Surely it's like 5 years ago?

Spending a lovely Saturday night with a bottle of wine while DH is away, reminiscing. I was 20, younger than my own DC now. Those were the days. No responsibilities, half a lager, my drink of choice was 70p, 10 Silk Cut we're about £2. Could go out with a tenner, get shit-faced and come back with change!

Annie Lennox is my favourite artist of all time.

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 22:21

My first gig was U2, The Joshua Tree tour at Cardiff Arms Park, can't remember the year, maybe '87

WarmSausageTea · 19/03/2022 22:22

My first gig was The Eurythmics in 1983.

It boggles my mind that 1983 is closer to the end of WWII than it is to today.

WeAreTheHeroes · 19/03/2022 22:22

We were just saying that "Why?" By Annie Lennox goes on a bit Grin

But lots of good stuff and a reminder of my uni days.

CaveMum · 19/03/2022 22:23

Watching too. I was 11 in 1992 and all these songs bring back sooooo many memories!

My bedroom wall was plastered in Take That posters, as well as Freddie the Horse & Pony magazine pony Grin

They say the music you listened to as a teen will always resonate the most with you through your life as you tend to have such strong experiences/emotions at this time and music helps form incredibly strong memories.

Marti Pellow

Omg that man Grin😁

Shortpoet · 19/03/2022 22:24

If you want to feel really old, 1992 is the same number of years ago that Marty McFly travelled in Back to the Future. (1985 to 1955)

WarmSausageTea · 19/03/2022 22:24

My first gig was Secret Affair, I think it was 1979 at the Rainbow. 43 years ago, where does the time go?

saltnvinegarlover · 19/03/2022 22:25

Some cracking tunes on it bringing back memories from my clubbing days

Floydthebarber · 19/03/2022 22:25

How many!?

I was only 7 in 1992 but 30 years seems like such a long time. I remember the songs on totp2, I sang them, I still sing them!

In 1992, 30 years ago would have been 1962. Which seems like another world.

StarCourt · 19/03/2022 22:25

Mine was Siouxsie and the Banshees 1982 I was 15

Mrsoh2022 · 19/03/2022 22:25

Some great bloody tunes though, 30 years though!! Where has it gone!

TrooBloo · 19/03/2022 22:25

I watched too. The dancing! 😂

TeenTraumaTrials · 19/03/2022 22:26

OMG we've just come across this. I started university in 1992. Watching this with DD make me feel at the same time about 25 ( as in this was just a few years ago) and ancient

slavetothekittens · 19/03/2022 22:27

But..but...just discussing music with my daughter and I cannot believe Panic At The Disco's I Write Sins Not Tragedies is 16 years old...I'm sure it was only a couple of years ago.....

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 19/03/2022 22:29

Thanks for making me realise that my pension age is looming ever closer Smile

Saw Blondie a few years ago - they were fabulous.

And still regularly going to see The Undertones.

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 22:29

OMG Billy Ray Cyrus😂

Mrsoh2022 · 19/03/2022 22:30

Achey Breaky heart Grin

TeenTraumaTrials · 19/03/2022 22:30

My first gig was Wet Wet Wet too. And then we went to see them when I was pregnant with DD who is now nearly 17. Love a bit of nostalgia.

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 22:30

Look at that mullet!

saltnvinegarlover · 19/03/2022 22:30

He is strangely sexy Wink

MrsMigginsCat · 19/03/2022 22:31

Be honest, who doesn't want to chop Billy Ray Cyrus's ponytail off?

OP posts:
StarCourt · 19/03/2022 22:31

woodhill · 19/03/2022 22:31
