about it or get tired arms.
Personal chef.

britneyisfree · 11/04/2022 19:54

@AchillesPoirot

A housekeeper. To do all the cleaning and the house admin type stuff.
That's not pointless. It would be life changing, for me anyway.
MakeSureYouHoldYourNose · 11/04/2022 20:26

@notprincehamlet this would be on my list too!

Indoor heated swimming pool! Full size so I can do laps but also has a like jacuzzi setting yes i know they're frowned upon on here but my back could do with the massaging action

MinglingFlamingo · 11/04/2022 22:38

Oh yes as pp have said someone to manage and maintain the aforementioned pool as well

catfunk · 11/04/2022 22:41

A live in masseuse, hair stylist and dental hygenist.

Leggingslife · 11/04/2022 22:44

Mr whippy machine

MinglingFlamingo · 11/04/2022 22:46

Could I also have a ladies maid like Anna in Downton Abby who does my hair, makeup and helps me get ready in the morning. Perhaps she could be a professional stylist so she knows what goes with what and what clothes I should wear

Yes I know that sounds shallow

thistimelastweek · 11/04/2022 22:47

Personal shopper.

As in, 'you know what I like to eat/wear/watch/read ' so get out there and find it for me.

Boomerwang · 11/04/2022 22:47

I'd have a machine that made a twin of me which went to work and did chores for me while I do whatever I want.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 11/04/2022 22:48

Mummyford I bet you wept buckets when she left.

I obviously want what Mummyford

But as for pointless extravaganza I'd have some of Carrie's wallpaper.

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/04/2022 22:49

Original sketches and watercolours by Louis Icart, lots and lots.

Hedonism · 11/04/2022 22:52

Yes to the swimming pool, and someone to look after it. I don't think that would be pointless though.

Also a summer house at the bottom of the garden, with a day bed and wild flowers in tasteful jugs (think Country Living magazine). I would of course need a house / garden large enough to accommodate the swimming pool and summer house.

Hedonism · 11/04/2022 22:53

And also a red panda, please.
