Has anyone else not had covid?

Just wondering how many others have managed to avoid it. My husband had it before Christmas and I was doing daily LFTs / had a PCR but didn’t catch it somehow, not really sure how as we weren’t really distancing

I haven't and I have kids going to college, 2 different schools, nursery and 2 different jobs.

We were even in very close contact for hours with someone who tested positive 2 days later.

I'm sure our time will come though.

MedusasBadHairDay · 14/01/2022 16:30

My family have avoided it somehow. Not convinced our luck will hold out though. Known so many friends and family catch it the last couple of months, more than at any other time during the pandemic.

Bellyups · 14/01/2022 16:31

Me.
I have been relatively careful, although not OTT. Still doing things etc. Double vaxxed. DH had it last year before vaccines and no one else caught it in the household. We didn’t socially distance as by the time it was confirmed positive we thought there wasn’t much point

I haven't. I've been pretty darned careful, but my teenagers have just done what teenagers do - and they and DP all use public transport regularly.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 14/01/2022 16:33

Me, my 2 DC 11 & 14 and my immune suppressed DH. I am a frontline NHS nurse too. All vaccinated now. I can't believe bit.

Hemingwayzcatz · 14/01/2022 16:33

I thought we’d dodged it till early December. Really weirdly DH said ‘don’t you think it’s weird none of us have tested positive yet?’ Then later that day DD tested positive. I followed suit a few days later, as did two toddler DS’s. DD caught it at school, can’t be helped. DH didn’t get it, nor did other two DC.

WeAllHaveWings · 14/01/2022 16:44

dhs and I have quite large extended families with some working outside of home and kids on buses to schools and nurseries and there is only 2 who have had it. Both were in 2020, my mum caught in hospital and SIL had an outbreak in the care home she works in.

The same with work colleagues, only know of 2 in UK (one just tested positive today!). Quite a few colleagues in India have had it.

ds was in a car with a friend for 3 hours - face to face talking to each other - the week before Christmas, his friend tested positive that night, ds did a LFT every other day for the following 10 days and nothing.

UnicornPoopsRainbows · 14/01/2022 16:48

I thought once face masks weren’t mandatory in England I would catch it. I haven’t and I’m really surprised.

ItsSnowJokes · 14/01/2022 16:48

Myself and husband haven't had it (and this is confirmed by covid antibody blood tests every 3 months) we are currently quadruple vaccinated (trial participants) but only in the past 11 weeks have had the final 2 vaccines.

Our daughter had it in the summer but we never caught it from her. Maybe we are super immune for whatever reason!

pointythings · 14/01/2022 16:48

To the best of my knowledge I haven't had it - tested negative for antibodies during the first lockdown and after, then got vaxed as soon as I could (which was early as I work for the NHS). Kept on distancing, mask wearing and hand washing even once restrictions were lifted, got boostered.

But given that Omicron manifests differently and I have had a cold, I may have had it even though my LFTs have been negative. I might also at some point have had it asymptomatically.

poorchurchmouse · 14/01/2022 16:49

Me, unless I had it without symptoms before tests were freely available. Not being careful at all, I do everything I’m legally allowed to do as soon as I’m allowed to do it.

Havilland · 14/01/2022 16:50

Never ha d it, don’t have any family or friends or friends of friends and do not know of anyone who has a friend or family member that has had it.

Never met a person/stranger who has had it either.

MirandaWest · 14/01/2022 16:51

As far as I know I haven’t had it. Nor has anyone else in the house.

Leftbutcameback · 14/01/2022 16:52

My OH, despite going to work a lot of the time where they’ve had quite a few cases, and living with me when I was positive! (Although not a lot of symptoms)

amusedbush · 14/01/2022 16:54

None of my family have had it, somehow. We all live in different areas, some working from home, some going out to work throughout the pandemic, but none of us have caught it.

I know loads of people who have it (some were incredibly ill and one friend is disabled due to long covid, it has triggered a neurological condition and she now walks with a stick) and omicron has ripped through my friends and acquaintances but not my family.

TrivialSoul · 14/01/2022 16:57

Dh had it last year but me and the DC have all avoided it so far. We have been careful but not obsessive and both DC have been close contacts of +ve people a couple of times but haven't caught it so far.

ChocolateRiver · 14/01/2022 16:58

I haven’t had it (at least that I know of) but don’t know how I’ve avoided it though. I’ve been in contact with loads of people who have had it - Dh, ds and my mum. Plus I’m a secondary school teacher so I’ve been surrounded by it in school. Dd also hasn’t had it. She’s only 6 so no vaccine but she’s avoided it so far. She didn’t even get it when her brother did.

alloalloallo · 14/01/2022 16:59

I’m going to jinx myself now, but neither DH, DD2 or I have had it as far as we know.

DD1 has had it - but she’s away at Uni so not living at home at the time.

None of the rest of my family or DH’s family have had it, only 1 set of close friends have had it and only 2 colleagues.

We all had an absolute stinker of a cold in December - but all tested negative (LFT and PCR - I actually had 2 PCRs as I felt so completely lousy I wasn’t convinced the first negative was right)

We’ve all had our jabs and boosters and can’t say we’ve been particularly careful. We went to a music festival in September, have been to pubs and restaurants, used public transport, we’ve worked the whole way through, DD2 was at school and now college

etc

StandardPoodle · 14/01/2022 17:00

Neither DH nor I have had Covid, but we are triple vaccinated and are very careful as he is CEV.

Professionallytorn · 14/01/2022 17:03

Neither DH or I have. We have been very careful, and regularly take LFT tests. I did WFH for a year at Covid's height thankfully.

Mabelface · 14/01/2022 17:03

My son who lives with me caught it on new years eve which was the first time he'd been out in ages. We're both pretty hermit like, so that was pretty bad luck. I'm still avoiding it, even though he's still getting positive tests 8 days on. I've friends and family who have caught it. No one has been really ill though.

Mydogisagentleman · 14/01/2022 17:04

Neither me nor my triple vaccinated DH have had it. I work in a nursing home where a number of people died.
Dd on the other hand, has had it three times. She’s at university and went in hard with the partying!

mydogisthebest · 14/01/2022 17:06

I haven't had it and neither has DH.

Both my parents died of it last year and me and DH spent over a week looking after my mum (we didn't know she had it at first). We had to help her in and out of bed, pick her up when she fell in the bathroom so both got very close to her.

When she went in the ambulance I hugged her for ages.

Both my siblings and their partners have some health issues so they only visited mum and dad for a short while and wore masks and gloves the whole time. They all got it.

Dee03 · 14/01/2022 17:10

I haven't had it....both my young adult sons did though, last august and I work in a care home and we have had 2 outbreaks of it there.

ghostmouse · 14/01/2022 17:11

I think I had in the first wave in 2020. This was before tests and lft. I had all the symptoms, lost taste and smell and felt awful for weeks. In fact we all had it.

But I’ve dodged it since, everyone’s had it in work apart from 6 of us. Not sure why
