Money no object - what would you get (done)?

Just fantasizing a little here: if I could get anything free of charge, I'd get my nails done every week, and my hair. I'd have a daily cleaner and a cook (but no live-in staff). I'd get my car cleaned weekly. And I'd get a face lift and some liposuction.

What would you go for? Is my list horribly demanding? Would I be higher maintenance than most?

This wouldn't be stuff paid for by someone else by the way. It'd be a weird world where this stuff would be free for whatever reason. And let's keep it lightweight and not go down the 'with all the issues in the world why are you thinking about a facelift?' etc.

Oddly, I wouldn't go for handbags or shoes - but this may be because I already have hundreds!

Definitely daily cleaner who would do the laundry!!! And expensive exercise classes eg Pilates.

DrBrennerFan · 04/04/2022 15:08

Funds all sorted then just wait till I can leave.

duvetdayforeveryone · 04/04/2022 15:09

Ooh, I do like the idea of someone coming to tidy my kitchen and to keep my dirty laundry pile under control Grin

I'd like a gardener to grow fruit and vegetables in my garden.

katienana · 04/04/2022 15:10

Massage every week! I'd also get laser eye surgery and laser hair removal.

northernlola · 04/04/2022 15:10

A housekeeper who would come for several hours a day. A gardener. Basically an immaculate and organised house without me having to do anything!

Don't think I'd be fussed about hair and nail salons. But I'd like lots of massages, facials, reflexology and acupuncture.

Regular car valet. All sounds delightful! Not much like my current life!

PopsicleHustler · 04/04/2022 15:12

Liposuction and breast reduction.
Teeth implants or invisilign braces for my crooked front teeth.
A cleaner
A nanny to hold the baby for a couple of hours so I can nap or clean.
2 sets of bunk beds.
A big house in Caversham Reading.
An American fridge freezer
Two highly trained German shepherds to guard the big house.
£200 to blow on Asda food every week.
Money to regularly give to Yemen. Those poor children in the adverts break my heart.

AfterSchoolWorry · 04/04/2022 15:15

A chef and a housekeeper.

I'd pay someone to moisturize me because I never do it because I hate the feeling of wet/slimy hands. My skin is very dry.

Someone to do my hair.

Gingernaut · 04/04/2022 15:16

Kitchen refit
Pilates and yoga instructors
Part time work
Weekly cleaner

NeedleNoodle3 · 04/04/2022 15:18

Someone to come and do my hair and make up if I have a night out.
A driver.

JurassicShay · 04/04/2022 15:19

A few weeks in the priory & a nanny Grin

BlingLoving · 04/04/2022 15:19

Flowers. All the flowers.

Also I'd only buy silk and cashmere to wear.

I would have a cleaning agency and would insist that they send at least 3 people at a time to clean my house a minimum of twice a week (which will be big as I'd move too!) so that I can enjoy a clean house but not have to deal with a cleaner being in it all the time!

I would never fly economy again. Not even for a short flight such as to Paris.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 04/04/2022 15:21

I wouldn’t want a daily cleaner, weekly is perfect.

I would LOVE a weekly blow dry though!

And a chef / meals delivered. I can’t believe how much of adult life is sorting out the meal plan / food deliveries / cooking dinner. Relentless and BORING.

whoruntheworldgirls · 04/04/2022 15:26

Breast reduction, liposuction then any skin tidying that was needed.
Finish off my tattoo removal.
Increase the cleaners hours
Get a gardener even though my husband is happy doing it.
Fortnightly nails
Fly 1st class

DelilahBucket · 04/04/2022 15:28

A cleaner who will also do the ironing.
Lipo and a tummy tuck to deal with excess skin left from pregnancy 14 years ago.
I'd really like to have my eyebrows done.
I'm not bothered about a chef, I like cooking, but someone to clean up afterwards would be great!
A driver.

Corgeti · 04/04/2022 15:32

I would get a cleaner.
Breast reduction.
Lipo on my stomach.
Laser hair removal.
Lovely food, just buying what I wanted to make or eat without cost worries.
Regular massages, ideally at home.
I would also go to the best migraine doctor I could find and be like fix me please!

Twizbe · 04/04/2022 15:34

Cleaner for sure
Tummy tuck
Nails and hair done more regularly

HowIsItMarchAlready · 04/04/2022 15:39

@PopsicleHustler but surely you could get someone to clean so you could just nap while the nanny is there???

@AfterSchoolWorry OMG - a 'moisturiserer' takes the biscuit! I am very impressed. So far, you win. With such creativity when it comes to self-indulgence, will you be my friend please???

And yes to flying first class - great idea!

A non-exhaustive list of things that I can think of right now, while I grumpily stew over a shit outcome I've just received

  • A house with plenty of land and properties within it.
  • One of those properties ear marked for a housekeeper who works 10-4 and does the housework, laundry, cooks lunch etc. They can live in the house for nothing and have a partner/kids in it no problem. They can be paid a nice wage, which means they actually want to stay and work with me.
  • A virtual PA who deals with all the house and work admin that I don't want to deal with. Car insurance, MOTs, switching energy suppliers, that kind of thing.
  • A big kitchen, with a Rayburn one end and a big squishy sofa the other end, a long wooden table in the middle and two dishwashers.
  • A boot room, with shower box things for dogs and wellies.
  • Walk in larder.
  • One day a fortnight blocked out in the diary for a wash and blow dry, nails, acupuncture and a facial.
-I'd have invisalign on my lower teeth and have them whitened, plus a dental implant for the missing molar.
  • A local anaesthetic facelift like that Mumsnetter had a while back, she looked amazing and the recovery looked good.
  • An undercover pool, with a room for reformer pilates attached.
lollipoprainbow · 04/04/2022 15:42

Liposuction
Botox
Hair and nails done weekly
Cleaner
Nanny

Greensleeves · 04/04/2022 15:43

I'd get something done about my teeth. I have a big overbite which has caused me TMJ issues all my life. I have a big gap between my front teeth, one of which is a crown I've had since I was a teenager, with malformation of the gum visible because the moving-teeth-around for the crown didn't go smoothly. They're horrible and I hate them. Had ongoing orthodontic hell between 10 (when I knocked out the front tooth) and 17 when it was finally fitted - traintracks, dentures, the lot - and was bullied constantly about it. I smile with my mouth closed and am very self-conscious about my teeth. I'd love to have the money to just go and see someone and say "do what you can".

PuzzledObserver · 04/04/2022 15:44

I’d move to a house with a sea view, but very modern and eco, and quiet.

(we retired and moved last year, and where we moved to was the compromise due to budget - could have been near the sea/estuary, but could only get a pokey drafty fixer-upper, so went inland and got a spacious efficient new build for the same money)

Then I’d get a personal trainer who would text me and make me go the gym (which would be 5 mins from my house) 3-4 times a week.

A chef who would come in and cook delicious healthy meals from fresh ingredients a few times a week. And clear up afterwards, of course.

A regular gardener, rather than the person we’ve had a couple of times to do seasonal tidy ups.

And a massage once a fortnight.

@HowIsItMarchAlready

Yes, I'll have my people call your people and arrange to have is carried on palanquins to the meeting place!! Grin

AfterSchoolWorry · 04/04/2022 15:47

Have *us carried !

bobbibee · 04/04/2022 15:51

I'd have:

  • A cleaner/helper 2-3 times a week, ideally one who'd also prep dinner or put it in the slow cooker.
  • A gardener once a week.

Not too fussed out beauty stuff, I'd maybe get someone else to do my eyebrows though.
