What is the one word to describe someone who befriends people to find out their weak spot and then attacks it?

As kids, we used to say 'come into the parlour said the spider to the fly'.

But we were just innocent kids, we didn't understand.

It makes me feel so much better to see so many negative words on this thread. I have a terrible relationship with my mother and sometimes it feels like everyone around me has a great relationship with their mother except me.

If there is one thing I’ve gained since joining MN is knowing I’m not alone when it comes to my relationship or lack of with my mother. I’ve also learnt that I don’t have to blame myself and that going NC was definitely the right decision and not to feel guilty about it anymore.

Self-absorbed.

Missed. We were great pals and laughed our heads off when we got together! ❤️

One word just won't do. She died in November and I miss her so.

Missed.

She was just the best, best mother, best friend, best advisor, best teacher, best role model just the best all round. She is missed daily, she was just the best and I loved her so much that it left such a whole in me when we lost her.

A PP said home and that is a great way to sum up my mum also, I felt a bit homeless when I lost her, lost a bit of belonging, security and love.

Some of these posts are so beautiful and real tributes to what clearly were wonderful, wonderful mothers. I'm so, so sorry for your losses.
