Being curious how many of you are thinking to vote Labour in May election just as a revenge to the superiority that carried by Tory?

I haven't done my research yet, so can't say certainly I'd do it. But they're lots of things we are not happy with the local council. Usually may not warrant a change of vote (probably just not bother to vote). But the whole partygate thing made me almost determined to vote Labour in May.

Tory didn't care what the public feel or think, carrying on to find excuses for their corrupted government. And that guy, that guy who's born as a natural lier, I can't even bear to hear his voice anymore. Something needs to be done, when their party refuse to change or at least show the public their remorse. I feel I need to do something.

How many of you feel the same?

Anyone fancy setting up a left of centre party that believes women are born with a womb and men born with testes?(accepting the rare congenital disorders that this may not be the case)

CremeEggThief · 13/03/2022 14:50

Well it's not as a revenge, but of course I will because I would rather die than vote Tory.

SamphiretheStickerist · 13/03/2022 14:51

The whole trans thing is a red herring and is not the hill I'm willing to die on when it comes to voting.

Again, not a "trans thing" and there are quite a few real women currently having their lives ruined by the sustained attack on women's rights.

Vote however you want but don't reframe the choices of others with disinformation.

Soapboxqueen · 13/03/2022 14:53

@Hospedia

Why would any intelligent woman vote for a party that despises them and cares nothing for their dignity and safety?

Because I don't hate poor people, the disabled, and the elderly and because I want a leader who actually looks and acts like a leader rather than a hungover journalist who doesn't own a comb and is an international embarrassment.

The whole trans thing is a red herring and is not the hill I'm willing to die on when it comes to voting.

I would love a leader who wasn't a complete twat also but I'm afraid the 'trans thing' aka women's basic rights is no red herring.

Poor women, disabled women, elderly women will all be impacted by the erosion and dismantling of women's rights.

CantStandMeCow · 13/03/2022 14:54

Always have, but not now.

Saucery · 13/03/2022 14:56

My local Labour candidate did listen carefully and respectfully to me when I asked why Labour couldn’t define ‘woman’, although I got the impression he didn’t agree with me entirely. He has a visible presence on local social media, with a good understanding of who is responsible for what so he can refer problems on if he can’t deal with them. I was quite impressed with him tbh.
Conservative candidate….no idea, never seen them, would have to look them up to find out who it is.

So it will be Labour for me in May. I disagree with their stance on gender / sex issues centrally but I disagree with far, far more that comes out of the mendacious Tory mouths and the harms they’ve done over the last few years. And that’s speaking as someone who has voted Tory in the past. My MP is always very emollient and polite when I email him about concerns but there aren’t enough of the traditional Tory types left in Parliament to stop the gravy train Johnson and his cronies are driving gleefully into their nest-feathered retirements.

BoogieFeet · 13/03/2022 14:57

Sadly not - I'm a woman, and I won't be voting for a party that doesn't know what a woman is.
I had hoped Keir would make Labour electable again, but apparently we'll be stuck with the bloody Tories for a lot longer..

Hospedia · 13/03/2022 14:57

Oh please, some posters will make sure bloody everything on MN comes down to transphobia and they'll find a way to shoehorn it into any thread.

Do I think trans people are trying to erase me? No. Do I think trans people want to get rid of my rights? No. Do I think there are some loudmouth types on both sides of the debate fuelling it with a load of hyperbole? Fuck yes.

I believe in safe spaces for born/biological women, I believe in safe spaces for trans men/trans women, and I believe everyone should have the right to a seat at the metaphorical table.

Calennig · 13/03/2022 14:57

More so I'd argue as lack of cash/ablity to get futher a field will mean finding and accessing alternative servies is more likely to be beyond them.

Dammitthisisshit · 13/03/2022 14:58

I'll be voting Tory.

I'm not particularly thrilled at the thought but it's the only possible way of stopping Labour getting in - a vote for any other party would be a dead one.

The thought of what Labour would do to women's and girls rights and services scares me more than anything Tory have done.

^^this
BoJo is an international embarrassment. I have never before voted Tory. But I am a woman, a mother of my daughters. And I can’t vote for a party that I think will erode womens rights irreparably.

Magdalena543 · 13/03/2022 14:59

No, Labour don't even know what a woman is so how can they be trusted with women's issues?

JeanFinch · 13/03/2022 14:59

Not voting for Labour. Women do not have penises.

purpleboy · 13/03/2022 15:01

No for labour, not until they understand biology. I will not be throwing mine or my daughters hard fought rights down the drain. Once they're gone we will never get them back.

Return2thebasic · 13/03/2022 15:02

I googled it up (not been reading news at all for a week). I now realised my post was created at the exact wrong time. Blush

Why don't the politicians see women are scared and angry?

Imherenowandthen · 13/03/2022 15:04

I'll be voting labour because it's the only way to get rid of a Tory government. I'm not a fan of Keir Starmer, but I despise Johnson, so it's an easy choice!

stimpyyouidiot · 13/03/2022 15:04

Labour don't know what a woman is therefore I cannot vote for them anymore.

Erase? Transphobia? Who said that?

I base my comments on the work I do, the direct and very real effects of lobbying by Stonewall et al that means the service I work for has lost 40% of its funding specifically because, as a single sex service, we are not diverse enough, explicitly explained as we don't include men

Not hyperbole. And I can't trust Labour not to take away more of the funding because we remain a single sex service for women who have been sexually assaulted, raped and beaten.

NutCheeseBag · 13/03/2022 15:09

@OhMygodddd

Voting for labour is a vote against women and their rights to safety…I won’t ever do it!
I’m in Scotland. As a woman I don’t see who I can vote for here.
Soapboxqueen · 13/03/2022 15:10

Agreed
FourTeaFallOut · 13/03/2022 15:12

No. Not voting Labour again until they sort their misogynistic shit out. They've made it quite clear they don't want me and my bigoted affection for truth and rationality to vote for them and I'm happy to oblige.

CremeEggThief · 13/03/2022 15:12

Anyone thinking the Tories are going to be the defenders of women and our rights is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Wake up. The Tories LIE, LIE, LIE and then LIE some more. They're not even trying to hide it any more.

FourTeaFallOut · 13/03/2022 15:14

Yes, the Tories don't give a fuck about women but they can pick one out in a crowd without dissolving into a puddle of bullshit.

echobeachsomeday · 13/03/2022 15:15

Not voting for labour but don't know who to vote for at all currently.

Because they think that a splinter in the arse is better than pissing off a very vocal Twitter contingent.
MsFogi · 13/03/2022 15:15

@TerraNovaTwo

No. Labour will definitely NOT be getting my vote! Women do not have penises.
This!
