Random things that were big in the '90s.

I'm trying to make up a quiz for a friend's birthday based on things that were popular in the '90s, plus I was just having fun reminiscing with another friend. So I wondered, what random and lesser known things do you remember being popular back then?

Riverdance is one I remember. That was so huge back then and I was obsessed with it and Michael Flatley. I remember watching Eurovision live when they had Michael Flatley and Jean Butler perform and being blown away by it.

Proper Polly Pockets and what were those plastic dogs and cats you could collect? No bigger than your thumb and weren't movable but were always frozen in the act of doing something. I remember getting some that were heat sensitive so you could warm them up and the wound on their paw would disappear!

Puppy and Kitty in My Pocket. Though there were a lot of those types of toy around. I probably bought all of them.

Mel and sue on at lunchtime- watched it at uni! Fishbowl cocktails. Combats. Hair mascara. Little tiny butterfly clips for the hair. Basically anything worn by twink in spaced. Fluffy ugh boots and hot pants with a cowboy hat for clubbing /festivals (not worn by me though!). Moloko's "bring it back" playing everywhere!

Late 90s - The Millennium Bug - people thinking computers would stop working overnight. Endless airplay for Prince's '1999'. Moaning about the Millennium Dome being a waste of money.
