Hope it’s going with a swing lemons enjoy!

We’ve had a lovely afternoon at my nephew’s first birthday party. My DC are much older and did great work entertaining all the babies, they were much admired and I was very proud.

mathanxiety · 03/04/2022 06:03

I watched the semi finals of the big college basketball tournament, known as March Madness, this evening out of the corner of my eye as I did some reading.

We had steady rain most of the day, with a brief intermission featuring snow. I didn't stick my nose out all day.

I'm planning to get the second booster and hoping to get Pfizer this time as I had miserable side effects from Moderna the last two times.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2022 09:28

A few very tiny flurries of snow here, but still no rain.

I need to plan a mail to the city archive of my hometown. My great grandfather died in the spring of 1962 and I need to have a look at the obituaries of that time to check for names of descendants. And I need the wedding certificate of my other great-grandparents for their origins.

Silkierabbit · 03/04/2022 09:35

I am doing chemotherapy for breast cancer so another day of feeling ill for me and next dose on Monday. 10 more to go, weekly. DH will make Sunday lunch and clean downstairs. He is currently asleep.

DD went to London for day yesterday, is doing GCSE prep and will go to gym today. DS (ASD) will be lying on sofa all day with his indoor rabbit.

Looks a nice day here.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2022 09:41

DS came in and told me - at length - something about the availability of backpacks in Skyrim. DH told me stuff about the recording history of Sloop John B. I listened to both.

Silkierabbit · 03/04/2022 09:46

Sorry that's wrong thread but its similar for here. Have a lovely time at wedding Lemons

I found Pfizer much kinder than AZ, no side effects from Pfizer.

MissConductUS · 03/04/2022 11:50

Math, good luck with the vaccination. CVS generally has both and due to the lower dose, you may well have fewer side effects with Pfizer.

I slept nine hours last night and woke up really groggy, which is unheard of for me. I also had an odd dream about attending an out-of-town wedding, which I haven't done for years. Either I'm still having side effects from the booster or I'm coming down with something,

The bloke is coming on Monday morning to fix the oven, One of us will work from home. It's tricky because my car is getting dropped off for service today to be worked on tomorrow and we don't want to reschedule it as the other car has to go in this month too. It's due for its NYS inspection (the same as your MOT I think) and to have the snow tyres swapped with the regular ones.

I'm debating going to church.

My weekend was going so well apart from a dreadful sore throat starting last night.
Oh bumming buggeration. Positive Covid test, that’s this week’s plans gone ☹️
I have no idea what the rules are in England now, will have a Google.
DH will have to sort himself out 😊

MissConductUS · 03/04/2022 14:40

Welcome, @YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp, and thanks for sharing your unfortunate covid testing news. I don't know what the rules are in England either. Smile

I decided to spend some extra time on the stationary bike and weight lifting, so I skipped church. I may still need to run to the supermarket for a few things. DH is still in bed. He's probably still feeling a bit rough from his covid booster on Friday.

Wedding was lovely. Beautiful place. Picture was the view from our room in the hotel.

How are you doing Silkie?

Watching basketball sounds fun I’ve seen a few wheelchair basketball tournaments which are intense.

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 22: Calmly through the day
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2022 16:02

Lemon What a lovely view!

I spent a couple of hours adding sources (scans and citations) to my family tree - with a nice glass of Roter Veltliner.

MissConductUS · 03/04/2022 17:32

Lemons, that's a gorgeous view. What body of water is that? We watch a lot of basketball here, especially DS who played it a bit in high school before he went all-in on rowing.

It's cold and raining here at the moment but the rain should stop in time for us to cook on the grill tonight. I'm really missing the oven.

Might have an abscess in my digestive tract, more investigation is being carried out on Thursday. They might want to operate to remove it, something I'm frankly terrified about. I mean, I was hoping to make 60 this year.

