It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

I met him at a Reading festival many years ago he was very down to earth.
FairyLightPups · 27/03/2022 17:08

My grandad is pretty famous within the music industry although not externally as he mostly played on other people's tracks and did things like coaching and producing others music rather than releasing his own.

TheNonsensePotter · 27/03/2022 17:14

Such a disappointing thread. What is the point in posting if you're not going to name them??

Ratatoo · 27/03/2022 17:14

I know Ferne Cotton, she's a bit bonkers but really kind and lovely. She's a Mumsnetter too.

YodaLivesOnMySofa · 27/03/2022 17:15

I’m friends with Ulrika Jonsson, she’s really, really lovely.

HowIsItMarchAlready · 27/03/2022 17:15

I wonder if Stephen Fry is as good company IRL as he seems on TV

TheChild · 27/03/2022 17:16

@iknowstuff

Name change for obvious reasons..

I know a few (job related), for example - Orlando Bloom and Ron Pearlman would two I know best. I was friends with Heath Ledger too back in the day...

So if you could get me an introduction to Orlando, that'd be great 😁 he was my teen obsession, would definitely leave DH if he came knocking... Please tell me he is lovely and not a huge plonker!

Glad to hear this. I always thought she seemed nice. And fun
DancingChairs · 27/03/2022 17:23

I worked for a bit of a celebrity once. Rising star, really. Ego grew exponentially whilst I was working there, it was fascinating. I was happy to leave and haven't kept in touch.

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 27/03/2022 17:23

Victoria Wood once showed me how to use a hand dryer in a service station toilets once, does that count 😂

TimBoothseyes · 27/03/2022 17:24

Well the 2 that many would have heard of is Bez and Russell Howard.

TabithaTittlemouse · 27/03/2022 17:26

Yes.
Would you write your friends name on here and talk about them though? Good or bad, it’s still an invasion of privacy towards the person and the friendship.

DancingChairs · 27/03/2022 17:28

Oh and my neighbour is famous in the gaming industry, but that's pretty niche.

UptownWorld · 27/03/2022 17:30

My uncle is a famous singer. I don’t know him though, so does it really count? He’s my dads brother and I’m NC with my dad.

TheArtfulBlogger · 27/03/2022 17:32

@maddiemookins16mum

I was a nanny for someone famous in politics in the 1980s.
Grin lol

Exactly! What is the point of posting unless people are going to actually SAY anything

Who?

Gosh, I saw something about a caterer and chicken on Tiktok yesterday... I wonder if its true.
Howareyouflower · 27/03/2022 17:39

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

I saw Marty Feldman in a bar in Brighton, but I wasn't able to catch his eye...
Hahaha!

@TheNonsensePotter

Happens every time there's a thread like this. It's not interesting that a random name on an anonymous forum knows "someone who's been in the music business for years". It literally means nothing to anyone.
LuckyCharm9 · 27/03/2022 17:39

My mum is friends with Nigella.

What makes you think we don't know who Fish is?
Oblomov22 · 27/03/2022 17:44

No. Not personally,
Chesney Hawkes has been in my lounge. He's lovely. As is his brother. Loads of my friends know him.

Ds1 has been to Victoria Derbyshire's house often for birthday parties, he's friends with her son, ds says her son is lovely, as is she.

BlaBlaSmthSmth · 27/03/2022 17:44

Well I don't really see how it's an invasion of privacy as PP says we obviously know celebs will have friends so knowing a random on the internet is 'friends' with so-in-so doesn't mean a lot.

Anyway I came on to say that as a child I had a recurring dream that [very famous actor on British TV]* was my uncle..I must've been very young as I remember questioning whether it was true and asking my parents if the man on tv was my uncle 😁 ...not the point of the ther head I know, but this thread reminded me ha.

*just teasing it was David Jason 😉

I know. Utterly pointless.
"Nanny for a famous family" 🙄

SheilaTheGr3at · 27/03/2022 17:46

@Georgeskitchen well, people aren't exactly falling over themselves to exclaim at how exciting it is are they? Grin.

And although Mumsnet is home to plenty of 50+ year olds, equally it isn't - a lot of posters won't have a clue who he is
