I'm trying to make up a quiz for a friend's birthday based on things that were popular in the '90s, plus I was just having fun reminiscing with another friend. So I wondered, what random and lesser known things do you remember being popular back then?

Riverdance is one I remember. That was so huge back then and I was obsessed with it and Michael Flatley. I remember watching Eurovision live when they had Michael Flatley and Jean Butler perform and being blown away by it.

Has anyone mentioned Swatch yet? Loved those. And those massive Matchstick trainers- I was very envious of my friend that had those. Oh, and those Reeboks with a little basketball ‘pump’ on the tongue that you could use to inflate parts of the shoe.

Chokers… I used to wear them with bodysuits and red high waisted baggy jeans. Oh the shame!
I remember going out with my best friend she wore black jeans, a red bodysuit and a black choker, I wore red jeans, black bodysuit and a red choker 😬

I remember the lads in my class inexplicably started wearing 'spliffy' coats, with cartoon boys holding a joint. School eventually banned that.
Staying with the boys - they all bleached their hair and wore it in curtains style. Absolutely horrendous! Think is was an attempt to be Nick Carter.
I remember banana bubbles (and many other sugar based cereals), gladiators, space buns, fluffy tops, bowling shirts, AOL chat, and playing Kirby. Also, 25p cans of coca cola. Sea monkeys. Paper trees you popped into water and they flowered.
