How many biscuits do you have with your tea?

I just had four, but they are small, 26 calories and 2.6 net carbs each. High in fibre and low in sugar. They are basically dust biscuits but you get used to them.

Anyway, it made me wonder whether I'd be considered greedy by MN standards 😂

@OutdoorType

As many as I want. But wouldn't have a clue how many calories, carbs etc they contain!
Well I count carbs for blood sugar control but I concede, you are better than me 🙄

None! I gave them up last summer. I have a bit of dark chocolate if I really need it.

PullingAtTeeth · 10/03/2022 14:26

Either none or about 25.
Once I start it’s very very hard to stop!

Don't drink tea. All the biscuits.

CrazyBatLady66 · 10/03/2022 14:27

usually, two lower sugar ones, because I am disabled and cannot exercise and put on weight really easily since bloody menopause. If I could exercise a bit more I would so that I could have more biscuits! I deliberately don't buy the really nice luxury ones as they would be more tempting.

waterlego · 10/03/2022 14:30

@Aworldofmyown

All of them!!! So I don't buy biscuits as I can't be trusted 😆
Exactly this. If I open a packet of biscuits, I am likely to eat all or most of them in one go, so I just don’t buy them.

Instead, I occasionally bake cakes and biscuits. I’m less likely to binge on them because a) they are bigger and more satisfying than shop-bought alternatives and b) I know how much time and effort I put into making them so don’t want them gone too quickly.

I made custard creams last week which were bloody delicious. One or two of those at a time was enough- they’re considerably bigger than the packaged ones!

Coffeencrochet · 10/03/2022 14:30

I tend to avoid having biscuits during the day. It's a different ball game at 8pm when both DC asleep and I'm having my last cup of the day, so easily half a packet in one sitting 😭 especially the choco leibniz ones, it's obviously their fault for only putting 9 or so in a pack!

Itsthemaybelline · 10/03/2022 14:31

All of them.

fruitpastille · 10/03/2022 14:31

Usually one but I have sugar in my tea. It can range from a rich tea up to a tunnocks caramel.

DepthOfTheAbyss · 10/03/2022 14:32

None. Why would eat biscuits when cake exists? Confused

DramaAlpaca · 10/03/2022 14:32

None. I don't usually eat biscuits, but I drink lots of tea.

My late MIL used to think it was very odd that I didn't eat biscuits with a cup of tea. I thought it was strange that she did.

Readyforspring · 10/03/2022 14:34

Stop when im full. Minimum half a pack.
Can easily eat a whole pack of thick luxury cookies.

I rarely eat biscuits but when i do, i do! I have a phase of like a pack a day for a week then nothing for months. Even though they're in the cupboard it doesn't bother me

Rayna37 · 10/03/2022 14:36

None. My Mum is strictly two, and was almost horrified when they came in packets of three at her workplace. She'll happily eat two on more than one occasion during the day though!

miltonj · 10/03/2022 14:37

If it's hobnobs I could accidentally eat the whole packet so I just take two and leave the packet elsewhere!

merryhouse · 10/03/2022 14:37

Biscuits are something I have as a thing in themselves (and yes, I would eat half a packet left to myself, so I rely on Family Guilt and eat H's home-made ones occasionally). Cup of tea I have after a meal or first thing in the morning.

I remember a conversation after church with people who were saying they couldn't have a cup of tea without anything to eat. That seemed really weird to me, but it appears quite common.

That’s interesting but seems strange to me too. If I’m at home, I drink tea all day long. I’d be the size of a house if was eating biscuits every time I had a cuppa!

CMOTDibbler · 10/03/2022 14:45

I don't. In fact the only biscuit consumers in this house are the chickens who like a daily biscuit between them

ifonly4 · 10/03/2022 14:46

I have 1 or 2 depending on how big they are. I'd be more than happy with 3 or 4 though, but limit myself.

Duchess379 · 10/03/2022 14:46

None. I have 3 dogs who would snuffle the lot! 😆🐾

raspberrymuffin · 10/03/2022 14:48

One (1) milk chocolate hobnob, which I carefully carry away from the kitchen and eat sitting down in another room so there's an effort barrier to having another. I would rather have one nice biscuit than four shit ones.

FantasticFebruary · 10/03/2022 14:50

I could happily eat a LOT of biscuits!! especially if I had a cup of tea to dunk! I love the boxes of broken biscuits - no calories in those!!

I don't have any though as I'm a T2 diabetic & I low carb to control my blood sugars without medication. I have NO margin to eat biscuits

Justcallmebebes · 10/03/2022 14:52

None. Don't like biscuits

LaurieFairyCake · 10/03/2022 14:52

I ALWAYS have a biscuit (or two with tea)

I only drink one or two cups a day though

usernotfound0000 · 10/03/2022 14:53

Chocolate type ones like a kit kat/penguin I would just have 1, custard cream/bourbon/hob nob type would be 2. But biscuits are definitely my weakness so don't really allow them in the house. I've been known to eat a full pack of bourbons in a day before (I was 9 months pregnant though Blush)

coloradoqueen · 10/03/2022 14:54

I'd eat half a packet so I don't buy them. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good dunk!
