Surely it's like 5 years ago?

Spending a lovely Saturday night with a bottle of wine while DH is away, reminiscing. I was 20, younger than my own DC now. Those were the days. No responsibilities, half a lager, my drink of choice was 70p, 10 Silk Cut we're about £2. Could go out with a tenner, get shit-faced and come back with change!

It's quite traumatic isn't it? I always think of the 90s as the previous decade. Bah. Enjoy your wine Wine

StarCourt · 19/03/2022 21:40

I'm watching too I was 26 then

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 19/03/2022 21:41

WHUT!!! I cant be that old.

Papayamya · 19/03/2022 21:41

It's scary isn't it!

SpottyStripyDuvet · 19/03/2022 21:48

Yes that was almost depressing. I was only 16 but would go to the pub on a Saturday night. £6 would get me 2 pints of cider and black (£1.43 each), a bap with chips and beans (60p) and a taxi home (£2.40). God I was already feeling old today for various reasons and this is just making it worse!!

ohMaggieMaggieMae · 19/03/2022 21:48

Oh happy days. You are right though. It does not seem that long ago at all. Jeez, I feel old. Grin

Dancetherain · 19/03/2022 21:51

Watching too, only seems like yesterday! I was only 12. My older dc are all older than that. My 13 yo dd just pointed out that I am pretty old!!

Carpediem15 · 19/03/2022 22:01

Take That were really bad dancers in those days, Robbie looks about 14.

Carpediem15 · 19/03/2022 22:03

I used to know KWS when they made this, the guy in the red jacket was a DJ in the club I worked in.

MrsMigginsCat · 19/03/2022 22:03

I feel like my parents did when they used to talk about the 60s which seemed like the Stone Age when they used to talk about it. Gah, I hate being old!

Enjoying this but it passed me by a bit.

StarCourt · 19/03/2022 22:04

Laughing at Mark's frantic dancing

woodhill · 19/03/2022 22:05

Yes newly wed, doesn't seem that long ago

StarCourt · 19/03/2022 22:05

Such music diversity back then

MrsMigginsCat · 19/03/2022 22:06

Jesus, I just asked Alexa how old Annie Lennox is. 67!

80s teen I can’t believe it’s 40 years ago it’s just frightening.

saltnvinegarlover · 19/03/2022 22:09

As the tampax ad music 😂

StarCourt · 19/03/2022 22:09

@saltnvinegarlover exactly what thought!

drawingpad · 19/03/2022 22:10

Can't understand a word that Dr Alban singer is saying but his yellow star makes him look like he is fresh from a trial on I'm a celebrity Grin

MintMe · 19/03/2022 22:11

I said the same to DH. I feel like the 90s was the last decade of really good genre specific music.

And yes! Take That dance routines were shite! But there was no manufacture back then. Wet Wet Wet?! Boy band? Man band?

Innocently singing 'Eeez are good' at 12 years old.

James Dean Bradfield 👌🏻👌🏻

Still think The Orb are shite though. Not one time you could whistle...

MintMe · 19/03/2022 22:11

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 19/03/2022 22:14

My first gig was The Eurythmics in 1983.

SexPeopleLynn · 19/03/2022 22:15

Just watching it myself and honestly can't believe it was 30 years ago. I was only 12 but remember recording every TOPT and cutting out Smash Hits lyrics page so I could sing along.

Oh god I had the biggest crush on Mark Owen. The dancing is insane.

Does anyone listen to Absolute Radio? Do you remember Ritchie on the breakfast show learning all the lyrics to Its My Life and rapping them along with Dr Alban over the telephone. Hilarious

MrsMigginsCat · 19/03/2022 22:15

@TheAbbotOfUnreason

My first gig was The Eurythmics in 1983.
Mine was Wet, Wet, Wet in 1988 for my best friend's 16th birthday.
