It's like Wordle in that you need to guess the word of the day, but works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, ysterday's word was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I'm currently 840 words away with a similarity of 47%. I started at under 2%.

Anybody else attempting it?

I gave up at 200 guesses, with only having 2 in the very low thousand. And having played for three hours. And seeing what the word is, I would never have made the leaps.
I think that I am going back to Wordle, especially as I am back at work from tomorrow!

Got it in 133 yesterday (DP got it when he came in within 2 guesses) and 137 today on my own.

I also should never have opened this thread. I have no idea how you keep going with words. Today I got to 292 in 9 guesses and cannot get any closer. My brain hurts 🥴😊

I got it in my next (totally desperate) guess. It is quite bonkers!

It took me to 113 guesses to get into the top 1000 and I got it relatively quickly from there.

Woah I got 999 with my 4th guess!

I solved Semantle #29 in 49 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 16.71. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #30. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 58.69 (918/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I think a lot must depend on what word you start with 🤷‍♀️

I’m going a bit nuts. I have 999 and 998 but can’t quite get it

I got to 999 after 24 guesses. Now on 41 and still can't get it

@SmolCat the previous words (999, 998) look nor sound like the winning word, no. The clue is that they DON’T SOUND the same.

i was listening to the radio at the time yesterday and just typing in random words from the radio

I solved Semantle #29 in 119 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 6.01. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #72. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 73.12 (993/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I never did get closer than 995 yesterday and was a bit annoyed with myself when I finally saw the answer!

Today, I got to 999 on my 27th try and just can't seem to get it from there! I'm sure it will seem obvious again after the fact...

119 guesses this time. Can't see why the winning word is any more relevant to 999 than 998. Annoying game but strangely addictive!

I GOT IT! I actually thought I'd already tried the word or I might have got there much sooner...

Yes I was literally trying every word I could think of in that vague category of words

I keep thinking the next word should be a synonym of the previous word but that isn't the case. It's more like a word you would be likely to think of when you hear the previous word.
