Money no object - what would you get (done)?

Just fantasizing a little here: if I could get anything free of charge, I'd get my nails done every week, and my hair. I'd have a daily cleaner and a cook (but no live-in staff). I'd get my car cleaned weekly. And I'd get a face lift and some liposuction.

What would you go for? Is my list horribly demanding? Would I be higher maintenance than most?

This wouldn't be stuff paid for by someone else by the way. It'd be a weird world where this stuff would be free for whatever reason. And let's keep it lightweight and not go down the 'with all the issues in the world why are you thinking about a facelift?' etc.

I agree about a weekly massage. Plus the idea of a gardener who grows fruit n veg for me.

I will have to fantasise instead. Although I do already have a monthly half hr back rub (weak back) and have a twice monthly cheap gardener April to September.

Mossstitch · 04/04/2022 16:06

A small detached barn conversion style house with enough land for rescue animals and chickens and my own swimming pool without chlorine 🏊🤔 sure there's more but I won't be greedy 😜

andysgirl22 · 04/04/2022 16:07

Someone to pluck my eyebrows and deal with my disgusting hair

andysgirl22 · 04/04/2022 16:09

@Lightning020Sorry if this is off topic slightly but do you find that helps with pain etc? I have a weak and generally achy back and was considering trying to save some money for something like this. Sorry if I'm being too nosey xx

Clarabellawilliamson · 04/04/2022 16:13

My own builder (team?!) on the payroll just to do ALL the jobs that need doing around the house.

Personal trainer that was firm but not shouty and every so often said "yeah- fuck it, let's just eat biscuits today"

Personal shopper so I always looked well put together and who didn't just buy clothes from supermarkets. AND cut all the labels out first so I didn't know what size they were

LeftFootForward · 04/04/2022 16:17

I'd have a private health MOT. Blood tests, scans, liver and kidney function tests, ECG etc the works to make sure I wasn't brewing anything nasty :) Then I'd try and persuade my husband to have the same.

I quite like the idea of a regular professional massage too and maybe someone waving some sticks/hot stones over me or whatever they do afterwards.

Oh, and I'd get a professional garden designer in.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/04/2022 16:17

A freshly ironed crisp linen bed every day.

And a chef. Who would cook beautiful meals that magically made me lose 5 stone.

And someone to sit with my mam when I have to work.

doeadeeer · 04/04/2022 16:18

Daily personal trainer and daily beautiful massage.

Sailfin · 04/04/2022 16:21

A divorce and brand new home just for me.

Turnthevolumedown · 04/04/2022 16:23

A bigger house with a garden
Private speech therapy for DS1 and private health care for all the family
Get my teeth whitened and straightened
Laser hair removal
Weekly facials
An occasional chef and a weekly cleaner
My own stylist

rookiemere · 04/04/2022 16:25

Complete renovation of the house or move
Cleaner
Personal trainer
Chef or meals delivered
Stylist ( throw out all existing clothes)
Beautician to come 2 x per month for all beauty requirements

Cas112 · 04/04/2022 16:26

I would get a boob uplift, a cleaner and some really nice expensive flowers every week

Easilydiscardthisone · 04/04/2022 16:28

If money was no object I would…

Get a cleaner
Get meal boxes for easy healthy cooking
Have a chauffeur for the school run
Get a facial and massage every week
Hair wash and blow dry twice a week
Nails done every week
Pedicure every week
Eyebrows done every week
Lash extensions every week
Build my dream house

TargusEasting · 04/04/2022 16:29

Switzerland.

Khalas · 04/04/2022 16:37

*Chef for the weekdays
*A one woman beautician that can do nails, waxing, threading, hairstyling/cutting and massages and a sideline in personal styling
*Housekeeper that could deal with the cleaning, darning and also cat sitting and trips to the vet, actually make that a cat looker-afterer
*EA for all the other life admin
*PT that mixes things up but failing that;
*Cosmetic surgeon to do the lipo I've always wanted see also: teeth straightening and whitening
*A champagne bar in my walk in wardrobe space which is a whole other room. I'd waft about in silk two pieces with my fabulous hair and immaculate eyebrows.

