Emma Bunton’s mum?! She’s only 5 years older than Emma Bunton!!

MargaritasOnMe · 10/04/2022 06:24

I think she does look good to be fair. Also I think that callum chap is quite attractive too, but then I do love a geeky guy so maths teacher appeals! Unlucky for him though, I'm married (and definitely not attractive!) Grin.

Burnittotheground · 10/04/2022 06:27

It's obviously a wind-up and written for money. Certainly it has done wonders for her profile. Most DM articles written by women are tongue-in-cheek. I have a friend who writes for them; nothing she says is really serious.

I think she looks nice now as a brunette. Clearly a lot of airbrushing but overall a very attractive woman.

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 10/04/2022 07:07

It's all done for clicks. I do think she looks good in the latest pictures though.

Margot78 · 10/04/2022 08:45

But I’ve read the article and the word “jealous” isn’t even mentioned. I think it’s a lot more measured than her original article which was of course designed to provoke reaction.

These comments stood out for me:

“ But I still contend that I looked fabulous. Tummy, dress, hair and all, I loved the 41-year-old me.

I have laughter lines, my cheeks are sagging and there are fine lines on my decolletage. Of course there are! They are a sign of a life well-lived.

I can see how far there is to go in raising young women who believe in themselves and are proud of who they are physically, mentally and emotionally.”

I like these sentiments and to be honest the new article had a positive impact on me. OK as a mum on minimum wage I’m unable to afford nice clothes or get my hair done so I probably look a bit tired but I read this and realised I probably need to be more forgiving of myself and positive about others. Don’t let the crap in her original article make you miss the important points she makes in this one.

@GiantHaystacks2021

Never saw it myself. She's very ordinary looking, for someone who thinks that there's no-one like herself. She has a Geri Halliwell nose too, which swings off to her right and she has recessed teeth. That long hair does nothing for her.
I think you have just proved her point about women running each other down. She stresses repeatedly that she’s not the most perfect woman but she’s embracing the aging process by being healthy and feeling good about herself inside and that’s what is making her attractive to others. She also talks about being interested in other people which is an attractive attribute.
Maireas · 10/04/2022 10:50

@SirYawnsAlot

I like the article and thought there was a lot of truth in it but you can't claim to champion women and ask why they run each other down and when stating 'I haven't run to fat like so many women my age'

Also "women hate other women for being confident" (in this article).
Many posts on here disprove this and admire her confidence, just not her targeting women.

StaplesCorner · 10/04/2022 11:02

I can’t understand why people are admiring her confidence. It’s just arrogance dressed up an an important opinion. She’s a self aggrandising bully.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 10/04/2022 12:13

Why should any of us have to listen to her horseshit about how beautiful she thinks she is?
How is that right?

You don’t have to listen to anything! She’s talking about the impact of a positive self image. Personally I would rather my dd to be so happy and accepting of herself than be trying to look like so many women in the media at the moment who have used artificial procedures because they don’t feel good enough.
PonyPatter44 · 10/04/2022 12:45

So she is actually a real person? I honestly thought she was a comedy persona, like Keith Lemon or Mrs Merton. I didn't realise she is real. Bless her.

You learn something new everyday round here.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 10/04/2022 12:47

Margot78

I don't agree with you.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 10/04/2022 12:48

She's an eejit.

theDudesmummy · 10/04/2022 12:57

I hadn't heard of her, don't really have a view on her. But that bloke thinking he is good looking? I have nothing against non good looking guys, looks are less important than many other things obviously, but why would he think he was so gorgeous when he is actually completely mediocre in terms of looks?

Soffit · 10/04/2022 12:57

She is not a gifted writer (to put it politely). It is hard work even giving her article attention once every decade. For those of similar mindset, I'm sure she can be a functional girl friend.

theDudesmummy · 10/04/2022 12:59

Now THIS is good looking

That’s fine to disagree but that’s not really much of an argument! It is quite depressing that when a woman calls herself beautiful, the first thing some women do is look for reasons why she isn’t.
DoctorMarten · 10/04/2022 19:00

Some of you are tearing her appearance to pieces and slagging her off for criticising other women?! Hmm

TabithaHazel · 10/04/2022 23:08

I just meant she looks like an older version of Emma Bunton - same large forehead and high hairline. Wow is she really only 5 years older!
ChessieFL · 11/04/2022 05:48

Yes, Emma Bunton is 46!

IVFNewbie · 09/05/2022 08:44

She was very sexy back then and still sexy now.

There is nothing sexy about someone who is so self obsessed , vacuous, vain and delusional

Hmm

Exactly - there is a big difference between self assured and confident and so far up your own backside that you make up situations like pilots sending you glasses of champagne

Topseyt123 · 19/05/2022 16:56

I think insufferable might be the word I am looking for. 🤔

alwaysontheloo · 19/05/2022 17:56

I see Mrs Brick's PR team are hard at work here. You deserve a bonus some of you...

I personally think she looks great for her age and I applaud any woman in their 50s who is confident and takes care of themselves. Not sure why we need to keep hearing about it though. I do think over confidence is not attractive and I apply that to men and women alike.
Mind you I've always subscribed to the notion that everyone - no matter what age, shape or size is unique and beautiful on the outside and people are only ever ugly on the inside.
