Usually it’s all very run of the mill but there’ve been a couple of interesting ones today, The latest one is a post asking if anyone knows why M & S chicken pies have pork in them. I’m off to read the replies and to learn more :)

I had never heard of this until I got a letter through the door yesterday telling me it was a thing in my area. I thought it was a scam so it was promptly filed in the recycling bin. I might actually have a nosy on it.

OhM8 · 20/01/2022 18:09

Ours sometimes (often) gets quite argumentative but I've just checked and today it's all requests for recommendations for plumbers, decorators, oil service folk and a tree surgeon

It can be really useful Estara for things like recommendations for tradesmen, or for knowing about dodgy happenings in your neighbourhood. Mostly though it's endless posts about missing cats or complaining about local roadworks or some such.

Someone announced they are leaving because there's too many posts every day.

Wendyer · 20/01/2022 18:17

There was a post on ours earlier today from someone warning people not to use a taxi firm because when their vehicles were moving the doors locked! Cue many people saying that a) the firm had been around for 20 plus years and were reputable, and b) most cars these days have locks that engage when they're in motion or going at a certain speed.

Oh yes, I think we've had that too!

There's currently a heated debate on whether someone should get a booster jag. I had to unsubscribe as the whole site is so annoying.

PoodleKaboodle · 20/01/2022 18:21

I saw that one earlier @Wendyer but I can’t find it now!

I've unsubscribed, jeesus, way too many emails about absolute shit. Also, it's called Neighbourhood yet the stuff on there is definitely not that local, eg people posting from a town 20 minutes away. In my neck of the woods that is total not part of what I would consider to be my neighbourhood.

IsThisNameTaken · 20/01/2022 18:26

Just checked mine and was expecting to find a lost cat post, but no .... it was a lost dog post instead!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 20/01/2022 18:27

The usual mix of handymen for ikea furniture, cleaners wanted/available etc.
Disappointingly the post I only got to read part of earlier where local taxi company had posted an official reply to someone who's written a scathing review/complaint post appears to have gone.
I think the most interesting is debate in a town 20 mins away over which is the bigger eyesore recent local graffiti or tesco (that has been there for ages)

Best post ever today - someone asking us to keep an eye out for their robot vacuum cleaner, which has "escaped" while she left the front door open! 😂

i have the chicken pie one! u must be local to me!

Lennybenny · 20/01/2022 18:48

Someone posted a picture of some flytipping and put the what 3 words location and on a local byway on instead of an actual location. A woman pointed out that not many know about or use what 3 words and she got several mansplaining posts about the app... turns out the local byway wasn't actually near our town and came under the next towns council. The original poster was getting arsey about being asked to put an actual location...🤦🏾‍♀️

The rest have been about the town councillors and a different route into town because of a road closure and recommendations for taxis, cleaners and takeaways...

FFSjustLTB · 20/01/2022 19:04

My furniture that I'm selling.. You've just reminded me to put it on. Never put anything on before that wasn't free, so we'll see how this goes Smile

Beats a missing cat! You absolutely must find out where her hoover got to! I wonder if she’ll put posters up asking if anyone has seen it!

An incredibly long post about how amazing the NHS is.

I was surprised to find it wasn't the usual picture of a perfectly healthy, well-fed looking cat with a message saying 'Has somebody lost there cat? It's been in my garden every day this week. I think its lost'.

BlackberrySky · 20/01/2022 19:18

@Wendyer I am hanging on for the offer of a reward!

Latest on mine is a weird advert, telling us all to “sign up if we’re ready to live ourselves, if we love someone special enough to take THE STEP..!” Scroll down and it’s the local Slimming World! Seriously it’s a huge essay about love and hope and all that bollocks 🤣

Squirrelsbizaare · 20/01/2022 19:50

Person that thinks it's Facebook and keeps posting endless rubbish jokes (sexist, ageist, xenophobic) Because of complaints now prefixes them with 'if easily offended scroll by'. Tedious.
One post that sticks in my mind, was a poster asking in Autumn last year, if anyone had any leaves. Erm.. . Look outside matey.

MrsGHarrison87 · 20/01/2022 19:52

Someone's 80 year old mother dealt with a very rude staff member in a pharmacist today.
