Not ATAAT but inspired by one - if you could have any non politician as PM who would you choose and why?

I'd like a comedian like Dara O'Brian or Russel Howard - they are intelligent, funny and seem to have the measure of people.

How about you?

Jackie Weaver 😃

She's an absolute legend and would have all this mess sorted in no time 😎

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 05/03/2022 13:44

Richard Osman - likable and intelligent

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 05/03/2022 13:45

Ian Hislop.

OutdoorType · 05/03/2022 13:45

Martin Lewis - fair, honest and well infomed

hotblacktea · 05/03/2022 13:45

Mary Beard

@barrowinfurnessrailwaystation I love how Jackie Weaver just randomly appears on TV shows, it must be really surreal for her but she always seems to hold her own.

OutdoorType · 05/03/2022 13:47

I'd prefer any of the suggestions so far to any of our current politicians

Jackie Weaver is the boss for sure!

She wouldn't let no man intimidate her.

Sadly agreed.

I say sadly but all mentioned so far are intelligent people with the right kind of charisma.

Not sure how he would fair, but id be interested in Alan sugar, given the opportunity

Xiaoxiong · 05/03/2022 13:50

Kate Bingham, who did the vaccine rollout. She seems amazing.

Sittinginthesand · 05/03/2022 13:50

Oh, yes, Jackie weaver - heard her interviewed recently, so impressive. We need more like her.

I always thought Ken Clark would have been good, but too old now. We need someone with experience and gravitas, and probably the wisdom that comes with age and a lifetime spent studying politics and international affairs. Not a young single issue politician with no experience beyond Westminster who hasn’t read any history books!

Christmasbird · 05/03/2022 13:50

David Attenborough

Sittinginthesand · 05/03/2022 13:57

Is David Attenborough an expert on politics and international diplomacy? I’ve never heard him speak about it? He is undoubtedly wise though!

Mischance · 05/03/2022 13:59

Bob Mortimer or Kate Bingham who was behind the vaccine roll-out for no pay.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 05/03/2022 14:00

Jonathan Pie, I think he would make a brilliant PM.

suckingonchillidogs · 05/03/2022 14:01

Stephen Fry, I'm sure he could hold his own at PMQs

Blossomtoes · 05/03/2022 14:02

Definitely Ian Hislop. He’d be fantastic.

dollymuchymuchness · 05/03/2022 14:06

David Lammy

Hilda41 · 05/03/2022 14:22

I'd feel in safe hands with George Monbiot.

Narutocrazyfox · 05/03/2022 14:26

Julia Hartley Brewer. Without a doubt.

Juno22 · 05/03/2022 14:31

Clive Myrie

Cheesecakeandwineinasuitcase · 05/03/2022 14:38

Martin Lewis. Someone who is intelligent and actually cares. I would vote for him in a heartbeat.
