Well done, bobby. Put your feet up at least and break out the biscuits. Are you getting any good sleep overnight?

It was very foggy here this morning but the sun has come out now and it's supposed to get up to 23C here this afternoon.

We're visiting my MIL for dinner on Saturday and then on Sunday DS drives back to uni. The week has flown by.

Bobby Enjoy!

Bright, sunny and a tiny bit spring like here.
DD has been to get her official PCR text and is now back at her paper.

Champagneforeveryone · 18/03/2022 15:49

Congratulations bobby, tales like yours make me devoutly thankful we only had the one Grin

Hope you remain germ free prok and that the family do not suffer too much Flowers

I still have a cough to rival a coal miners, DH is concerned as "it could be pneumonia". However, aside from coughing and being quite tired (I work long hours and have just had Covid so not really a surprise) I am in rudely good health so suspect I am not in imminent danger.

Spudlet · 18/03/2022 16:11

Well done @bobbythevet! That is worthy of celebration 🎉

A day of buzzing about here - had a run to school with DS then did a longer loop on the way home to make it up to 4 miles. Got showered, then went for a blood test as the dr thinks I may have Reynauds and wants to rule anything else out. Back in, washed my massage stones which I had left in the car last night as I didn’t crawl in until 9.30 thanks to a road closure 😣 Straight back out again with Spudpup for his last training class, in, lunch, then cycled down to school and home with DS, which was very annoying as he has discovered how to change gear but does not understand which gear to use when yet…. Having a quick cuppa now then about to set off for my 5pm client.

Grin I am tired

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/03/2022 17:14

Sudlet I never understood what gear to use either. I gave up on biking quite early.

Champagne Both my C-cases are WFH as usual, DH just feels tired and DD has a runny nose. We'll see Smile

23°C Miss I am happy if we manage 10°C. There can still be frost in April.

MissConductUS · 18/03/2022 18:20

Prok, sorry to hear about your DD's positive test. The temp today is an aberration. It will get cold again next week.

Champagne, let your husband know that pneumonia is not a specific disease. The term simply describes inflammation of the lungs. You can have viral pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia, etc. It's a common misunderstanding.

Spudlet, do you know what specifically he's testing for? There aren't many things that look like Reynauds. If that's what you've got and it's bothersome it usually responds well to a low dose calcium channel blocker. I take one myself for hypertension.

I'm closing the clinic now. Grin

Foggy start here but turned into a beautiful spring day. 3/4 DC have gone away on a 2-night retreat/residential through Church. It’s eerily quiet with just DC4 knocking about. I give it until 10am tomorrow morning before she starts moaning about missing them!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/03/2022 18:47

Just to share my excitement - found a YT video showing me how to change the bulbs in our late 1990 recessed kitchen downlights. 2 bulbs need replacing after 25 years and now I can hopefully do it.

Spudlet · 18/03/2022 19:03

@MissConductUS Kidney function, thyroid and anaemia were some of the things she mentioned - I think it’s just a belt and braces check tbh. I’m pretty sure it’s Reynauds, I have all the symptoms and have done for years - I remember getting into trouble as a child for crying when it snowed because my hands hurt so much. It’s just got worse as I’m getting older.

bobbythevet · 18/03/2022 20:22

@MissConductUS the 3mo actually sleep better than the 3yo over night! My 3mo is sleeping soundly and will probably stay like that until 4 or 5am, and my 3yo is currently singing 'wind the bobbin up' under the covers in bed because she doesn't seem to know we can hear her on the monitor as well as see her Hmm

bobbythevet · 18/03/2022 20:24

@HelenaJustina enjoy! Sounds like a lovely opportunity for some 1:1 and down time

MissConductUS · 18/03/2022 20:29

Spudlet, you should be getting a CBC test annually that would show anemia. It's likely Reynauds. Thyroid and kidney issues would typically have other symptoms, but it's good to be sure.

bobby, mine are 22 months apart. I went through that phase too.

Lemonsandlemonade · 18/03/2022 20:36

@bobbythevet well done re getting them both off for a nap. Well worth a pay on the back. Also at least your 3 year old can sing it look on the bright side. 😬😂🤦‍♀️

We had a visit from a local farm today the children loved it. We had a wow moment which nearly made me cry.

Had a pre made bolognaise for tea which was ok but it mushrooms in which yuck if you ask me.

HelenaJustina · 18/03/2022 20:37

@bobbythevet I went through that phase too. I have 4, gaps are 23 months, 20 months and 24 months. They grow up so nicely together though, it’s worth it in the end!

LoveFall · 18/03/2022 22:06

I have been trying to paint and draw today, listening to the children yelling and playing at the day care near us. I don't mind the noise until they summary shrieking and screaming!

Here is my painting today. Some wildflowers and a hummingbird. The blue flowers are chicory. They are a common roadside w

LoveFall · 18/03/2022 22:09

Ack fat fingers. Chicory blooms in summer.

