Childrens tv just isn’t the same nowadays. As a child I loved:
The raggy dolls
Barney- the dog not the dinosaur
Gran
Kissyfur
Jungle run
The tribe

What Programmes did you love?

Takes from Fat Tulips Garden with Tony Robinson - it was hilarious. There was Lewis Collins the tortoise, Fred the Baddy, Gilbert Harding the sheep. He must have been on something! 😁

Oh – The Littlest Hobo!
I'd be in tears every week as he trotted off into the sunset again.

Record Breakers

As we used to sing (dm used to laugh but never correct us)
"Medication's what you need, if you want to be a record breaker!"

Puddle lane.

There was a book series too but I don’t know which came first

Maid Marian and her Merry Men
The Girl from Tomorrow
Watt on Earth
And one nobody remembers and I can't find anywhere- Knight School, with Roger Lloyd Pack as a teacher in a medieval school. I loved that.

When I was younger, Pigeon Street, Mosschops and Orm and Tweet!

RaskolnikovsGarret · 21/01/2022 16:58

No one ever remembers my programmes -

Picturebox
Paperplay
The Enchanted Castle
You and Me
The Children of Fire Mountain
Jigsaw
Vision On

I think I’m too old.

JuergenSchwarzwald · 21/01/2022 16:59

Bod
Mary Mungo and Midge - loved the mouse sitting on the dog's head to press the lift button
Kizzy

and a schools programme called Look and Read - the one about the peregrine falcons being stolen, the children in it were Jackie, Trevor and Butch. There was a another one called the Boy from Space (which people said was ripped off by the 2021 JL Xmas ad) but it wasn't as good as the one about the falcons

RaskolnikovsGarret · 21/01/2022 17:00

Forgot Black Beauty - competes with Littlest Hobo for best/most emotive theme music ever.

devildeepbluesea · 21/01/2022 17:02

Oh yes Heidi! I still remember the theme tune so well.

Rentaghost and Grange Hill are both on BritBox!

feellikeanalien · 21/01/2022 17:09

Screen Test
Blue Peter
Black Beauty
Flashing Blade
Crackerjack
Magic Roundabout
Banana Splits
The Partridge Family
Double Deckers

bendmeoverbackwards · 21/01/2022 17:09

@RaskolnikovsGarret I think I remember Picturebox. Wasn’t it a schools programme? It had a lavish looking jewellery box type thing that opened with the titles?

AlexDrake1981 · 21/01/2022 17:10

Button moon
Bric-a-brac
Chock-a-block
Bagpuss
The flumps
No 73

The Bagthorpe Saga
Roobarb and Custard
Scooby Doo
Worzel Gummidge

OliveHenry · 21/01/2022 17:36

@Thoosa

What was the one on BBC I’m which the presenter would drive on in a tiny primary coloured buggy wearing a boiler suit (and hard hat?) and then insert a boxy looking video cartridge thing into a big primary coloured machine with a screen and big push buttons? I can hear the tune in my head , but can’t place the title or the words. The music seems to have a “ch-ch-ch” element to it and I think it was always or sometimes presented by someone called Carol with a shaggy 80s hairdo.
I think this was Chock-A-Block
Vapeyvapevape · 21/01/2022 17:40

Has anyone mentioned HR Puff n Stuff ?

Vapeyvapevape · 21/01/2022 17:42

Oh and Belle and Sebastian, White Horses and Follyfoot .

Toddlerteaplease · 21/01/2022 17:54

For some reason I was walking around my house singing the Whizzbit theme tune this morning!

Toddlerteaplease · 21/01/2022 17:57

@BogRollBOGOF we used to go to Belton a lot. We were so chuffed when we visited one day and Helen Cresswell was signing books. I found moon dial on YouTube a few years ago. It was just as good as I remember.

wizzler · 21/01/2022 18:02

Pipkins
Hectors house
Boris the Bold
Josie and the Pussycats
Finger bobs
