Report in the Guardian that she has had her passport returned and that a negotiating team are in place.

Too early for celebrations but I have got my fingers crossed behind my back.

OMG finally! I hope she makes it. I'll be watching the news and following this thread. I've been following her stories for years.

BBC is reporting it as she is expected to be on a plane soon now. As certain as they can be.

And let's not forget Anoosheh Ashoori who is also being reported as released and coming home.

If you'd have taken money for cars in Manchester and not delivered them you'd be sat right now in a dentists's chair in an unsignposted under-arch welding shop having your ears redesigned. And nobody would be able to hear you scream.

The Guardian says that Reuters is reporting that they’ve been handed over to a British team and are expected to leave Iran today.

Wait; they’re saying Nazanin has been handed over, no word on Anoosheh as yet 🤞

I can't quite believe it after all this time. I'm holding my breath until she is out of Iranian airspace and perhaps until her plane lands and we see her actually emerge from it.

Strange how the issues around the debt owed are only now being resolved when the UK is looking for alternative oil supplies...

It is great news, though and I am delighted for her. Although if Johnson starts crowing about it, I will need a sick bucket. Don't let's forget the fuck up he made.

So emotional when I heard this break. Waiting to hear the amazing news that her plane has landed and she is reuinted with her husband and daughter.

I just looked it all up.

He apologised, said he should have been clearer and that his words had been misinterpreted.

He said she was there teaching journalism. So no way to misinterpret. Either he revealed the truth or got it wrong because he doesnt read his briefs but, either way, he shouldnt have said it. Abs he wouldnt just say he got it wrong.

After, when he was trying to divert attention away from what he said, he released a brief saying he would begin looking for a way to pay back the £400m. Basically, he publicly linked her being detained with the payment of that £400m. He made the money the story and then when the scandal passed, he gave up dealing with the money and didnt try to sort out paying it. But Iran had clung onto the idea that the money and her being detained were now linked. I remembered that happening, but had no idea he was doing it to move the narrative away from what he had said.

Her husband and lawyers have said that him bringunf up the £400m after naming those comments had made everything worse for her and unless they paid the debt, they've never get her home.

This is brilliant news. I can't begin to imagine how she feels right now and how her family feel.

I wish they'd kept this under wraps until she was on British soil.

The only flight from Tehran today is Iranian Airlines IA711. It's due to arrive in Heathrow at 12:24.

IF she is on it, I guess we'll be hearing soon.

It would be understandable that no one is saying anything until it's safely landed.

Although I suppose she could be on a different flight, eg chartered.

Very moving to see it announced on the news, and the newsreader getting emotional. I hope she is left in peace to do as she wants when she’s home.
