Random things that were big in the '90s.

I'm trying to make up a quiz for a friend's birthday based on things that were popular in the '90s, plus I was just having fun reminiscing with another friend. So I wondered, what random and lesser known things do you remember being popular back then?

Riverdance is one I remember. That was so huge back then and I was obsessed with it and Michael Flatley. I remember watching Eurovision live when they had Michael Flatley and Jean Butler perform and being blown away by it.

Toys in cereal

I miss this - why did they go away?

Because plastic is the devil now. This generation will never know the joys of a free Puppy in my Pocket or a random holographic picture card of Anastasia.
Pizza hut used to do toys as well and Deep Pan Pizza gave you REAL Lego.

Encarta for all your homework (not sure if I've spelt that correctly) floppy disks, browsing the argos/index catalogue for all the cool things you'd buy as a grown up
Puppy in my pocket, girl talk and bliss/sugar magazines.

@Sortilege

Magic eye pictures.

Those weird green/grey/burgundy striped wide neck tunic tops that were absolutely everywhere for about two years in the early 90s.

Papier poudre from body shop.

“Bodies” with the popper crotches that were such hard work when you were tipsy.

I used to love those papier poudre sheets. Can you still get them?

Black string necklaces with sterling silver (or silver plated) pendants. The pendants were usually hippy ish things like sun and moons or Yin Yangs.

Awful gold jewelery, like clown pendants and massive hoop earrings. Dummy necklaces too. ick

Kappa tracksuits and Adidas popper trackies. Gola used to be seen as "naff" but had a comeback in the 2000s.

The word "naff"

Smirnoff Ice Hooper's Hooch Bacardi Breezers
I drank far too many watermelon Bacardi Breezers. While wearing my combats and a kids T-shirt so it was extra tight and short. Normally with a Bang On The Door character on it!

I feel like 90% of YA books in the '90s were about shapeshifters and vampires.
