Things you never ever want to do again

Just for balance, because the thread below is making me feel a bit down…

What are you overjoyed to finally see the back of?

For me: The toddler years. Potty training. The school run and its politics. Ridiculous primary school homework for the parents.

Going further back: boring Sundays with church and bad music. Nothing to do on Sundays because nothing was open. Being bullied at school. Having to ask permission for seemingly absolutely everything.

The past wasn’t all rose tinted.

@BrutusMcDogface I came on to say Go Ape! Genuinely the most terrifying thing I've done!

A canal boat holiday
School pick ups

Have a baby, because of post natal depression and anxiety. It has always been a part of my life but it is an especially spicy duo after having children.

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 18/02/2022 23:26

@MrsSugar

Mines a bit grim…

I never ever want to be ushered into a relatives room at a&e to sit and await devastating news

That and hearing those 5 dreaded words of I'm sorry there's no heartbeat. Are by far the 2 most shittiest things I've gone through
Sunnytwobridges · 18/02/2022 23:34

Pregnancy, giving birth, baby years, toddler years, and pre teenage years LOL Didn't mind teenage years, they were fun

Going to college , actually I loved my college days but hated studying

Dealing with DD's father, couldn't stand him. Glad she's a young adult now.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 18/02/2022 23:38

One night stands.

Having to raise any children between the ages of 2-4. They're actual goblins.

MrsTophamHat · 18/02/2022 23:45

I am relieved how many people say the todder years. I've got two under 5 and when i see people on here saying it's the best bit it makes me want to cry! I really don't think I will miss this bit.

BeepBoopBop · 18/02/2022 23:49

Standing on the pavement clapping while ex-DP runs past in his ridiculous lycra. Or cycles, or swims. Twat.

Abseil
Give birth
Desperately try not to cough while sitting next to a smoker because it would be rude

Onlythelaundryfairy · 19/02/2022 00:00

@PuppyMonkey beat me to it!
So grateful I don't have to give birth again.

Fruitlesscalisthenics · 19/02/2022 00:03

Gosh I can't believe someone has put foreign films on here! That's quite a big category to eliminate all at once!

For me it's the inflexibility of being tied to the school run twice a day, every week day in term time, for what felt like years and years and years ... .

NewYearNewMinty · 19/02/2022 00:07

Eternally grateful to know I will never have to go camping with my XH again.

For years I thought I wasn't an 'outdoors person' and hated camping.

5.5 years post separation I e realised I just didn't like being outdoorsy and camping with him!

Go to Barcelona

I had to bloody live there. So glad that’s over.

Topseyt · 19/02/2022 01:32

Well, just about all of the things you mentioned.

Plus exams, camping, nightclubbing (always hated them), school PE lessons (humiliation and torture), giving birth.

I'm sure plenty more will occur to me.

PandoraRocks · 19/02/2022 01:35

Topseyt · 19/02/2022 01:40

Oh, and as many are saying, I will never wear high heels ever again. I haven't for years either and I certainly don't miss the

I don't know how I ever managed to walk in high heels when I was younger (and foolish). I'm more practical and sensible now.
