How many biscuits do you have with your tea?

I just had four, but they are small, 26 calories and 2.6 net carbs each. High in fibre and low in sugar. They are basically dust biscuits but you get used to them.

Anyway, it made me wonder whether I'd be considered greedy by MN standards 😂

None - because I don't drink tea! 😆

MinglingFlamingo · 10/03/2022 19:17

MissBPotter · 10/03/2022 19:19

Do you remember when people used to lay them out on a plate? Why do we not do that now?

I do! Blush

Time. Transferring to a plate is time from pack to cup to tummy wasted.

Davros · 10/03/2022 19:56

In put them on a plate/dish for visitors. 2 per mug, sometimes 3

I am smug in my self-control. I bought a pack of Belgian chocolate Lotus Biscoff on Sunday and I still haven't opened them. They are there for when I want them Wink.

2 biscuits for me, but I don’t have a cup of tea every day.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/03/2022 07:00

None. I hardly ever buy them unless we’re expecting the sort of guests who’ll expect biscuits*, because I can’t eat just two - not unless they’re horrible custard creams, which I’d never buy anyway.:

On the rare occasions when I do buy a packet of favourites (Garibaldi) they’ll all be gone within a couple of hours.

*Like one who used to stay, who’d make a pot of tea first thing in the morning (only time the teapot every got used) and then ask where our biscuit tin was.

DinosApple · 11/03/2022 07:09

None.
unless it's cow biscuits. In which case half a packet.

I don't buy them very often Grin.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 11/03/2022 07:16

None. Never have them in the house as they get forgotten about, go stale & get binned.

Don’t like cake either.

OverByYer · 11/03/2022 07:17

2 but only now and again. Not every time I have a cup.

WildRosie · 11/03/2022 08:18

BeaLola. Yes. Mine came from Booth's but I don't know if all supermarkets sell them.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/03/2022 09:08

If anyone fancies making some, I can recommend this v quick and easy recipe - only problem is that they’re lethally more-ish!

Oat biscuits, preheat oven to 180, 160 fan.
Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
Melt together 75g butter, 1 tbsp Golden Syrup, I tbsp milk.

Mix in 75g each of SR flour, oats, sugar.
It’s not in the recipe but I add some lemon zest, too.

12 roughly rounded dollops on baking sheet, whack in the oven for 8-10 mins, should still be a bit soft on taking out.
And if your dh is anything like mine, make sure you get your share before he scoffs the lot.
