Why is Steve Cram there at all?

Do they take it in turns to go first? Because it seems like more of an advantage to go last?!

Yes the team that has the hammer (goes last) has advantage.

The stones nearest to the white circle that has the Olympic Rings score. One point for each stone.

As for why Steve Cram is there, well that is a question I can’t answer. If he just asked sensible questions and bloody listened to the answers given by the experts it wouldn’t be so bad but he totally ruins it with his constant chatter.

We’ve got fairly good commentary on Japanese TV, thank goodness

Only one team (colour) can score in each end. If say one yellow stone is dead centre and there are red stones all around the yellow team will score one. If there are other yellow stones near the centre before any red stone the other yellow stones will count too.

The team that doesn’t score in an end gets the last throw on the next end. You will sometimes see a skip (last player) blank the end to retain the hammer for the next end as potentially having the hammer is more of an advantage than just picking up one point. This tactic is used more towards the end of a match.

I love the way Rhona just basically tells Steve to shut the f up and stop talking crap.
