Threads you remember with fondness for being utterly batshit

The one that always gets me is the one where a woman gets angry with some builders and yelled 'Willy Willy Willy' at them
Also didn't see this delight at the time but have since learnt about it was the Sistine screamer- I could die laughing thinking about that one
What are your best threads for comedy value?

OP posts:

@DropYourSword

Surely the correct answer is 3 pizzas *@MalloryMal*!
I’m not sure it was ever resolved! It ended up with posters arguing about obesity and orthorexia with some mumblings about salt consumption… I think there was even a post telling OP she was ignorant posting about it as not everyone could afford such things and she should buy pizza and wedges from Aldi. It was brilliant!

There have been similar posts since, so hopefully once children are having sleepovers and parties again there will be some more.

Sexybexi · 19/02/2022 01:50

Not strictly on topic but why do threads end at 40 pages?

TonyThreePies · 19/02/2022 01:50

How the hell is the Yoni thread 9 years old?!
One of my favourite threads was the parking one where the OPs rugby son and team bounced the car out of her way. It was superb.
Batshit prize though does have to go to the Sistine Chapel.

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 19/02/2022 01:50

FIL reluctant to serve either myself or DH his finest champagne.

Crying at the Sistine chapel

Brian the yoni massager from Hull

Elderly Korean lady

Fat balls

Snapped and farted

Penis beaker

Leilala · 19/02/2022 02:10

Thanks for the entertainment!

DH is away, DS has noro and every time he vomits he wakes the baby 6 months (who has an ear infection). This is really helping me see the funny side.

I snapped and farted… I have IBS (great)

Hamwitch … loved how she said Vege (I can’t stop reading it as V-eeee-g)

GiantHaystacks2021 · 19/02/2022 02:17

The poor heavily pregnant woman who was at the swimming pool with her family.
Forgot to put on her bikini bottoms before she got in the pool. Blush

ISpyCobraKai · 19/02/2022 02:25

Supersoaker.
And still nooooooo!

ISpyCobraKai · 19/02/2022 02:29

@MalloryMal

There was a thread where someone wanted advice on how many dominos pizzas to order for (I think) 5 10 year olds for a sleepover. Answers ranged from OP was basically committing child abuse and if they knew her they’d ring social services, through to one medium pizza to share between them and dotted in between those ridiculous posts and the normal posts we had people saying things like order 10 large pizzas with different toppings plus 5 garlic breads, 5 wedges, 5 boxes of chicken, 5 2l bottles of coke and don’t forget desserts.

You really can’t beat an MN food thread where you have people looking at a dominos leaflet and feeling full to people who eat 2 large dominos pizzas plus sides and then need to go to the little Tesco down the road for a cheesecake.

I love bonkers food threads. There was one about going to a carvery and observing someone being "horribly greedy", because he took three Yorkshire puddings. Grin
Steala · 19/02/2022 02:36

Not bat shit crazy, but I remember a trend 15 years or so ago where links were included in threads just to surprise unsuspecting readers with a picture of a bat!

pawpaws2022 · 19/02/2022 02:41

The spray painted pigeon. Actual tears of laughter

pawpaws2022 · 19/02/2022 02:42

To throw water over a pigeon I've just spray painted? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/1465377-To-throw-water-over-a-pigeon-Ive-just-spray-painted

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 19/02/2022 02:58

One of my favourites was about a woman who was sick of looking after her DC's hamster as the kids had lost interest in it and was wondering if she should rehome it. She made it clear that she was feeding it and cleaning it out and it was properly looked after but she would rather give the hamster away.

There was then a massive pile on by people basically saying that the poor poor hamster would know she didn't love it and she was a monster. Utterly batshit.

Nadjahomesoil · 19/02/2022 03:08

@musicmadnessnumber57806

The rhythmless man thread

https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/3349315-AIBU

That thread is amazing.

sashh · 19/02/2022 03:08

@HangingOver

Screaming at the Sistine chapel wins for me every time. And the one where the people kept having sex in OPs hedge
OMG I remember that one, someone suggested it was foxes and the OP said something like, "foxes don't ask for a finger up the arse".
MsJuniper · 19/02/2022 03:10

hamwidge is one I still think of when making packed lunches:

bread

ham

bread

mathanxiety · 19/02/2022 03:10

One word - Sorcha.

MollyBloomYes · 19/02/2022 03:18

The hair bobble plate! Poster lost a plate her DCs had made for her (for keeping her hair bobbles on) down the back of their enclosed cistern.

Oh god it was brilliant. Suggestions of all sorts of ways of getting it out, authoritative but kind DH telling her to leave it (because by that point she was in serious danger of wrecking the whole bathroom) and he would rescue it for her later, so many near misses. So satisfying to follow along live

crabb · 19/02/2022 03:51

Having now read TRex in ASDA and rhythmless man together, it seems likely they’re by the same poster. Are there any more? Rhythmless man was amazing, hadn’t seen it before.

Featuredcreature · 19/02/2022 04:01

There was a thread about ways people had pets die accidentally, sounds really dark but I was in hysterics, sadly lost in the mists of time.

There was a post in maybe a most embarrassing moments thread where a woman was sat in a food court and was absentmindedly stroking the furry coat of the person at the adjacent table. When she looked it was actually lly the woman's hair Grin That really tickled me.

SameToo · 19/02/2022 04:01

What’s the elderly Korean lady one? Deffo missed that.

Spray painting the pigeon was hilarious.

Cutted up pear is still my favourite.

It annoys me now how quickly there’s the cry for threads to go into classics when they’re really not classics.

Amortentia · 19/02/2022 04:06

The entire CF thread in mumsnet classics. The Mexican house thief story is crazy enough but the entire thread is fully of mad stories. If you’ve got some spare time and need a laugh the whole thread is worth your time.

Kgutdfn · 19/02/2022 04:08

The Mumsnet chicken threads!!!

CheekyHobson · 19/02/2022 04:18

Oh god, I'm vaguely remembering one that had to do with cucumbers and a work fridge Nazi and an increasingly office-wide operation to drive her batty. Anyone else remember this? And have a link?

PinchOfVom · 19/02/2022 04:33

@AFingerofFudge

Does anyone remember the person posting about a couple sitting in their car outside her house for days/weeks ?!
That was the first ever thread I read!

It was set in Norfolk - I had never heard jog NFN before.
