Well if you're down to your last guess for example you have _RING and there are letters left that will make a word ( i.e B or W ) but you enter the 'wrong' ones it's annoying. I like word games, I'm not a mind reader!

I know what you mean! Perfectly illustrated in this screenshot of a game I played a few weeks ago. (Not the daily Wordle, a different website).

I found today really tough! And I was just entering random combination wondering if they were a word or not

I've had two goes-one letter in right place, one letter in wrong place.

No idea where to move the letter in wrong place to!

No inspiration for next word at all!

Goodness-just got it on the 4th go.

Third go-complete guess & all correct apart from first letter!

With my 2nd guess I used a letter that my first guess had told me wasn't in the word

It's annoying when you get a perfectly valid word after 2 or three goes- just not the one wordle is thinking of. You should be able to have it in those cases I think!

But that's where tactics come in. In the example that someone gave where the word was GRA_E, don't just cycle through the possible missing letters, try a completely different work such as CAVED. This tries out three of the possibilities for the missing letter in one go.

Yes good advice, but wouldn’t have helped me today, for example. I was lucky and got last two letters first guess, and then the last four letters second guess, but then had to try a range of first letters, and all those different letters wouldn’t have made a word. So I know what @DedalusBloom means.

Almost impossible to illustrate until I can post today’s example after midnight, though. So much depends on your own journey through it.

I was lucky and got last two letters first guess, and then the last four letters second guess, but then had to try a range of first letters, and all those different letters wouldn’t have made a word. So I know what DedalusBloom means.

So when you got the last two letters in your first word, did you then try putting them into your second word? I almost always use a completely different set of letters for my second word, even if I have got some right in the first word.

I sometimes do this. Based on what letters I got especially if I want to check if other vowels or commonly used letter are involved

Depends what they are. Today I had the final two letter diphthong but all the wrong vowels, so keeping the last two letters and trying out different vowels in other words made sense.

Of course you’re right that it is unusual to get greens but no yellows first time.
