What a repulsive man John Barrowman is

John Barrowman, indecent exposer extraordinaire has been on tv this morning talking about how it’s not sexual harassment to lob your knob out in front of your colleagues and everyone had a great time and thought it was hilarious whilst he was doing it.

How tone deaf can one man be. Even given it was over ten years ago, has it really ever been ok to behave in that way, anywhere, let alone in a workplace.

I’d love to hear from the women who were present when this was happening. I believe he actually put his penis on the shoulder of one woman. The man should have been arrested but no, he’s on tv talking about how painful it’s been for him, for this to have been brought to the attention of the public.

Because he's pathetic. Not that I've ever seen him in anything, he might be brilliant at whatever it is he does (acting? singing? dancing? I don't know) but he's pathetic none the less.

I can't imagine any senior officer I've worked for, I'm thinking of anyone from a sergeant to a chief superintendent, would have been anything other than supportive of a woman being harassed

@ancientgran then your experience of working closely with the police is different to mine. Maybe I was unlucky or maybe you were extraordinary lucky but I certainly experienced it and saw it done to female officers who were charmingly called "plonks", "Dorises" or worse.

The police often refer to themselves as Family. Families can be dysfunctional, can't they? Sometimes people in those families don't recognise that and think other family members always have their best interests at heart.

in your years of working for the police were many of those chivalrous senior officers women? Even in low ranks like sergeant?

The woman he did it to is a long term friend of John's who has spoken about about him publicly and positively for many, many years.
It annoys me the assumption women don't know their own mind and we must defend her.

Arrested indeed.

Hi John.

How's it hanging? 😠

Hi John.

How's it hanging? 😠

The fact you think he would give two shits about what Mn think made me chuckle.

I regret not hitting him when I saw him deliberately causing a young girl to cry at a theatre in Birmingham. She had won a competition to interview him for her school newspaper, but his reaction when approached was vile. His invective continued until he was sure she was distraught and inconsolable, then he flounced off. The words he used are words that should never be used towards a child. In fact, civilians like us would be arrested for doing what he did, but he thinks he is untouchable (and by and large, he is right). I’m not in the habit of going around hitting people but he deserved it. Note that this was only minutes after being described on stage as the nicest guy in musical theatre by one of his fellow z-list celebrities.
I admit to huge feelings of relief when he was exposed (no pun intended) for being the hideous creep that he is.

I can't recommend hitting him but am pleased to note I skimmed a headline of him snivelling he's had an awful year and everyone's been horrible to him. Excellent. I hope to see similar from Jeremy Clarkson next year.

Exhausteddog · 21/12/2022 19:45

I saw he is cancelling his tour.
He doesn't seem to have any self awareness at all. He feels aggrieved at what happened to him rather than reflecting that behaviour he described as "silly" or "tom foolery", is actually inappropriate and something he should apologise or show some remorse or regret for.

I saw Barrowman in concert in 2019 ( before I knew about all the controversy). I will admit it was a really good evening, and he has a superb singing voice. I don’t think I’ll ever hear a better version of ABBA’s ‘Winner Takes it All’(ironic in retrospect).

I’ve since asked myself would I go and see him again, and the answer is no. Not so much because of the alleged going-on on the set of the Dr Who set, but his subsequent reaction to them. People do get carried away when drunk or at parties etc, but he hasn’t apologised or accept that his actions could have offended people.

gamerchick · 21/12/2022 21:44

I admit that I love him in Torchwood and Dr who but he's one dude I would never want to meet IRL. Same as Craig Charles.

Some people are best left unmet.
