Who would you have for Prime Minister (lighthearted)

Not ATAAT but inspired by one - if you could have any non politician as PM who would you choose and why?

I'd like a comedian like Dara O'Brian or Russel Howard - they are intelligent, funny and seem to have the measure of people.

How about you?

JHB or Gove.

I assume whoever said David Lammy was taking the piss.

roarfeckingroarr · 05/03/2022 16:59

@dollymuchymuchness

David Lammy

I assume you're joking? 🦖🦖

Do you know anything about David Lammy?

Enough to know a vote for him is a vote against women - and intelligence, sanity
JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 05/03/2022 17:02

An inanimate carbon rod.

canary1 · 05/03/2022 17:03

Hugh Grant
Dawn French
Wouldn’t mind Ricky Gervais either

CowboyJo · 05/03/2022 17:05

@RovenderKitt

Deborah Meaden
I think Duncan Bannatyne was a better dragon myself Grin
Sittinginthesand · 05/03/2022 17:21

Marcus Rashford? Are you serious, he’s only 24! He’s done great stuff on school dinners but he wouldn’t have the knowledge and experience to be pm!

Kendodd · 05/03/2022 17:23

Marcus Rashford

Kendodd · 05/03/2022 17:29

Deborah Meaden
Yes, good pick.

I will never understand why Tory party members chose the absolutely incompetent lying clown we have in number 10 over Rory Stewart

AuxArmesCitoyens · 05/03/2022 17:45

We have had a 24 year old PM before

Sittinginthesand · 05/03/2022 18:07

In 1783!!

AuxArmesCitoyens · 05/03/2022 18:08

Anyway I am going for Clement Attlee

Sushiii · 05/03/2022 18:15

Agree with a few others - Ian Hislop 100%! He has morals, calls out others’ bullshit and is seriously intelligent.

Xerac · 05/03/2022 18:17

Neil Oliver

ChocolateHelps · 05/03/2022 18:19

Yes. Let's please start an #ianhislopforPM

Fernandina · 05/03/2022 18:27

Another vote for Ian Hislop.

Oh I do so hope that a member of the HIGNFY production team is a MNetter. Grin

eddiemairswife · 05/03/2022 18:38

If it has to be a Tory MP I think Jeremy Hunt. Otherwise Keir Starmer would suit me fine.
What have people got against David Lammy?

He’s bought into the women don’t exist schtick.
Ohmnomnom · 05/03/2022 18:50

Chris Whitty.

CremeEggThief · 05/03/2022 18:52

She is a politician already, so I might be breaking the rules.
The marvellous Caroline Lucas of the Green Party. I don't think I've ever disagreed with anything she's said, but more importantly she seems a decent, helpful, well-rounded person with good integrity and talks a lot of sense.

Takeawaytonight · 05/03/2022 18:59

Jonathan Van-Tam

dollymuchymuchness · 05/03/2022 19:04

David Lammy speaks very highly of his wife. What is this about 'women don't exist?'

RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/03/2022 19:04

Oh JVT is a bloody good call.

Chris Whitty - absolutely love him. But he was in the job as CMO because of his medical expertise and compassion. I think being PM would finish him off. It's too cut throat.

Ian Hislop is another good one and a popular vote it seems. It pleases me greatly that folk often tell me he reminds them of my Dad.

samsalmon · 05/03/2022 19:04

@Takeawaytonight

Jonathan Van-Tam
Oof, good call.
dollymuchymuchness · 05/03/2022 19:08

I love JVT but he's not at all political.

LightsoftheNorth · 05/03/2022 19:15

@dollymuchymuchness

David Lammy
That must be a joke? He's so stupid he thinks men can grow a cervix 🤣

I'd like a trio in charge: the late Mo Mowlam, Ken Clarke and Simon Reeve
