Yes yes yes went to Gp had to drop his script in got help with correct bit to photo on the passport all sorted now. So pleased, told him I’m saving serious money for London trip museums etc for my birthday as well as Birmingham rebooked he can have baccy money if he wants. I’m refusing to use overdraft from next week when it’s paid off he’s going to bloody learn.

Champagneforeveryone · 03/05/2022 20:40

I seem to have fallen foul of the UK Passport Agency fiasco. Application went in a month ago but they're still saying they are waiting for my old passport.

We haven't booked anything yet until it actually arrives. I know in the big scheme of things it's a nice problem to have, but this will be our last holiday with DS before he goes to uni. DH hates flying with a passion so is doing a poor attempt at pretending he's disappointed 😆

KathieFerrars · 03/05/2022 21:04

Just come back from a head, neck and shoulders massage. Very nice. Snore!

HelenaJustina · 03/05/2022 21:18

Oh good luck champagne fingers crossed it turns up soon!

IWanderedLonely · 03/05/2022 21:22

DoctorTwo these were at Bodnant, beautiful gardens, plus all the rhododendrons and azaleas were in flower.
Lems I have psoriasis and when it flares up I know it's a sign that I'm stressed/overdoing things. Hope you get an appointment soon. I used the medicated T gel shampoo, it was very good ifa little smelly

Silkierabbit · 03/05/2022 23:57

I was definitely not calm today. Had call with LA re EHCP which been trying for 4 years to get sorted and they had said they would pay for tutors but they retracted that today and also said cahms support for mutism would be e-mail links to give to DS so he can teach himself not to be mute. Just contacted lawyers but even they aren't calling back, probably swamped with SN claims atm.

Plumber did come back with a very reasonable quote for adding the bathroom sink so if we can get hold of him will get that done soon. Mr Floof needs a new sink. Should have got a bigger one, it was pre Mr Floof. Agreed a time for 14th as well. Changed bedding on bed. Dexa tomorrow and oncologist on Thursday, they said in person but its came through for video but I also need bloods. No idea what is going on.

Lemonsandlemonade · 04/05/2022 05:48

Aww Silkie that’s awful re your DS. I hope you get what your DS deserves soon.

iWondered yeah I’ve had T Gel stuff is good. I only get it really when I’m stressed or need to slow down.

Silkies Sad how incredibly frustrating. Why have a SN or youth MH service at all if it's going to be so useless?

I have a tentative ID for one of the finch pairs, about 60% certainty for purple finch. While browsing, I fell into an ornithological rabbit hole and as a result I now know far more about hummingbirds and their habits than the average middle aged Irish woman. I also know far more than I ever thought I would about Gauguin, and the importance of formation processes as a tool for the analysis of archaeological sites, thanks to DD3's outsourcing of her proofreading. DD writes far more coherently than I thought she did, though granted it's been a good few years since she was in eighth grade.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/05/2022 18:35

Hello all, finally caught up with all your news.
DD got a uni paper back graded 1 (exceeds expectations to a very high degree). Sometimes I want to go back to her primary school and have a word with the teacher who told me not to expect much of her. A math teacher missing dyscalculia in a child that had and still has difficulties distinguishing a 2 from a 4.😡
DS wrote math - 2 down 2 to go.
My terasse now gets visits from a pair of magpies (Elstern). They only come to drink.

HelenaJustina · 04/05/2022 18:51

Congratulations to your DD prok what a triumph for her (and you!)

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/05/2022 19:04

Thank you Helena - it is not on me. I think I did too little for her and too much for DS. She was quiet, DS caused trouble for others. And I fell into the trap.

MissConductUS · 04/05/2022 19:11

Silkie, we had problems getting services sorted for DS too, but it didn't take four years. That's awful.

Math, I assume that Gaugain and geological formation appeared in different papers. I'm quite a fan of the French Impressionists myself.

Prok, well done to both of your kids, especially DD. My DS was also the victim of low expectations when he was little. Now he's graduating from uni with a very good job waiting for him.

The Duck Bros swam right past me this morning. I think this is the closest I've ever gotten to them.

That's a great photo Miss.

Silkie, I don't know how you do it- I'm at my wits end just reading about your fight for your DS!
But I know you will fight- that's what we do for our children.

It was sunny and warm here today- I wore a dress to work for the first time in a long time without black tights..

Pinklimey · 04/05/2022 22:21

After having yet another medical episode yesterday, decided to spend the day in bed. Feel all antsy now and am wondering if it is worth going out to the teeny tesco near me before it closes.

MissConductUS · 05/05/2022 01:23

Welcome, @Pinklimey , and thanks for sharing your recuperation and shopping news. What do you need from Tesco?

OP posts:
Pinklimey · 05/05/2022 01:48

Anything really. Just the exercise of the "you may go to the shop once a day" style. I didn't go in the end. Too long procrastinating. Perhaps tomorrow.

DoctorTwo · 05/05/2022 18:28

I have an appointment with a surgeon towards the end of June, so in about 7 weeks, so I think whatever is wrong with me can't be that serious. All I know is I'm still getting pain after eating even though I take a capsule to help my digestion. I'll let the thread know what occurs (assuming I haven't keeled over from shock 😮)

Lemonsandlemonade · 05/05/2022 19:38

Hello all,
Just watching the dark tourist on Netflix. It’s good I like it.

Had a family session in work today. Parents seemed happy and engaged.

I am now shattered!

IWanderedLonely · 05/05/2022 21:31

Just eaten the best part of a Bournville Old Jamaica chocolate bar. Now feel a bit sickly and very guilty.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/05/2022 21:37

Spent 10 h at work today - two deadlines have to be met and lots of minor 'in-project' jobs to do.
DD has started on her sign language course and finds it enjoyable and challenging. It seems to help if you can dance and know what your left and what your right hand is.

HelenaJustina · 06/05/2022 06:27

prok I’ve got a to-do list like that this week. One item reads ‘write budget for 22/23’
As you can imagine writing the entire budget for a busy primary is not really a one line entry item on a to-do list! About 100 in-job tasks need to be completed but writing them all down on my list would take too long.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/05/2022 14:46

Helena I do not envy you!
But - the deadlines have been met. Well, mostly - some content was not ready (engineers and their empty promises) and I had to go in on my day off.

I started my weekend by buying flowers: yarrow, sage, and a thunbergia (braunäugige Susanne) and some geraniums for family Morose to stamp on.

MissConductUS · 06/05/2022 16:14

I spotted the Loch Ness Monster in the reservoir this morning. 😀

It's actually a large waterfowl that came up for air in between dives looking for fish to eat. A goose possibly. It's hard to tell just from the neck.

Our cat sitter came over to meet the kitties and to see how to get in and out of the house and deal with the alarm system. She's new. The last one we used seems to have moved out of the area. She seemed very nice and efficient. We just need her for two days while away for DS's graduation. I'm unduly excited about the fact that DH managed to finagle VIP tickets for us.
