I'm trying to make up a quiz for a friend's birthday based on things that were popular in the '90s, plus I was just having fun reminiscing with another friend. So I wondered, what random and lesser known things do you remember being popular back then?

Riverdance is one I remember. That was so huge back then and I was obsessed with it and Michael Flatley. I remember watching Eurovision live when they had Michael Flatley and Jean Butler perform and being blown away by it.

Do you remember the velvet headbands that had your name written on in sort of 3d paint?

In fact, seem to remember a lot of personalisation of things

Vaguely supernatural / gothic films e.g. The Addams Family, Edward Scissorhands, Death Becomes Her, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Interview with the Vampire

Does anyone remember Filofax on just about every subject known to man? Or hologram pendants? I'm not sure if the latter were just a thing in my area.

oh lord yes. I'd forgotten about that. It was More magazine if I remember. Absolute filth and we all crowded round the new edition at Youth Club!

There was a major war in Europe - from 1992 to the end of the decade. Might not be a party sort of quiz topic though

There were lots of 'unplugged' musics vids. And MTV had an 'undressed' day

Oh and the Betty Blue and Big Blue films. Plus everyone had the same Matisse or Egon Schiel poster on their walls