IWanderedLonely · 03/04/2022 19:01

Doctor Two that sounds scary, hope you get a good outcome.
I picked up a couple of books of paint colours yesterday, we need to redecorate our front room. I am utterly clueless. I used to love this when I was young, now it's all a mystery. What goes with what? What goes with a burgundy settee? Do I care?Confused

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2022 19:08

DoctorTwo That sounds worrying. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

On a calmer note:
Some time ago I got a fabulous recipe for bulgur salad from a work mate. I put it in my little book. Now, did I put it under b as in bulgur or w as in Weizengrütze? No, of course not - under f as in F's mother. Why?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2022 19:13

Iwandered Occasionally I wonder what it would be like to live in a - even vaguely - designed space instead of an office + archive/library. Where wallpaper matches carpets / furniture. But then I think - no. I'd have to clean it and keep it nice and designed. Grin

HildaTablet · 03/04/2022 20:06

Prok if it’s any consolation, I once worked in a striking building designed by a very famous architect. We weren’t allowed to pin anything to the walls on pain of…well, I’m not sure what, but it was forbidden because it wasn’t part of his vision . It did make life complicated at times when you just wanted to stick up a rota or a handy reminder of something.

Lemonsandlemonade · 03/04/2022 20:07

MissConductUS - it’s the sea in lovely west Wales.

Wow DoctorTwo - that sounds horrible. I’m sure it would be grand.

ShoesOnFirstThenCar · 03/04/2022 20:59

Lemons I can vouch that west Wales is indeed lovely! That is a beautiful view.
DoctorTwo wishing you the very best for Thursday 🤞🏻
Hilda you must be so proud of the DC!
IWandered I hate choosing paint colours, luckily DH has a good eye for that sort of thing so I just knowingly nod and agree

HelenaJustina · 03/04/2022 21:22

Glad you had a great time lemons venue looks gorgeous. Dull day here today, almost too mundane to report. Mass, lunch, work, walk, change beds, make lunchboxes, clean kitchen, iron uniforms…

Silkierabbit · 03/04/2022 21:25

DoctorTwo Wishing you luck for Thursday.

Beautiful view Lemons glad you had a nice time. I have been feeling quite grim with chemo past few days, lots of blood loss on Wed then emergency hospital tests on Thurs to see if transfusion needed, OK but really struggled there and slept most of days since and really bad gastric symptoms past couple of days and numb in lots of places. Round 3 tomorrow, urgh. Has your brother got any more news yet?

Had nice Sunday lunch today.

halfpasteleven · 03/04/2022 21:49

Best wishes to those who need them for the coming week.
We had a lovely family day, walked along the beach then dinner with my parents.
Hadn't seen them in a couple of weeks so it was nice to catch up in person.

ShoesOnFirstThenCar · 03/04/2022 21:50

I put Hilda in the previous post….no idea where that came from, I meant Helena sorry 🙄

Sorry to hear you’re having such a rough time Silkie , sounds really worrying, but glad you had a nice lunch. Hope the treatment process will improve for you going forward though. I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through but wishing you the very best x

SpringHasSprungYay · 03/04/2022 22:00

Lazy Sunday.... Garden centre this morning.
Then sainsburys with DS1 who moaned that I made us walk instead of drive 🤣

DS2 was out doing sports all day so did some baking & slobbing in front of the telly with DS1. I had a nap and a glass of wine too Smile

MissConductUS · 03/04/2022 22:51

Welcome, @SpringHasSprungYay, and thanks for sharing your mundane news. I had a nap today too. The second booster has made both DH and I fatigued this weekend. I wanted to bake but my oven is not working at the moment.

Doctortwo, are you getting scoped on Thursday? Where do they think the abscess is and have you started antibiotics?

I just got off zoom with the kids and MIL. DS is going to Baltimore next weekend for a national meeting of his university's student business club, so we probably won't see him on Zoom next Sunday. I think he'll have a fun time. And DD disclosed that she's been going to church at uni. She told us that a family she met there asked her to dinner tonight. I guess all of those years taking her as a child were worth something after all. Smile

The rain has stopped, so DH is getting the grill going before it starts again. If we get rained out here we'll have to have a takeaway.
