Has to be nutella and banana for me.

Do you do savoury pancakes on Shove Tuesday?

Lemon and sugar

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/02/2022 21:22

Bacon and cheese sauce

WhenTheDragonsCame · 24/02/2022 21:32

Savoury = pesto, bacon and cheese
Sweet = peanut butter and chocolate spread

WhenTheDragonsCame · 24/02/2022 21:33

If I go to Kaspas I have banana, strawberries and chocolate sauce with whipped cream.

TomatoCultivator · 24/02/2022 21:40

If I make them for pudding I offer sugar and lemon or toffee sauce.
For a savoury filling spinach and ricotta with tomato sauce is popular with my family.

Flossingisforteeth · 24/02/2022 21:42

Sugar and lemon 🍋 😋

This is one of those subjects I'm very conservative about. Nothing beats lemon and caster sugar for me.

Nutella and banana.Tsk. Why not throw some edible glitter on there too, heathen.

Cherrysherbet · 24/02/2022 21:44

Golden syrup 😋

Surely Nutella and banana is a classic. I’m off to look for some glitter Wink

If it’s the thin crepe style pancakes (not the big fluffy American style ones) then nothing beats lemon and sugar

I’m not a fan of savoury pancakes or the American style ones.

JustGiveMeTwoMinutes · 24/02/2022 21:47

Lemon and sugar
Or for a really filling breakfast, banana, sliced peach, toasted nuts and creme fraiche

JellybabyGina87 · 24/02/2022 21:48

lemon and sugar

BobLep0nge · 24/02/2022 21:50

Mature cheddar cheese.

Silkierabbit · 24/02/2022 21:54

DH is French so we are having pancakes tonight as well as Tuesday. We had smoked salmon, spinach and cream for savoury one and will now have nutella, strawberry and banana for sweet one. Love pancakes which is good as DH makes them 3 times in a month around now. Also love melted chocolate with pear and vanilla ice cream.

Actually quite intrigued by the edible glitter 😂might give this a go.

I always have Nutella and occasionally banana or strawberry.

I can’t get my head around savoury pancakes

revampneeded · 24/02/2022 21:55

Cinnamon sugar and lemon juice. Savoury crêpes are wrong.

ODFOx · 24/02/2022 21:56

Historically on shrove Tuesday my brood would get a stack of a cakes with bolognese and grated cheddar warmed in the oven to melted solidity and then served in wedges, before a pudding of pancakes with lemon and sugar or maple syrup.
DH is not a fan of pancakes, so if he's home I fake it and use pancakes to roll up like cannelloni stuffed with a mixture of cheese, nutmeg and spinach with a tomato sauce.
These days the remaining offspring cook their own. One sticks to lemon and sugar and the other makes a little savoury stack.

TooBigForMyBoots · 24/02/2022 21:57

Butter, lemon and sugar.

Icantremembermyusername · 24/02/2022 21:58

Red onion, sweetcorn, mushroom and creme fraiche

ToastieCrumbs · 24/02/2022 22:00

Lemon and sugar was always my favourite, but recently discovered the joy of pancakes with salted caramel sauce 😋

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/02/2022 22:02

Tinned pears and chocolate sauce. Ice cream if we have some....

TuscanApothecary · 24/02/2022 22:14

Lemon and sugar for me.

But I also do like pancakes with yoghurt and fruit like you get in hotels for breakfast.

I've only had cheese and ham savoury pancakes, which I liked but I don't eat ham anymore so won't do savoury ones this year.

WaitingForSunshineAndDaisies · 24/02/2022 22:14

I was going to say - tinned pear and chocolate is the best!

Strokethefurrywall · 24/02/2022 22:20

I'm a simple lemon and sugar gal myself, but partial to a good Georgia Peach and white chocolate when offered.

SlapBet · 24/02/2022 22:25

Any other day of the year pancakes means thick American style pancakes/dropped scones but on pancake day it has to be actual pancakes with lemon and sugar and maybe a savoury one with cheese to make a 2 course dinner (because I’m fancy!).
