Apparently approved for parole, but being challenged by the gov.

How can a civilised society even consider it.

@EthelTheAardvark you post as if you have some knowledge or professional experience....yet I don't know anyone in the criminal justice system with that level of certainty about supervision. You absolutely do not have to be particularly clever to avoid offending/being recalled.

HRTQueen · 31/03/2022 22:51

I don’t know anyone either who works in any capacity of working with ex offenders who has such confidence in monitoring and supervision

Anyone who does should be looking for another job ….

She has proven herself to push boundaries and be extended manipulative. She should be tested in an open prison

HRTQueen · 31/03/2022 22:57

*extremely manipulative

WindyKnickers · 31/03/2022 23:07

Her risk will be assessed and the plan for her release will be thoroughly scrutinised by the parole board. Luckily the mumsnet jury do not have a say in the release of dangerous offenders. Most of the responses on here are just knee jerk ignorance.

Kitkat151 · 31/03/2022 23:10

@HRTQueen

I guess she behaved well and engaged with professionals as required

Really not on when you compare to other sentences

But she didn’t did she....she was let out on licence in 2013 but recalled to prison for breaking terms of her parole

And six years have passed since then; plus she's been taught the hard way that breaking the rules of parole has serious consequences.

As @WindyKnickers points out, it is just possible that the members of the Parole Board no more about it than people on MN. And for all that someone out there has their hands on the keyboard poised to cite Warboys, there are hundreds of prisoners being released safely by parole boards every day.

HRTQueen · 31/03/2022 23:33

Well she has behaved since.

And no not all responses are based on knee jerk ignorance.

EthelTheAardvark · 31/03/2022 23:39

Aaaarg! know more, not no more. Must .. not .. post. .. on MN .. ... when sleepy.

HRTQueen · 31/03/2022 23:52

Not all of us have such faith in parole boards

Rehabilitation for prisoners is woefully poor

cocktailclub · 01/04/2022 07:25

I don't think the parole board make good decisions. I think there are financial targets to meet because we can't afford to keep everyone in prison.

I doubt she's ready for release. She already failed parole once. I do believe in rehabilitation but not for that sort of crime. She will probably meet another abusive man, get pregnant and have the child removed. The child will grow up in care (and I use the word care very loosely). She will repeat her pattern of finding abusive men and making poor decisions and taking drugs.

It will be a massive cost in emotional pain to her future children, as they get removed and grow up in care, and everyone else who will pay for her mistakes.

I have very little faith in decision makers in social services and the parole board.

Exactly. It's all done on a tight budget with massive caseloads. Very little actual monitoring. They only recall people to prison once they've been caught doing something they shouldn't which can be too late for the victims which is mist of the rest of society.
Porcupineintherough · 01/04/2022 08:14

She has behaved since

You mean she hasn't killed any more children whilst in prison. Well that's reassuring. Hmm

lollipoprainbow · 01/04/2022 09:35

It doesn't matter that she has served her sentence, the fact is she should never see the light of day again.

EthelTheAardvark · 01/04/2022 09:39

You mean she hasn't killed any more children whilst in prison

No, I don't.

LizBennet · 01/04/2022 09:40

It's a shame the sentences given out for such grievous crimes can't be actual life terms.
Some crimes warrant it, I don't believe some people deserve the chance to be rehabilitated.

I don't believe the parole board have an adequate understanding of female offending and this type of woman who puts the needs of men before the safety of their children.
Hearwego · 05/05/2022 19:09

Dominic Raab tried to stop her release, but Tracy Connellys release has been approved according to the news today…

Completely agree with this. She was then recalled due to sending indecent photos of herself.

AWombleScorned · 30/03/2022 21:22

@Jongy

Compulsory sterilisation at the very least in the absence of the rope.
Don’t be ridiculous ffs

Why is that ridiculous? I totally agree, compulsive sterilisation. It sickens me to think that she become pregnant again, not that I think she’d be allowed to keep a baby.

Florenz · 05/05/2022 20:55

Justice system and penal system in this country is an absolute joke and light years away from public opinion.
