How many biscuits do you have with your tea?

I just had four, but they are small, 26 calories and 2.6 net carbs each. High in fibre and low in sugar. They are basically dust biscuits but you get used to them.

Anyway, it made me wonder whether I'd be considered greedy by MN standards 😂

@usernotfound0000

Chocolate type ones like a kit kat/penguin I would just have 1, custard cream/bourbon/hob nob type would be 2. But biscuits are definitely my weakness so don't really allow them in the house. I've been known to eat a full pack of bourbons in a day before (I was 9 months pregnant though Blush)
I'm sorry but you started this controversy so I need to stand up for what I believe in: penguins and Kit Kats are absolutely not biscuits and have no place in this discussion Grin
SmudgeButt · 10/03/2022 14:56

I do like a kit kat with a cup of tea, or a twix!

I was brought up knowing that 2 is the 'right' number of biscuits - I have no idea why. Maybe because for a child a couple of custard creams or rich teas is plenty of sugar? Although we were only allowed one chocolate digestive - if we wanted a second biscuit it had to be a plainer one.

I stick to those rules even now, except for when I've given blood and will then eat one of those packages they hand out.

SmudgeButt · 10/03/2022 15:04

would you prefer me to admitting to liking guacamole on a slice of cheese with my cuppa Assam??

BarbaraofSeville · 10/03/2022 15:04

Cheese is acceptable with tea as long as it's paired with fruit cake.

Penguins and kitkats do count as biscuits. What else could they be?

They're chocolate bars. I could kind of just about get on board with a Penguin being a biscuit but a Kit Kat? No way!
AuntieStella · 10/03/2022 15:09

None

Or I guzzle at least 2/3 of the packet

No off switch, no middle ground!

Fruitcake! One of the vilest inventions in the kitchen!!
HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 10/03/2022 15:10

Depends what biscuits. Chocolate digestives, custard creams, biscoff and shortbread I can quite easily sit and eat a full pack in one sitting. I've also just discovered le petit biscotte and le petit beurre biscuits which are frigging amazing!! Anything else such as plain digestives, rich tea malted milks maybe 2-3

rainbowandglitter · 10/03/2022 15:10

None, I don't really eat biscuits. Definitely never understood the dunking. Soggy biscuits, disgusting Grin

TheYearOfSmallThings · 10/03/2022 15:10

Technically one, but in reality three.

Georgeskitchen · 10/03/2022 15:20

2×McVities digestives 😋

BoogieFeet · 10/03/2022 15:25

None, and given how much tea/coffee I drink that is just as well.
But now I’m starting to think how nice some cheese would be..

dworky · 10/03/2022 15:25

It's a challenge for me not to polish off the packet, tbh.

PurpleDaisies · 10/03/2022 15:26

None but I do eat biscuits at other times. Usual portion is two unless they’re big.

gingerhills · 10/03/2022 15:27

Normally none, because I drink about six cups of tea a day. But if I do, maybe a couple.

sofakingcool · 10/03/2022 15:33

I don't

They are my weakness in life and I'm already on my way to being the size of a house (currently a penthouse suite Blush)

00100001 · 10/03/2022 15:36

@YellowPlant

Three.

Do you remember when people used to lay them out on a plate? Why do we not do that now?

I have a wee plate that is my biscuit plate. I out my biscuits on there for transportation purposes and somewhere for them to be whilst waiting to be dunked.

I have 2-3

Frlrlrubert · 10/03/2022 15:38

Either none, or half the packet.

Lunificent · 10/03/2022 15:39

1 or 2, but they’d be nice and sugary and lardy.

SmallChange11 · 10/03/2022 15:40

2 digestives apart from Friday's which is now known in my household as 3 biscuit Friday.

If I could I'd easily have 4 but have to restrain myself.