At least this doesn't look like mutant daffodils like my last one.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/03/2022 09:08

Good morning all,
the kitchen is clean, DS is willing to go and buy potatoes (DH and DD are not allowed out, and I did the bulk yesterday).
We recieved the exam schedule (from announcement of 4th semester grades and acceptance on 5.4 via revision time April / May to results and - hopefully - celebration 2.7).

HelenaJustina · 19/03/2022 09:21

Fingers crossed prok! Happy sunny Saturday everyone. It’s v quiet chez Helena this morning. Planning to race through chores this morning while DH is at work and then spoil our remaining child this afternoon.

ShoesOnFirstThenCar · 19/03/2022 11:29

Morning all! Have been to drop DD at one of her clubs, got to the door and was told she wasn’t down for today but next week instead. Luckily I convinced them to take her in as she needed the toilet, the coordinator said she could stay today and she would double check the dates. I have since found the email which says she’s down for both. Yay!
I then went to M&S food hall for a few bits and am now home scoffing one of their chocolate eclairs. Then I have to clean our kitchen which is an absolute tip.
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday

Lemonsandlemonade · 19/03/2022 18:19

Hope you managed to get your Potatoes prok.

I have to be honest there is a lack of food on the shelves with us in the supermarket.

Went to seaside today with DS and DM. 2 years since DF passed away. DH was working.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/03/2022 18:40

Yes, Lemon DS got out of bed and went to the shop we buy our potatoes from Grin. I had no intention to carry 10 kg of potatoes up the stairs.

DH and DD are still only mildly inconvenienced by the plague and both working like mad. DD is doing something to do with 'theory of rituals and rites'

MissConductUS · 19/03/2022 20:11

Happy Caturday one and all! Smile

It's been busy here today. I went to the warehouse club to get DS the huge packages of granola bars, crisps and salty cheese crackers he likes. These will go back to uni with him tomorrow.

The landscapers came today and blew the leaves and other debris off the lawn and out of the garden. They also got up on the roof and blew out the gutters. The cats were terrified. They hate the noise and hearing a bloke stomping about on the roof greatly disturbs them.

DS and I have made M&M cookies for him to take back. We are off shortly to take my lovely MIL out to dinner to her favorite seafood restaurant.

Lemons, I lost my father a few years ago. Days like that are hard. Flowers

IWanderedLonely · 19/03/2022 20:20

Lemons Flowers. Always sad but with time happy memories slip in too.
We I am debating decorating the front room. We have 2 large burgundy leather settees which, although ancient, are still serviceable so colours will have to fit with them. I've been looking on Pinterest and saw a mustard wall with one, but not sure I'm brave enough.

SevenSistersStar · 19/03/2022 20:35

Love the pictures of the mist @MissConductUS.

Went for a lovely bike ride today, 10 miles mostly off road. Lots of hills so I'll ache tomorrow.

Got someone booked in to look at the boiler on Monday.

Silkierabbit · 19/03/2022 20:49

DH got his hearing aids fitted today so now have a hearing DH back and he seems happy with them though is lying down and taken them out. He also went to pick up all the stuff I had ordered for chemo and got it all apart from could not find ice. He got my prescription for the very high fluoride toothpaste though he was muttering so much as it cost £58 as have to get it privately and dentist had put 6 tubes of it. Very kind of dentist to do prescription for free but was expecting 1 tube not 6. DD said I will steal some then she thought and said no its prescription that may not be a good idea. Wink

I did manage to get counsellor changed but nothing set up yet. Its been quite difficult to arrange but should get 6 sessions now which Macmillan the cancer charity fund.

Spent a lot of Friday trying to sort DSs EHCP and have finally been given the draft, 4 weeks late. They will approach two places for a change of schools for DS as current school say can't meet needs. Pretty much every school is full in his year but I don't want him with no school but LA may need to force a school to take and not sure if they will. Its chaos as its an exam year and different schools do different exams so he needs to change asap. They also want him to go to the free mainstream school after and not the maths school but that is later battle.

DD has finished a week of mocks and Maths Olympiad paper and just been to gym. Had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast for brunch and will have pasta for dinner. Last night had an Indian which was nice, DH always insists on sharing a meal with me so he does not pay for two but I got him to agree to a new dish and we both liked it, it was a curry with mango and coconut and pilau rice. DH is normally reluctant to try anything new though it did taste very like korma with mango added so was a very safe new. DS ate all his korma and seemed very happy.

DH accidently shut Silkiecat in the garden and DD realised in the living room when Silkiecat was at the French doors trying to get in the living room. DD did not open them as the silkie chicken and rabbit are in there and the three together would not end well. Rabbit would try to jump on cat who was get very anxious which would then set the chicken off flapping so would have a very calm rabbit and 2 stressed girls.
