Usually it’s all very run of the mill but there’ve been a couple of interesting ones today, The latest one is a post asking if anyone knows why M & S chicken pies have pork in them. I’m off to read the replies and to learn more :)

Ours has been bonkers, this week. Some good stuff going on but also a couple of nasty trolls and a violent thug who has been caught out scamming people.

One lost cat reappeared the next morning.

@RoyTroyAndChris

An incredibly long post about how amazing the NHS is.

I was surprised to find it wasn't the usual picture of a perfectly healthy, well-fed looking cat with a message saying 'Has somebody lost there cat? It's been in my garden every day this week. I think its lost'.

And me!!! We either live close by (well within 10+ miles as someone else said) or the NHS are on positive sales mission 😄

It did counteract a very negative one the other week so I'll go with the first option!

SummerSazz · 20/01/2022 20:13

Oh and someone wants a free tumble drier.....

Willowwarble · 20/01/2022 20:39

Someone has been posting about dog poo outside her house all week culminating in threat to secretly film and publicly shame them today. There have been a huge amount of photographs of random far away fields posted by people who got a drone for christmas. We also have a healthy population of pendants who correct the spelling and grammar in posts, today someone took offence as a poster had written " me & my sister" instead of "my sister & I" which apparently was very rude.

Winnerwinnerveggiedinner · 20/01/2022 20:45

We have a lot of posts about the proposed new estate.

Winnerwinnerveggiedinner · 20/01/2022 20:54

A few months ago someone posted some cctv footage showing a pedestrian sidling up to a garden and cutting the flowers! Cue lots of outrage (understandably) and appeals as to the identity of the snipper. The drama continued for twenty four hours when a suspect was apprehended - a local florist, no less. With previous form!

marriednotdead · 20/01/2022 20:55

Ours is usually full of missing cats, people posting footage from their Ring doorbells having parcels nicked off of their doorstep or cars broken into. Today's latest is about a man with MH issues assaulting passers by Sad

MrsCremuel · 20/01/2022 21:03

Bins bins bins. Bins stolen, bins mucked about with by school kids, bins not collected, bins collected and not put back properly, bins not as good as they used to be.

And endless streams of people introducing themselves. ‘I’m Kevin from (insert location) and I’ve lived here for so and so years and like so and so hobby’. So, so many.

LBOCS2 · 20/01/2022 21:05

Catalytic converter thefts, lots of people complaining about planning permission for flats.

Thisisit2022 · 20/01/2022 21:10

Another cat one, obviously.

Locomelon · 20/01/2022 21:58

It's always about bins, dog poo, or missing cats that probably aren't missing at all.

WhatDidISayAlan · 20/01/2022 22:00

The best one was one I saw from a woman who got sick of taking her dog to the vet to have its anal glands squeezed and could someone come to the house and do it because she “just couldn’t”.

I think yours sounds the most interesting so far! I’m glad the scammer got caught, Latest on ours this morning is about a scam email.

Shock. The nerve of him:her! I would be secretly proud though I think if a florist thought anything growing in my garden was worth nicking!

I hope your healthy population of pendants were able to shed some light on the grammatical errors … Grin

Photo of someone nicking post from a flat's communal lobby, missed bin collections, someone trying to locate their missing parcel by sharing a blurry picture of someone else's front door step, and someone requesting a recommendation for someone to convert their 2 ponds into a swimming pool!! We get everything here Grin

SoupDragon · 21/01/2022 09:09

A Christmas cracker type joke by someone who clearly thinks they are an amazing comic.

SequinnedShawl · 21/01/2022 10:49

Recommend me a vet that won't charge the earth.

About 3 posts up from same person recommending acrylic nails because "they only charge £30 for infills every 4 weeks"

Obviously nails mean more than her pets. Hmm

SequinnedShawl · 21/01/2022 10:51

Plus one of the Leads on there regularly posts xenophobic, racist or sexist jokes with the comment "scroll by if you have no sense of humour" Hmm

Sallycinnamum · 21/01/2022 11:04

Boys throwing chips at a driving instructor's car. He wasn't sure which school they attend so now we've got dozens of photos of blazers so he can identify the school so he can ring the Head.

Figmentofimagination · 21/01/2022 11:15

I got a letter through the post the other day asking me to join. The local FB group is bad enough and I can at least mute that. Not going to join next door as well.

I bet yesterdays posts were all about the power cut we had in the night and all the alarms going off because the backup batteries have died, and last nights posts will be about the lampposts not being on from sunset till about 11pm because of the earlier power cut. Because that was the main posts on FB.

SoupDragon · 21/01/2022 11:30

I have muted everything on Next Door apart from "security alerts" or whatever they call them. I only read about the latest stolen Land Rover/catalytic converter (complete with Ring doorbell footage) if I go on the app to look.

UpTheLaganInABubble · 21/01/2022 12:15

Dog poo, 'missing' cats that always turn up, a firearms find in local woody area, and endless posts raving about a local guy who valets cars. With the odd 'suspicious person' description post thrown in

BettyfromBristol · 21/01/2022 12:25

I haven't checked but almost certainly it will be the amount of mud on the roads from the lorries associated with the new estate being built.

If it is not that it will be a cat, either lost or found (and always completely fine).

Seeline · 21/01/2022 12:28

Oh yeh - I love the suspicious person descriptions!

'Male, tall, dark hoody, white trainers' - oh yes I know who that is I'll report to the police straight away Hmm
