Today I will be going at the dog with a furminator. She's looking remarkably bouffant at the moment...

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 06/02/2022 13:06

I did both MissC. The store didn’t have the colors I wanted so I ordered online too. I’m going to end up returning half of what I bought as I couldn’t make up my mind.

Silkierabbit · 06/02/2022 13:07

I only just woke up, very sleepy past couple of days, no idea why. Dh also just woke up so will not make it to Chinese New Year though its windy and cold and not even sure would not be cancelled.

Weather forecast is dire for half term trip but very restricted when can go now. Was looking at adding a place but will wait.

Sue How were your DHs results from hospital, hope things are progressing ok.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 06/02/2022 13:12

We also went for a walk around the city. I have a yearning to do so every so often. My yearning has been cured. There are so many snow banks it’s hard to cross the roads. The brick pavements are so icy I struggled to stay upright. It was cold and windy, and in the shops it was hot and sweaty. Roll on spring.

Love these threads so much.

I have submitted my coursework for college this afternoon. Just had 2 questions left to do and it took me less time than I thought it was going to.

I'm going to treat myself to an eye shadow palette next week as my reward.

I made a very tasty fruit salad this morning from bananas and kiwis and apple rather than just looking at the fruit until it went squishy and brown.

The pain in my neck and shoulders that was waking me up last night has gone.

Treated myself to a couple of smart work jackets in the La Redoute sale, which I am very please with.

Cat is licking her paws and getting ready for a snooze at end of DS's bed - near the warm radiator. She was a very frightened adoptee 4 years ago and now she is the most gentle, happy and affectionate cat anyone could wish for.

DoctorTwo · 06/02/2022 13:56

I have been looking after another property for the past few days and didn't have my laptop with me, so was unable to check in. I know I could use my phone but typing a message takes me ages because I'm old.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2022 13:59

Kiss Did I miss the foto of said contented cat?
We still are a catless household and will remain so until DD has a place of her own.

Oh, and the vote from Thailand is in - no sprouts in his mother's kitchen.

sueelleker · 06/02/2022 14:05

@Silkierabbit
Bad news I'm afraid. On Jan 26th I had to call an ambulance, as he'd had a stroke (talking gibberish) They did another CT scan, and confirmed it, also what we'd suspected, that the cancer had metastatized. He spent 5 days in hospital on a morphine syringe driver, not conscious at all, and slipped away last Sunday. Thanks for asking. I hope your prognosis is better.

DuckPancake · 06/02/2022 14:17

Making slow progress with tidying up the house today. DS seems to take me 2 steps back as I make 1 step forward...

I washed my hair this morning so that's one less thing to worry about on Monday morning.

I don't like the colour that I'd started to paint my bedroom... back to Pinterest for inspiration.

Lemonsandlemonade · 06/02/2022 14:21

@sueelleker I’m so sorry for your loss. If you need anything there is quite a community on this thread.

Silkierabbit · 06/02/2022 14:21

I am so very sorry Sue. That must be so hard for you and so sad for you both. I hope he is at peace now, at least the pain is over and I hope he is in heaven now and he should find my great aunt there who will make him lots of tea and lemon drizzle cake. I hope you have people around to support you. I have results on 8th though I already know tumour size and in 1 node, its just how many more. I prefer not knowing atm. Thinking of you. Flowers

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2022 14:24

@sueelleker I am so very sorry for you and yours.

halfpasteleven · 06/02/2022 14:31

@sueelleker I'm so very sorry for your loss. Stay in touch. Thanks

Nightowlpossibly · 06/02/2022 14:32

I read the other threads and have also decided to join this one.

This year I decided my new hobby was going to be comping, so I have spent the morning entering lots of competitions, and drawing pretty patterns on my postcard entries to make them stand out.

Now drinking tea and eating home made sultana cake whilst contemplating, how much housework I can leave until tomorrow.

DuckPancake · 06/02/2022 15:15

@sueelleker - very sad news Sad lots of love and hugs Thanks

sueelleker · 06/02/2022 15:21

Thank you all. My main consolation at the moment is that at least he doesn't have to go through chemo and/or radiotherapy.

Champagneforeveryone · 06/02/2022 16:13

MissConductUS · 06/02/2022 16:36

@sueelleker, I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers

It sounds like he went peacefully, and you're right, the treatment can be awful. Hugs.

Welcome, @KisstheTeapot14, and thanks for sharing your college, fruit salad, shopping, and feline news. What are you studying?

Welcome, @Nightowlpossibly, and thanks for sharing your news. Could you elaborate on your new hobby? I'm familiar with comping in the context of jazz music, but it sounds like you're doing something entirely different.

I did drag my lazy arse go to church. I think the rector was grateful, as turnout was low. DS got mentioned in the birthday announcements.

I'm so sorry. How are you?
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2022 17:33

Raining again, so no diagramme of my terrasse. I only went out to feed the Morose family.

Sunbird24 · 06/02/2022 18:13

I used to be a regular on these threads but have been MIA for a while, sorry!

Today I managed to miss a gel pen in one of my pockets when I was doing laundry and now one pair of my work trousers have an interesting pattern of black splodges all above the right knee. Luckily nothing else seems to have been affected, I have a spare pair, and should be able to replace them this week 🤦‍♀️

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2022 18:27

sunbird tell them it is art and supposed to be like that Grin, or is it part of a uniform?

After eating like a proper adult of the older variety for two months I can again fit into my black trousers, but I need those black shoes before I can wear them again.

Sunbird24 · 06/02/2022 18:30

It’s uniform unfortunately Prok, and not a dark enough material to hide it!

HelenaJustina · 06/02/2022 18:54

@sueelleker so sorry for your loss, your DH’s end sounds more peaceful than the last few months have been, which must be a comfort. How are you doing? Have you got family at home?

@MissConductUS thanks for the new thread.

I’ve been MIA for a little while as DH now has COVID as well. That’s 4/6 household members. Though DC3 tested negative on their Day 5 test today which bodes well for early release tomorrow…

@TheDuchessOfAvon fabulous user name, which Duchess are you? Leonie or Mary?!
