Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

WHO can honestly say that he wasn't consulted about this non party party !!
.. it's his own fucking garden. He is the PM!
If it hadn't been lockdown , so what , party on .

But .. It was a LOCKDOWN with different rules all together , made by the people who were out buying wine up the local shops !
You really cannot defend any of this at all !
It's beyond defense, one hundred percent

AllThePogs · 12/01/2022 18:19

People often organise parties in my garden I know nothing about and don't recognise as a party when I wander out there.

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 18:20

Andrew McDonaldd @9andrewmcdonald
Update on this from scanning Twitter and asking some of those yet to say anything yet: believe 21 of the Scottish Tories' total 31 MSPs have now called for Boris Johnson to resign

jgw1 · 12/01/2022 18:21

I think it is possible that we are overlooking quite an important part of the meetings that are held in the garden, which appear to be a common occurrence. (Not the parties, but the meetings). Why are so many meetings in our seat of government are in a garden or on sofas? Quite simply because they do not want them to be formally minuted and for them to be subject to potential freedom of information requests.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/01/2022 18:22

@the80sweregreat

I'd love to see Boris Johnson in a pair of plastic tits doing the conga! Can you imagine? I'd love Dom or someone to have this photo I really would .. it's unlikely , but what a golden ticket it would be for someone! It would Pay off their mortgage no doubt.
Grin But he'd only argue that they were WORK tits.

It's easy done isn't it ? 😂 My garden is tiny , it's full up with four people !! Plus I'd hear them too.
the80sweregreat · 12/01/2022 18:23

Work tits!!
Oh yes, they were only on for a ' focus group '

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 18:24

Minutes of meetings do seem to get lost frequently with this lot

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 19:00

Oh dear we now have a tory political broadcast, more lies

Tillymintpolo · 12/01/2022 19:04

Tip of a very big iceberg, they’ve been laughing at us the whole time

SpindleyCrow · 12/01/2022 19:28

One of Carrie and Henry Newman's gender-woo focus groups no doubt, situated in the liminal zone between (in)sanity and spondoolicks.
romatheroamer · 12/01/2022 19:39

Heard Conor Burns on the World at One and Greg Hands just now on Ch4 News (I know, I know who they?) Gawd , these Tory MPs defending Johnson are tossers. I'm not sure "I've known him a very long time" is such a good thing to say. You must be a bit thick then if you didn't know what he was like.

PartyOnKale · 12/01/2022 22:09

Glad that Douglas Ross, leader of the Scottish Conservatives has called for Johnson's resignation.

Itstheprinciple · 12/01/2022 22:23

That Tesco Metro near Downing Street must do a roaring trade.

This made me Grin
DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 22:40

@PartyOnKale

Glad that Douglas Ross, leader of the Scottish Conservatives has called for Johnson's resignation.
A senior Scottish Conservative MSP has told @BBCNewsnight this evening that every single one of the 31 Tory MSPs in the Scottish Parliament back Douglas Ross in his call for the Prime Minister to quit.
Notonthestairs · 12/01/2022 22:48

I read that Douglas Ross had a 15 minute phone call with Johnson and during that asked for assurances from that there was nothing else to come out - those assurances weren't forthcoming.

rrhuth · 12/01/2022 22:49

Preston just said not all the attendees worked in Downing Street.

rrhuth · 12/01/2022 22:50

Peston (FFS autocorrect)

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 22:50

I saw that somewhere earlier, some were working for Gove?

Frazzled2207 · 12/01/2022 22:53

Yes. Carrie’s chums
Tealightsandd · 12/01/2022 22:57

Hope some on here will donate to the food banks, homeless shelters, charity collection pot for the newly disabled Long Covid sufferers, and pauper funeral costs when Silent But Deadly Twelve Homes Sunak takes over.

You think things are bad now, you ain't see nothing yet.

Meanwhile barely a peep from the press today on the huge number of people being killed by Covid in just one day. Nearly 400 yesterday. They'll be many more (described as a stable 'low') under Twelve Homes.

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2022 22:59

Found Peston's tweet

I am told that in the garden drinking at the 20 May party with Carrie Johnson were two special advisers who were then working in the Cabinet Office for @michaelgove, and did not work in Downing Street. They were Henry Newman and Josh Grimstone. I have put this to Downing St
but they are not commenting. The point is that the argument this was a purely No 10 work event is much harder to sustain when outsiders there, with the PM's spouse. I assume Sue Gray will pursue this

Tealightsandd · 12/01/2022 22:59

@AllThePogs

Loved the MPs all laughing at Johnsons inability to recognise a party when he sees one.
I don't love that they're more concerned with political agendas than taking mitigations against huge numbers of people being killed and disabled by Covid and Long Covid.
BashStreetKid · 13/01/2022 00:50

Sajed Javid was visibly struggling to handle questions about the party on Peston this evening, and he's normally pretty articulate.
