@ilovesooty

Even some of his own MPs seem rather unhappy with him.
I’m sure any number of them are bloody furious. I imagine most MPs of all parties are decent people who actually wanted to go into public service. Imagine feeling that way and having him as your leader and his front bench as your alternatives

I thought Hoyle invoked powers to chuck Blackford out;
May said (more or less) "Either you're stupid or dishonest -- which is it?" Snurk.

Yellow85 · 31/01/2022 16:07

Loving Ian Blackford today 🤣

TonytheDog · 31/01/2022 16:08

AlwaysLatte it must be. Surely?

AlwaysLatte · 31/01/2022 16:08

Loving Ian Blackford today 🤣

He was about to, but I think Blackford left before he could.

It's not even straight, is it! 😂

ancientgran · 31/01/2022 16:09

Yes wish I could vote for Blackford. Someone with a backbone.

Yellow85 · 31/01/2022 16:10

Honestly I don’t remember politics ever being this entertaining. I means the whole country leadership and opposition have gone to s**t but it fair makes great watching 🤣

skodadoda · 31/01/2022 16:10

Loving Ian Blackford today 🤣
Me too 😂

@AlwaysLatte
ah Fabricants hair. He claims it is not a wig.
My dh thought it was someone doing a spoof of Boris when he saw it the other day.
No wonder we are a laughing stick !

FeltCarrot · 31/01/2022 16:11

@AlwaysLatte

Michael Fabricant, apparently he has had his hair “enhanced”.

don't comment on it, he gets very upset

My parents feel the same, after many decades of voting Conservative. Who would you want to replace? My view is it should be noone that's been in sniffing distance of this cabinet.

thumbtom · 31/01/2022 16:12

Excellent work by Ian Blackford.

skodadoda · 31/01/2022 16:12

Johnson has said very little about the report and is simply deflecting perfectly legitimate questions. I suppose he’s still hoping people will accept the nonsense of ‘move on’.

That was in response to a Conservative voters despair but the quote function failed.
HangoverSquare · 31/01/2022 16:12

He’s such a failure of a man, in all aspects of his life. And a snarling dog when cornered, all that bumbling hail-fellow-well-met shtick falls away. Desperate to hang on so as not to be chiefly known for having had a shorter tenure as PM than Theresa May. He has to hang on for another 11 days to match Spencer Perceval’s term (Perceval most famous for being the only British PM to have been assassinated).

Norgie · 31/01/2022 16:13

So in a nutshell. Boris gets asked a few questions, he says sorry and promises a shake up and life goes on as usual.
That's it.

ChicCroissant · 31/01/2022 16:13

I think Blackford walked out rather than retract or be thrown out. Good on him! It's the first time the SNP have gone up in my estimation.

No way will he release the rest of the report if it implicates him. They knew he was a liar when they put him in charge, it's the Conservatives fault and they've brought it on themselves.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 31/01/2022 16:13

It's literally just to tell everyone to wait for the enquiry while he desperately tries to cover his arse.

Although in the plus side today I cheered for Theresa May for the first time ever.

ilovesooty · 31/01/2022 16:14

Well said Julian Lewis.

toomuchlaundry · 31/01/2022 16:14

Interesting how most of the opposition are wearing masks and the Tories aren't

Bretzen · 31/01/2022 16:15

Oh my God he needs to just go. What have we become?!? Hostage to an utter arsehole and we are powerless to do anything about it. He just needs to go!
