Top of the Pops 1992. No way is that 30 years ago.

Surely it's like 5 years ago?

Spending a lovely Saturday night with a bottle of wine while DH is away, reminiscing. I was 20, younger than my own DC now. Those were the days. No responsibilities, half a lager, my drink of choice was 70p, 10 Silk Cut we're about £2. Could go out with a tenner, get shit-faced and come back with change!

@Lio

Wet Wet Wet are headlining Let's Rock the Moor in May (different singer though, I think)
The singer is now Kevin Simm who was in Liberty X - he was on 1 show or similar talking about it.
Jellykat · 19/03/2022 22:46

Cece Peniston had a cracking voice, crap at dancing tho it seemed..

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 22:46

She must be very hot under those lights

CaveMum · 19/03/2022 22:47

Awww, I was waiting for them to play Ebeneezer Goode!

Prometheus · 19/03/2022 22:47

It’s amazing how much clothes the women are wearing. Like - the same amount as the men! They’re not half naked or wearing a bikini. And bands have white and black people in them, and white and black people are singing all different types of music - it’s nowhere near as segregated as it is now.

@Downsize2021

I was diagnosed with psoriasis although formerly I had a fungal skin infection. I rotate aveeno and hemp moisturiser from the body shop with hydrocortisone cream when it's really bad. If I'm really vigilant and remember to apply cream i can get it to a smooth red patch with a papery texture as opposed to the flaky inflamed monstrosity it sometimes is, but I dream of losing the discolouration. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
Royal jelly tablets and watching TOTP from your youth.

(I know you’ve posted on the wrong thread, but if it helps my DM’s long standing psoriasis cleared up completely after taking royal jelly)

@MrsMigginsCat

This time 30 years ago I'd be in the pub, mindful that last orders would be in 25 minutes so I'd be scrabbling together some change to get a cheeky double Bacardi and coke before 11pm. I'd be wearing a bodysuit, probably with the crotch undone by now - they were a bitch to do up after a few drinks - high waisted mom style jeans (wish I'd kept them) and I'd have a Silk Cut in my hand.
Bloody body suits - all that faffing in the loo when too pissed to find the effing poppers and ooh the chafing. Inner thighs all rash red. But shit we looked young and gorgeous (even if I didn't appreciate how much at the time).

Loved that Shakespeare's sisters video. Achy bloody breaky heart not so much - I really like Miley now though.

MissAmbrosia · 19/03/2022 22:49

I got married in 1992! And was made redundant due to the Single Market.

PurpleOranges · 19/03/2022 22:50

Oh Annie, how I love you ❤️

blockbustervideo · 19/03/2022 22:50

Thoroughly enjoyed that! Finishing off on Cece Peniston, absolute classic! And now I just want to dance around the sitting room singing in to my hairbrush Grin

Squiff70 · 19/03/2022 22:52

Annie

Fizbosshoes · 19/03/2022 22:55

Just watched as well. I would have been 14 in 1992. I loved Take That.
We also mentioned how unglamorous but beautiful Mariah Caey looked, and Jimmy Nail basically just talking.

lashy · 19/03/2022 22:55

My first year of employment and remember all the words to all the songs I've heard tonight. Seems like it was only 10yrs ago to me.

WeAreTheHeroes · 19/03/2022 22:55

I had a long waistcoat and short skirt combo a la CeCe Peniston in 1992. It was also the time when bodies were in fashion, thanks Donna Karan.

Lio · 19/03/2022 22:57

The band look like they are having an absolute blast here

Katya213 · 19/03/2022 22:59

Yes it is 😩and I remember absolutely hating that last song “finally.”

Katya213 · 19/03/2022 22:59

Jimmy Niall though…that singing was shocking!

Carpediem15 · 19/03/2022 23:03

@Katya213

Jimmy Niall though…that singing was shocking!
They filmed some of the scenes for Auf Wiedersehen Pet in our local area and he was an absolute pratt then.
Fizbosshoes · 19/03/2022 23:04

I can't believe I remember the words to nearly every song! Even the ones I didn't like!

Jellykat · 19/03/2022 23:05

Best Annie Lennox moment - her and Bowie doing 'under pressure' at Freddies tribute gig..

Downsize2021 · 19/03/2022 23:12

Thanks @TheAbbotOfUnreason
So much shame posting on the wrong thread! My brother used to call me down to his basement room whenever Prince, "starfish and coffee" was on. Or anything by R.E.M. Still listen to both.

Dontlickthetrolley · 19/03/2022 23:12

I switched over just in time for Jimmy Nail. And had a lovely kareokee session with the last few songs! Am now surprised at how well I'm doing with the Annie Lennox songs, this is a great concert.

TimBoothseyes · 19/03/2022 23:14

It was strange because I forgot that a lot of those songs were released then....in my defence I had DD in'92 and I barely remembered my own name back then Grin

woodhill · 20/03/2022 11:53

Don't know why Deeply Dippy didn't feature, it was such a bit hit
