Interestingly after yesterday's greek word (which my Mum is still confused about ) my third try was a Scots word. The list of acceptable guesses is much bigger than the list of solutions but presumably at some point the NYT will have to start using the 'acceptable guess' list as possible solutions.

We must have used the same penultimate guess. I wasn't entirely sure it was a word, to be honest, although when I googled it was what I thought it should mean.

I liked it when it was easier, this is just a little bit too tricky for my brain which takes the fun out of it

I had to cheat and look up possible words with the letters I’d found and eliminated. I’ve never heard of today’s word and had to look it up.
