I hope this isn't the wrong thing to say, but I think a few journalists, Samantha Brick and Liz Jones, probably, I'd think Julie Burchill too, have Asperger's Syndrome, and this makes them very frank and to the point, regardless of social norms and etiquettes.

Samantha's evidence for her deduction is irrefutable and science-based. She has given several contextualised imperically- unimpeachable examples of men finding her beautiful, telling her such, and giving her favours. Men offering to park her car for her; buying her things. She obviously is very attractive, then.

I think she is beautiful and hasn't developed a social mask to bend fact through the prism of subterfuge; she sees and days things as they are. You could say too, that she hasn't capitalised on her extreme beauty by marrying a billionaire or acting, as many beautiful women do; again, in my view because she probably lacks neurotypical savvy instincts.

(Actually, a lot of autistic people are good looking, especially children, possible because the absence of social smiles gives their gestures a kind of pure, resting angel look.)

Samantha has amazing skin. Most very, very beautiful people do. Look at pics of Marilyn Monroe - it's the skin. Look at Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry. Flawless skin on complexion and body. The camera doesn't do justice to what real life makes obvious. I bet Samantha is actually better in real life than on camera.

If course she is beautiful. If men fall over her, she must be: how else would you explain it?

@viques

Is “slip a couple of extra lemons into my basket” a French thing or a euphemism?
🤣 I am imagining a sort of Carry On sound effect when they drop @viques

Her life in France sounds really lovely, though. I am pleased for her.

FOJN · 09/04/2022 18:37

Callum, whose longest relationship was six months,

I don't think that's true, I think Callum has been in love with himself for most of his 32 years. He'll need to find a partner interested in a thruple!

UhtredsLatestPaganHussy · 09/04/2022 18:37

Ah, Samantha Brick. She's like something from a simpler time. A halcyon and more innocent day before the arrival of Katie Hopkins and her ilk.

I remember after her initial 'I is the most bee-yoo-tiful' article she did a few photoshoots with her husband. He looked liked he'd stepped out of an Asterix and Obelix comic book.

This has got me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wagnest · 09/04/2022 18:40

Blimey she’s the spit of my friend Wendy 😮.

[quote JaneJeffer]I came across her male equivalent the other day

Oh Callum. You look perfectly nice and I'm sure there's a granny or two who'd love to set you up with their granddaughters. But you're most definitely not too good looking.

DameSallyMarkham · 09/04/2022 18:42

'Hi, Sam, we need 800 words of the usual feather-ruffling bollocks about how gorgeous you are and how other women are just fat and jealous... Yeah, I know, but Liz Jones is busy... I'll ping you the checklist - diet, exercise, Kate Middleton, the French hubster, IVF, you know the drill. Can you get it to us for Friday, so we can run it next to the pics of 'high-spirited racegoers' falling off their stiletto heels at Aintree? You're a star, cheers...'

Lazzaroni · 09/04/2022 18:43

Good for her. Disagree about midlife blondes, though. Are we supposed to dye our hair dark if we happen to be blonde?

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2022 18:56

Maybe off cameras she’s got a really good personality that men are drawn too? I’m not going to hate on my own kind just because she wrote that anymore than I’d look at the aintree photos and sneer.

Maireas · 09/04/2022 18:58

Her Instagram looks lovely, but she's married to a retired carpenter, who's a bit older, she's a freelance writer and needs a pension plan. Anything where a woman loves men but slags women off (or that can be perceived as such) gets lapped up. It's all opening up now, she'll get offers to go on This Morning or that Christine Blakeley show or whatever.
Kerching.

Well yes, if you want men at the local market to give you free produce.

I get the impression from that article that she routinely gives men attention, she's maybe flirty, maybe just a bit flattering. She noted that younger women at the market didn't seem to get as much attention as her.

Maireas · 09/04/2022 19:03

@Wagnest

Blimey she’s the spit of my friend Wendy 😮.

Are you jealous of Wendy and all the male attention she gets?!

ZaraSizeMedium · 09/04/2022 19:04

@JaneJeffer well if she does have botox it looks very natural.

I agree with her that her new hair colour suits her better too.

I think in fact she is quite attractive actually, but it's a shame that she seems to set great store by how much male attention and affirmation she can get.

ElenaSt · 09/04/2022 19:04

What is the difference between her who does the occasional article speaking about her looks and the ones on Instagram such as Davina, Ulrika, Jesy Nelson etc who pose in their underwear thinking they look gorgeous and rate themselves highly but act all upset when people are honest about how they look?

At least she takes it on the chin.

UhtredsLatestPaganHussy · 09/04/2022 19:05

It's so weird that she remembers every man who waves at her or who looks at her for more than a split second. She must take notes.

Concestor · 09/04/2022 19:13

I've just had a look at Google images of her and there's not a single one in which she looks beautiful. I think she looks really average. I know much better looking women than that just at the school gates.
For me it's the way she clearly judges every other woman in her vicinity, she clearly thinks she's better than everyone else and that will be why women don't like her.
She's basically constantly saying "I'm not like other girls" and doing the pick me dance and it's tedious. She comes across as insecure and needy.
Even if she were genuinely beautiful, it's her attitude that's the problem, not her looks.

Pebbledashery · 09/04/2022 19:16

She's just an incredulously arrogant woman. I'll never forget that ridiculous article in the DM regarding how beautiful she perceived herself to be and all these hopeless men throwing themselves in front of her.
She has a ridiculous surname also.

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 09/04/2022 19:20

I'm not clicking on this (again), but I saw on Twitter that it had been edited to remove:

  • her saying that middle aged women 'run to fat' and they should be like her and do yoga and meditation to avoid it

Someone challenged her on Twitter and she said it wasn't her who edited it.

I'm all for self-love, but there's no need to bring others down in the process.

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 09/04/2022 19:21

No - still there!

"Because I have definitely not let myself go. I haven't run to fat like so many women my age, thanks to daily yoga and meditation.

I dress appropriately, too. I don't wear flesh-baring clothes and have stopped dyeing my hair blonde. Frankly, very few women suit blonde in midlife."

Wagnest · 09/04/2022 19:26

@Maireas - Wendy would like me to be!

Getoffmyshoes · 09/04/2022 19:26

I read her first article ten years and was mentally joining in with the “who the fuck does she think she is” pile on. I read this one yesterday and thought “good for her”! Sure, she’s no Jennifer Anniston but good on her for being confident and feeling good, I need to take a leaf out of her book. This is really not something I ever thought I’d say Blush

Maireas · 09/04/2022 19:28