So not much then Grin

HowIsItMarchAlready · 04/04/2022 16:43

@AfterSchoolWorry you are a GENIUS!

OP posts:
SniffMyQuiffyHair · 04/04/2022 16:47

Someone to come and put my makeup on every morning, then come back and take it off later,
A wash and blow dry at home twice a week
Fresh flowers every week, just one bunch from a garage would make me happy
A back massage

TerraNovaTwo · 04/04/2022 17:06

Things that would help right at this moment, if money wasn't an object:
Holiday with DC to USA
Landscape garden
Work part time
Get my teeth sorted
Hire a cleaner 2hrs per week

iamsoreadyforbednow · 04/04/2022 17:12

A breast reduction, a cleaner and a nanny for the kids while I work.

Bloodybridget · 04/04/2022 17:19

I'd travel first class on trains and fly business class. Taxis whenever I wanted (but would still use free public transport - free because I'm old - a lot). Stay in nice hotels and eat in good restaurants.

Pythonesque · 04/04/2022 17:26

A cook-housekeeper and a personal assistant. Both with great organisational skills and oodles of patience. First priority would be getting the house organised and second would be my routine / life!

I do a bit of violin teaching, and in my ideal world, someone else would organise my timetable / payment system and I'd just turn up and do the lessons :)

Come to think of it, one thing I'd love is to have a music school venue (and admin people to run it), with enough parking / accessible transport to do lots of lovely lessons and concerts, and make it cheaply available to other teachers to use as well. With enough money to offer heavily subsidised lessons and instruments to those who couldn't afford it otherwise.

DinosApple · 04/04/2022 17:29

If money was no object I'd have the heating on all day for a start!

And a cleaner, housekeeper and cook. A gardening assistant for DH (he loves gardening so just some help out occasionally).

I'd employ a tree surgeon for the house behind and get the overhanging branches chopped so the pigeons can't shit on my washing line any more. That would make me very happy!

Maybe a personal trainer 3 times a week to counteract the chef!

I'd be generous, spread the wealth and employ people rather than buy things! Please universe pick me for the premium bonds/lottery/ long lost relative inheritance!

Fillybuster · 04/04/2022 17:30

@PopsicleHustler I love your list, especially that last one - I agree!

I'd have:

Big house in Mill Hill /Totteridge / Whetstone (ie NW London but still rural-ish) with enough land for

  • small yard for pony
  • freshwater swimming lake in the garden
  • garden with vegetable patches and raised beds
  • mini orchard
House with self contained extension for guests AND housekeeper cottage in the grounds Housekeeper to keep everything running smoothly Clean towels every day Pony More dogs Someone to walk the dogs when I don't have time so I don't feel guilty Extra car for dcs to learn on / use / fight over, that isn't mine Full gym in the basement and a regular PT to shout at me Membership of a posh gym for when I want to go to classes Huuuuuuge kitchen with 3 ovens, massive range hob, and all the appliances I dream about (air fryer....)

Yy to first class flights
Chauffeur for trips into central London (I've just had a hellish journey on the tube....!)
Some kind of high end electric car
Holiday home on the coast, maybe Brighton?

Someone to chop onions and chilli peppers for me. But I'm happy to carry on cooking Wink

RiaOverTheRainbow · 04/04/2022 17:32

A personal shopper, who above all makes sure I have bras that fit properly (and washes them for me).

A gardener who'll grow my favourite flowers regardless of garden-suitability or season.

And the standard house, personal trainer, holidays, IVF...

LadyCordeliaFitzgerald · 04/04/2022 17:32

A lady’s maid who would be entirely responsible for my appearance and would cut and dye my hair expertly (possibly while I sleep), do manicures, makeup and quietly update my wardrobe.

I would also have a housekeeper/manager who would shop, cook, clean and remind me where I’m meant to be and put my keys and phone in my pocket.

I haven’t yet figured out what my infantilised self actually does all day in this scenario. I’ll have to ask the housekeeper.
