What a repulsive man John Barrowman is

John Barrowman, indecent exposer extraordinaire has been on tv this morning talking about how it’s not sexual harassment to lob your knob out in front of your colleagues and everyone had a great time and thought it was hilarious whilst he was doing it.

How tone deaf can one man be. Even given it was over ten years ago, has it really ever been ok to behave in that way, anywhere, let alone in a workplace.

I’d love to hear from the women who were present when this was happening. I believe he actually put his penis on the shoulder of one woman. The man should have been arrested but no, he’s on tv talking about how painful it’s been for him, for this to have been brought to the attention of the public.

I was sat on a train on my way home from holiday quite late at night a couple of years ago.. A group of men came and sat near me... They started chatting to me and I chatted back.. It became obvious they had been drinking... The next thing I knew the youngest lad who was about my sons age got his dick out and sat there opposite me with it hanging out.. I told him in no uncertain terms to put it away... I then started shaking... The train then pulled into the station and it became apparent we were all getting off at the same stop. Luckily the couple behind us had twigged what was happening and they walked me to my taxi.
I wish with all my heart I'd rung the police... I could imagine him doing it again and how frightened someone else would have been... 😔 😔 😔

You should have pushed the emergency button. I think it is near the door of the train.

It is the same issue as we saw in the Prince Andrew interview:

  • won't listen to, or accept, critical feedback.
  • cannot empathize with, or take the perspective of, others.
  • has difficulty "reading a room" and tailoring his message to his audience.
  • possesses an inflated opinion of his contributions and performance.
  • has no idea how his behaviours really appear to other people.
  • has no idea how hurtful he is to other people.
  • takes credit for successes and blames others for his failures. He is pretty awful really.

@MrsTerryPratchett

Flashing isn't about sex it's about power. So his sexuality is irrelevant.

I can't stand men mansplaining how women should feel about sex offending. I don't care how John feels. I care about how the women do (and men when they're victims).

Totally agree with this!
RachelGreeneGreep · 22/02/2022 22:24

I could never stand him, even before the stories about him, which I first heard at the time when stories broke about that other disgusting creep, Noel Clarke.

I'm so glad he is no longer on Dancing On Ice. It was said at the time of the last show, that he was harassing Denise VanOuten, repeatedly trying to get into her dressing room.

I can't understand why he has been given television work after all that has transpired. I hope his tour gets the attention he deserves. Ugh.

I think you've just described about 90% of the Board members I've had the misfortune to work with (not just men) in the private, public and voluntary sectors over the past thirty years. The reason they seem to get on is that these traits resonate with their peers.
Fizbosshoes · 22/02/2022 22:27

I read part of an interview with him, from last summer, explaining it away as tomfoolery. Apparently he, as the lead character was doing it to "entertain" everyone(other cast and crew members) and make them less awkward about nude scenes. Confused
FFS As if between a group if actors/singers there are no other ways to entertain each other...?

TheMarzipanDildo · 22/02/2022 22:32

JB claiming cancel culture is really making light of the people who are cancelled for wrong think.

If he was apologetic about this it might be different, but he’s being such an arse about it.

HelloBunny · 22/02/2022 22:33

If he was trying to entertain me with his willy, I’d laugh at it, not with it...

Thisisnotreallymyname · 22/02/2022 22:46

I have it on good authority, that staff at one theatre in Birmingham said he was the most obnoxious of all the “ stars “ that had ever appeared there.

I can believe that the creepy egomaniac.
Kimilybob · 22/02/2022 22:54

Weve all but lost sense of humour....context and intent mean nothing anymore....

I think the fact that all but 2 found it amusing says this was not done maliciously.

So as long as no malice there at the end of the day its a penis....i dont know when it became so offensive.

Tigertigertigertiger · 22/02/2022 22:57

Well I like him.

Cassop · 22/02/2022 22:58

The context is he's exposed himself repeatedly in his various workplaces for over a decade.

Hilarious! Hmm

JacquelineCarlyle · 22/02/2022 22:58

Fucking hell @Kimilybob

MummyJasmin · 22/02/2022 23:00

He's always come across as being creepy!

navigatingcrumbs · 22/02/2022 23:01

@KylieCharlene

First time I ever saw him on TV he gave me the shivers. Very sinister vibe. I couldn't understand how other people thought he was fabulous.
Me too. I found him smug, up his own arse and Pervy.
Perime · 22/02/2022 23:11

Miriam Margoyles talks about exposing herself often in her autobiography. I thought it was a 'luvvie' thing.

Not acceptable at all

I find her creepy and cringe when I watch her. I don't get why everyone loves her so much, she's so rude bordering on offensive.
Kimilybob · 22/02/2022 23:14

Well i imagine hes great for all those who like getting offended on behalf of others but if hes been doing it for years and hes still a very popular guy in his circles i think that speaks volumes.

Noel Clarke went on TV some years ago criticising John B for flashing people. Talk about pot calling the kettle black!

I think she is disgraceful, scruffy and embarrassing.
OneSwallow · 22/02/2022 23:20

MM is an embarrassment.

GreenTeaPingPong · 22/02/2022 23:21

As far as I know he hasn't been charged or prosecuted for sexual assault or similar. Yes it's distasteful behaviour, and he should apologise, but everyone talking about 'in the workplace' in this mealy mouthed way as if he was flashing in an insurance office are a bit misguided. Actors pull all kinds of pranks on each other - haven't you heard the stories on Graham Norton? It wasn't targeting any one person.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 22/02/2022 23:23

I see too that he has ditched the silver fox look and dyed his hair dark brown again.
