It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

I always think of him whenever I go to Belsize.

I know who you mean, lead singer from Marillion, Misplaced Childhood is one of my favourite 80's albums.

Not such a pleasant connection, but Jimmy Savile was my grandfather’s cousin. They went to school together in Leeds and occasionally visited each other’s houses. My grandfather passed away a few years before his heinous crimes came to light, I can’t imagine how much it would have upset him.

Rhannion · 27/03/2022 20:30

I had a fling years ago with someone who is up for an Oscar tonight.

Olivia Colman?
Kirsten Dunst?
Steven Spielberg?

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 27/03/2022 20:35

@YodaLivesOnMySofa

I’m friends with Ulrika Jonsson, she’s really, really lovely.
Ulrika, is that you?!

That bloke from Emmerdale with the beard?

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 27/03/2022 20:37

My friend is related to Mary Berry.

Badtasteflump · 27/03/2022 20:41

An old friend of mine is a good friend of Hugh Jackman. I'm in touch with my friend via social media but we live in different countries and haven't met up for years (unfortunately - ha ha!).

GotToNamechangeForThis123 · 27/03/2022 20:42

My sister works for The Queen.

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 27/03/2022 20:43

I went to school with one of the main actors in line of duty Grin

SouperNoodle · 27/03/2022 20:55

I met Michael Owen's MIL and daughter at a birthday party once. Does that count? 😂

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/03/2022 20:55

@Sunnysprings

My ex fiance is quite famous, a successful musician and actor.

I know Russell Tovey well, and more importantly his lovely dogs.

I know Neil Tennant, he is very good at playing tea party, so much so that my little one always makes him do it.

Jessie Cave, we used to be housemates.

I can't tell you how pleased this revelation about Neil Tennant has made me. I love PSB and he seems a very down to earth and decent type when interviewed.

I used to know Philip Quast, the actor. We didn't get on.

MyBottleOfRibena · 27/03/2022 20:58
@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn yep I'm still not seeing how it could be the queen...🤣🙈
The crown, a long running Netflix show about the Queen…….

FurbleSocks · 27/03/2022 20:59

Yes. But to me they are a normal person. Since knowing them I have become less overawed by celebrity because they are just normal really. I now 'big up' people who I know from work who make interesting comments in meetings or conversations. Those are the kinds of people I want more of in my life.

Ok well now you HAVE to tell us!
ladymuck111 · 27/03/2022 21:07

@hidinginthekitchenwithwine

I used to work for one. Public image: positive, caring friendly. Reality: toxic, messed up marriage, weird views on women (despite being one), snarky, materialistic and only interested in people she deemed "important"
This screams Holly Willoughby to me
eatthebickies · 27/03/2022 21:07

@Scienceseeker ooooh is it Mrs hinch?

Grasping · 27/03/2022 21:08

@My3cents1

I’m hoping someone will say Nick Kershaw, Peter Cox from Go West, Paul Young, Mike Nolan from Buck’s Fizz ( I so miss the 80s) and Milo Ventimiglia….anyone?
I know one of those very well. Not prepared to say which one
SouperNoodle · 27/03/2022 21:10

@ladymuck111 is Holly Willoughby horrible? 😱 she always seems so nice 🥺

filka · 27/03/2022 21:11

Umm yes, I'm married to one but not in the UK. Opera singer, on a TV chat show every week, usually several times. WhatsApp messages are deep and meaningful, like "what time are you coming home?"

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/03/2022 21:11

Ffs Just post who you know then namechange! I did an internship at a theatre and met a few actors/playwrights. Peter Mullen was a total dick. As was that scottish actress Siobhan whatshername? Eleanor Bron(the nasty headteacher in The little Princess) was absolutely striking and made a point of saying hello to everyone.

I've read elsewhere that she is not what she appears to be on screen.

Hunderland · 27/03/2022 21:13

@SnowyPetals

I once met David Mitchell at the airport. We were on the same flight. He was very nice and witty as well.
Oooh I've got his book on my reading list fascinating I know Grin
