Just having moan really. Lighter butter, lighter philedelphia, lighter cheese, non of them taste anywhere near as good as the original. I also cannot bear the taste if sweetener in drinks. Currently trying to lose a bit of weight and I am doinh OK but really missing an indulgent treat.

@deadlanguage

The no added sugar/reduced sugar and salt baked beans are way nicer than the standard ones. Just had normal ones in the work canteen and they are bizarrely sweet!
Urgh, I hate them. Dh bought the low sugar ones by mistake and I thought my sense of taste must have gone funny due to covid. There was a bitter aftertaste. Horrible. I'd prefer to have a smaller portion of beans than eat them again.

I could start a whole new thread about how everything is 'lighter' and 'low/lower fat' while at the same time being stuffed with unnecessary added sugar, even savoury dishes (chilli con carne, anyone?) where sugar has absolutely no place at all.
