It's Sunday. I'm bored! Do you have any celebrity friends as in close enough to have them on Watsapp etc. Come on give us a clue, maybe some MNers will even be brave enough to tell us names!

I worked in LA and know several, was gifted a very expensive bag by someone I have an NDA with.

Botanica · 29/03/2022 19:26

I went to school with Anita Rani, university with Matthew Goode and lived next door to Emma Pierson.

@SheilaTheGr3at

Yes, I'm good friends with Fish from Marillion and we exchange messages weekly and chat

I realise most of you won't know who this is

That's interesting, so am I, I'm mentioned regularly on his FoF broadcasts
GellerYeller · 29/03/2022 20:02

I know Neil Tennant, he is very good at playing tea party, so much so that my little one always makes him do it.
I love this so much!

Ratatoo · 29/03/2022 20:06

@Bearlover16

I was in a band in the early noughties. I live a very quiet life now and my perspective has changed massively since becoming a parent. I'm a frequent Mumsnetter 🤣

Do you live near Fish? If so then you live near me too. I was on One of his albums covers when I was wee. I don’t message him but we chat if we bump into each other down the street

Which album?
Eesha · 29/03/2022 20:33

@Botanica Matthew Goode is the hottest man ever!

Spidey66 · 29/03/2022 20:37

I was in infants with Tamsin Greig. We were best mates and sat next to each other and went to each others bday parties. I went to a different juniors and I'm 56 this year so it was a long time ago!

My brother was at school with Andy Serkis.

I was at secondary school with Ali Taylor who is the dog behaviourist on For the Love of Dogs with Paul O'Grady.

@CherryGurl73

I'm married to an ex pop-star. He only had one hit but he has some good tales to tell. I also various celebs in my phone whether it's because I've interviewed them or worked with them. I'm a freelance writer and one of my current clients is a well known TV presenter who is blummin lovely. It makes a nice change as most celebs I've met are not!
When you met your husband did you recognise him/his name, or did you find out later who he was?
VitalSpark · 29/03/2022 20:55

@tapdancingmum

My husband's boss was the keyboard player in Marillion.
Mark is only the boss of his keyboard tec Smile He's been in the band for 40 years!

XenoBitch · 29/03/2022 22:12

I had a work colleague who went to house parties with Ian McKellen.
My aunt is good friends with Duffy from Casualty.

NotASandGrownUn · 29/03/2022 22:12

My ExDP was school friends with David Thewlis (different surname then), I only remember a few annecdotes which is a shame as ExDP died a few years ago and DD is now a massive HP fan & would have loved a personal insight! Id be more interested to know if David remembers ExDP at all & could tell us any stories about him as a child/youth.

Paulo Nutinis in mine

You're obviously local to me. I hope he's a decent friend. Unfortunately a mate of mine was at a wedding at his table and he was really up himself. I do think he was going through addiction issues at the time, bit apparently he was really awful: sweary, uppity and rude. I suppose we all have bad days.

Oh no....love Paulo Nutini

Indiana2021 · 29/03/2022 22:46

I wonder if Fish from Marillion is reading this thread? Grin

Strangeways19 · 29/03/2022 22:58

I know Simon King who is the wildlife presenter, although I didn't recognise him until an employee told me who he was, he is a customer of mine, lives locally. I once saw Anthony Head in the local supermarket and he was having a massive row with his daughter, who was about 12 maybe at the time, I kept thinking I knew him then the penny dropped. That was disappointing. I also used to know well the lead singer of subhumans (an old school punk band) and know the guitarist from Reef, who were around in the 2000's he is a really nice guy

flashy44 · 29/03/2022 23:08

Has the funny woman hair person been revealed yet and is Holly W as nice in real life as she is on tv?

Agadoodoododont · 29/03/2022 23:12

Ben E. King insisted on giving my exh his autograph for me. ( he was a backing musician) I was a sleep deprived new mum so didn’t really appreciate it.
Taught Felicity Montague’s son. She’s lovely and her son was a sweetie.
Taught 2 children now in royal family. Nice children, shame about the parent.
Oh and the son of a then famous show jumper whose mum brought him to school with concussion. When your kid knocks themself out on the driveway at home, don’t put them in the back of the Jag and drop them off at school…. please. One vomiting, drowsy child blue lighted to hospital.

This thread has made me & DH have a proper reminisce.

DH says that I should have led by saying that I have family members who are famous in their field. Not show business.
It gave me my original 'in' someone knew someone etc.
We both still know some famouses . I'm going to draw the line under any new names.

To answer two previous questions, this is a pragmatic though answer:

Though he would have you believe otherwise, Bob Geldof is still a Catholic, non practising? Maybe. He has an ingrained understanding of the true meaning of a 'saint'. Would he say he was a saint? No, never.

What was PY like? She was my friend.

Both BG and PY are/were complex characters.

When I said:
'Everything you think you know about the BG & PY split? It was like that, but worse.'

Isn't every divorce awful? Even the 'conscious uncoupling' ones are hell if you are living them. The hippiest couples I have known have usually started out saying 'we're going to stay friends'.
That very rarely happens.

If they become friends again later it is because time has healed the wounds and usually a decent shag or 90 help Wink.

As for Brad Pitt fancying PY? I don't know, I do know that the first thing she would have done would have been to piss herself laughing about it. The second would be to try to set him up with someone. That might be how he ended up with Sinitta Grin.

Itcanneverbesaved · 30/03/2022 00:25

Did we find out who the woman was in a toxic relationship who is strange to other women etc? Was it the morning tv host?

Boxoffrog · 30/03/2022 08:57

@Eesha She was absolutely stunning and such a warm person with a fantastic sense of humor.She was a real pleasure to work to work with. She lit up a room. Her husband (boyfriend at the time) was also lovely . She told him that I had moved to New York from Ireland and he chatted to me about his family's Irish heritage. They really were a golden couple. She didn't change after they got married and still kept in touch. She was just fabulous.

TheNightKing · 30/03/2022 09:07

Interesting that a PP says Judge Rinder is lovely, that wasn’t my DM’s experience when she met him... She met him through her work (not in the industry so it’s just by chance that she has meet a couple of celebs). She recognised him but didn’t mention anything as it isn’t really professional. After a few minutes he asked “don’t you know who I am?” in a tone of voice that suggested he seemed to think that he was entitled to some special treatment or adoration Hmm

On the other hand, DM met Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Slater in Eastenders and said what a lovely lady she was. DM was working at her house, LT offered my DM a hot drink to which my DM replied that unfortunately she didn’t have time. As my DM finished her work and was about to leave, LT handed her a takeaway cup with a coffee in to make sure my DM still got a drink.

SenoraMiasma · 30/03/2022 13:53

@Boxoffrog

John Kennedy? Wow.
