Who would you have for Prime Minister (lighthearted)

Not ATAAT but inspired by one - if you could have any non politician as PM who would you choose and why?

I'd like a comedian like Dara O'Brian or Russel Howard - they are intelligent, funny and seem to have the measure of people.

How about you?

Julia Hartley Brewer. Without a doubt.

Actually yes. Absolutely no nonsense.

midsomermurderess · 05/03/2022 15:01

Julia Hartley Brewer. Christ alive.

@Juno22

Clive Myrie
Totally- brave, calm under pressure, eloquent and knowledgable.

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

Jackie Weaver 😃

She's an absolute legend and would have all this mess sorted in no time 😎

Post of the day and best first response!

I'd be her Deputy PM

(Not in a dirty way, i know it sounds a bit Hmm )

MrsMigginsCat · 05/03/2022 15:07

Hugh Grant.

Gynaesaur · 05/03/2022 15:09

Another vote for Ian Hislop.
To be honest, at this point I'd vote in next door's dog over the current cabal.

0blio · 05/03/2022 15:09

@dollymuchymuchness

David Lammy
I assume you're joking? 🦖🦖

@midsomermurderess

Julia Hartley Brewer. Christ alive.
My thoughts exactly.
RainbowZebraWarrior · 05/03/2022 15:13

Martin Lewis is a great shout.

My first thought was Andy Burnham

But I also toyed with Hugh Grant
I appreciate this is wholly because of Love Actually and for that IABU

RovenderKitt · 05/03/2022 15:14

Deborah Meaden

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 05/03/2022 15:14

After the way she dealt with Caroline Noakes I'd vote for Kemi Badenoch!

SilkySuky · 05/03/2022 15:16

Marcus rashford. He has already influenced this government for the better.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 05/03/2022 15:16

Dame Judi Dench or Joanna Lumley

LadyCatStark · 05/03/2022 15:18

Andy Burnham but I do like the suggestion of Deborah Meadon.

Takeawaytonight · 05/03/2022 15:18

Julia H-B scares the shit out of me.

dollymuchymuchness · 05/03/2022 15:25

David Lammy

I assume you're joking? 🦖🦖

Do you know anything about David Lammy?

Blossomtoes · 05/03/2022 15:37

@Takeawaytonight

Julia H-B scares the shit out of me.
Me too. What an horrendous thought.
BlueSpottedGiraffe · 05/03/2022 15:40

Hugh grant

MixedClassBaby · 05/03/2022 15:44

Rory Stewart

@Narutocrazyfox

Julia Hartley Brewer. Without a doubt.
Trust me, no. I was at uni at the same time as her and she would be orgasmic at the idea that someone thought this. Biggest ego ever and a total self-publicist. See also JRM.
DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 05/03/2022 15:54

JKR

amicissimma · 05/03/2022 16:48

Penelope Keith

Staggersaurus · 05/03/2022 16:52

Chris Packham or Martin Lewis

David Attenborough in his younger years but I’d be so worried about him not lasting too long Sad

CowboyJo · 05/03/2022 16:56

Jeremy Clarkson, or Piers Morgan.
Absolute class chaps

Jamoffmytoast · 05/03/2022 16:57

Deborah Meaden

Agreed - she would be amazing
