He sounds like the perfect addition for you all Silkie. Enjoy every single minute of him. He is a lucky boy to get to live with ye.

Good luck tomorrow.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2022 23:54

Mr Floof is adorable.

Wishing you well for your meeting tomorrow, Silkies. It shouldn't be this hard to find a school for DS.

Helena hope you weren't seriously injured. My local HS has security guards on staff who would have handled that incident. There's a dedicated police officer who handles emergencies too, but isn't there all the time.

Silkierabbit · 13/05/2022 02:32

Thanks Maths and Half. DD is totally in love and has catnapped Mr Floof, she kept coming out as she was having trouble with her new baby but just sent me this photo, very proud big sister.

3am DD emerges looking shattered saying she is exhausted by Mr Floof. I say I will take him and he was with me for a bit but its like having a new baby in the house. She has him back now but I think she is realising how much work babies can be. 😂He is so cute though and she is smitten.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/05/2022 08:37

Lovely that Mr. Floof is home. I hope he gets along with his mates. I wonder: is the size of kitten's paws an indicator of adult size as it is in dogs?

Best wishes to those in treatment or waiting for treatment! Flowers

No work for me today, but my colleague is off on holiday from next week and I have to take over her projects as well. Her leave has been in the calendar for ages, has been approved by all managers, she has sent a mail round with "stuff to do" - but, of course, on Monday morning they will appear at my desk asking in anguished tones: "Where is X?". It is always like that.

Silkierabbit · 13/05/2022 09:02

I am not sure about the paws, they don't seem that out of size and the lady said he will grow to be a huge Maine Coon as he is the biggest kitten and his Dad was huge. The ears are larger but think they will also still grow.

DD was delighted, she woke up to Mr Floof snuggled by her on the bed, she said he started by her feet then worked his way up. She said she cannot leave him today so she will stay home with him, he calls her if she leaves her bedroom just for 1 minute. She is totally smitten with him.

I feel so tired now after 3 nights of no sleep with steroids and now 1 night of baby Floof and have cold / cough, maybe allergies. Want to sleep all day but have 2 meetings for DS, one at 10am and one at 2pm.

Silkierabbit · 13/05/2022 09:10

DD sent me his picture on her bed.

Silkie, Mr Floof is adorable and will certainly grow up to be a handsome and very large overlord cat.

DD and DH made it home last night around 6:00. She had to move her things from the dorm room she had for the year to a new one. In the summer they consolidate all students staying on campus into one dormitory. It's quite new, lovely and has central air conditioning. The cats seemed pleased to see her.

We got a tex/mex takeaway, which she was looking forward to. She's having dinner tonight with her boyfriend and his family. On Saturday we're going to take my MIL out to dinner so that she gets a chance to see DD. After DS graduates next Saturday we're going to drop her back at her uni on our way home. It's just a small detour.

I saw something break the water on the surface of the reservoir this morning. It was a large turtle, but he dove back into the water too quickly to get a picture. I often see them in the summer, sunning themselves on the rocks.

It's nice to have DD home, even if it's just a bit more than a week.

My day off work: Did I sleep in? Did I go to a musuem or the botanical gardens?
Of course not Grin. I went and got chutneys and sauces from Vinh Loy for DH, got a book from a library for DH, bought a giant plant pot for DD, and bought snacks for all those hard working people in my household: DD = sustainability and ecological impact of libraries; DS = revising biology (hopefully), DH = preparing a f2f lecture (finally again).

mathanxiety · 13/05/2022 16:46

Glad your DD is home again, MissC. You have a busy week ahead.

Hope your meetings are going ok, Silkies.
The very regal mini Mr Floof looks as if he will be big. Some cat breeds have big paws but are not necessarily big in overall size. My Siberian has paws which are both big and furry on the underside. We have wood floors and she tends to do a lot of skidding. Jumps have to be carefully calculated.

DoctorTwo · 13/05/2022 18:23

Mr Floof is absolutely beautiful Silkie, it looks like he might me grooming your DD as his slave. Hope your meetings were productive and as stress free as possible, don't forget to see your GP and bsdger her for that Zopiclone. Honestly, you will be amazed at the difference in your night time. I had the 7.5mg tsblet, they also come in as a 3.75mg dose.

Please forgive the typos, sometimes my fingers forget where they're supposed to be, especially the little finger on my left hand.

Feeling crap I’m beginning to wonder hay fever with this cold it will not shift neg for covid.

MissConductUS · 13/05/2022 20:35

DrB, it's very likely hay fever this time of year. Mine has really kicked up and I can see a coating of tree pollen on the driveway. Tire tracks are visible, it's that bad.

Chemist next week if still feeling like this, thanks I can’t see stuff like that but goodness had no idea it’s that bad this year.

I mentioned to DH that the doors need cleaning. His answer: do they cease to function? Are they a danger to our health? No? A job that does not need doing, then. Grin

I had my MRI scan last night. No waiting, in and out in 30 minutes, so easy peasy. The MRI machine was new and much quieter than the old ones. The radiology tech said that the report would be available to the doctor on Monday, so I'll try to ring his office next week before we leave.

I have to be extra quiet when I get up early like this to avoid bothering DD, who is a very light sleeper. Now I listen to the BBC news with earbuds while I feed the cats and have my coffee.

I'm going to lift weights and spend some time on the stationary bike. Hopefully that will not bother anyone.

We're going to a posh seafood place for dinner tonight with my lovely MIL. We love it there, so something to look forward to.

I like his thinking!!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/05/2022 15:01

Halfpast me too, I agreed instantly.
There is a difference between household chores that really need to be done and the household chores I was brought up to think were absolutely neccessary.

DrBrennerFan · 14/05/2022 15:02

🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲is all I’m saying don’t ask. (Off to fill and plan shopping baskets full of Dr Brenner stuff)

MissConductUS · 14/05/2022 17:31

Prok, my doors need cleaning too. Changing the bedsheets is a higher priority at the moment.

I've gone shopping and now have the fridge and freezer stocked with all of DD's preferred foods. She used to be a very picky eater but has gotten much better since going to uni.

I took these photos in case anyone thought I was kidding about being able to see tire tyre tracks in the tree pollen on the driveway. The good news is that with all of the rain we've had the lawn is really lush.

I wouldn’t dream of calling you a liar pollen can get thick in places.

mathanxiety · 15/05/2022 01:21

Once again, Swedish TV allowed me to stream the Eurovision. DD4 made dinner. I must have looked pre-occupied.

We turned off the AC and opened windows for the first time in days. It's cooled down, and we're supposed to have rain tomorrow. I'm going to make a rhubarb and strawberry crumble.

MissConductUS · 15/05/2022 11:16

DrB, I didn't think anyone thought I was lying, perhaps just indulging in a bit of hyperbole. We have so many trees around the house that we get a lot of the tree pollen.

We had a lovely dinner with my MIL last night. I usually get the lobster roll, but decided to change it up this time and had the Maryland lump crab cakes, which came with apple fritters and sauteed spinach. They were delicious.

My rhododendron is starting to bloom.

Lobster rolls sound lovely but all your dinner does as well. Flowers look lovely.

My DB and partner are on their way to Nice. I am on my way to bed, because I need to go to work tomorrow.

Spent the day reading through church records on microfilm. When 3 births are recorded with the same first name, only the last one survied (if any) and you know you are looking for a grandparent with this first name. As first names connected the generations. Quite a successful day in a boring sort of way Grin
