What’s DH coming home with?

Troublesometooth · 09/01/2022 14:15

Sent DH to Aldi with a list of about £40 worth of food.

It’s just pinged on my banking app that he has spent £84! He will be home in ten minutes…

Any guesses what he is coming home with?

I’m going for some sort of middle aisle electric saw that will sit in the shed for the next 10 years unused!

I bet there's a cat polisher hidden in the garage. I want one.

I once mistakenly sprayed my cat with furniture polish instead of flea spray. He had a lovely shiny coat for weeks.

That is disappointing OP, my money was on a child's wetsuit and a hedge strimmer....

Tobleroney · 09/01/2022 17:23

Cat teepee

gamerchick · 09/01/2022 17:28

He also has a random habit of buying 2 of everything for no reason! So he remembered cereal was on the list, and bought 2 boxes of the same type, 2 bags of penne, 2 packs of spaghetti! Apparently this will “help me out” because next time I shop I won’t need to buy as much (but will need to remember which usual shopping items he bought 2 of last time so I don’t need!)

My husband does this as well. I call him Noah.

DustyMaiden · 09/01/2022 17:29

Buy chocolate covered macaroons, it’s the best thing they do.

CharSiu · 09/01/2022 17:37

DH will buy multiples of what is on offer if they are small items he is a bugger for condiments. We have 10 jars of cranberry sauce currently.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 09/01/2022 17:40

Use an app called AnyList. It makes shopping so much easier.

guffaux · 09/01/2022 17:42

what a let-down - LTB for his lack of imagination and being unable to embrace 'the random' Grin

5YearsLeft · 09/01/2022 17:46

No canoe? No cat polish? No stunt kite? NO AIR FRYER?!

My very first ever LTB.

BoodleBug51 · 09/01/2022 17:52

I'm so gutted it wasn't a cat polisher.

I was all ready to go out and adopt a cat in preparation.

hivemindneeded · 09/01/2022 18:04

@Troublesometooth

So sorry everyone, he came back on time but then he was obviously so exhausted from his shopping trip he couldn’t possibly put any of it away, or entertain the kids tor the last hour!

Well it turned out to be nothing exciting at all! He lost the list and so “used his initiative” meaning I’ve got a full weekly shop of stuff I didn’t need and don’t have cupboard space for!

Sorry to disappoint you all! It really wasn’t exciting at all!

Love, you need to go and check the garage. What's he stored in there?

No laminator then Sad

I want a laminator Sad

I love my laminator.... it's A3 size
stayathomer · 09/01/2022 18:11

I hate apple crumbles too and hate that they're so loved, it means I have to fake my way through a slice at least twice a yearGrin. Out of all the kids I know, it seems to be a love hate thing, have seen kids jump for them at school days out etc, while others say they detest them. 2 of my kids would eat a full one if they weren't stopped, the other two nearly cry when they see them!

Isseywith3witchycats · 09/01/2022 18:11

they have kitchen goods this week so he is bringing you an air fryer and soup maker

Just realised I posted on the wrong post, sorry!Blush

RachAnneKirl90 · 09/01/2022 18:14

Oh no:
"He used his initiative".

Words that make my blood run cold. My DH went to the supermarket after Christmas as we needed some staple foods, and "used his initiative". He came back with 15 camemberts in pottery dish things - all at the "eat by" date, two loves of clearly stale bread and an ancient French stick a yard long, and 4 cans half price of lager (we don't drink and never have).

I am not a fan of him "using his initiative"

That made me giggle out loud, and the dog gave me a very funny look!

iklboo · 09/01/2022 18:28

What on Earth is a cat polisher?!

Ericaequites · 09/01/2022 18:28

I don’t need a cat polisher. The cat is the only self cleaning thing in this house.

TheNestedIf · 09/01/2022 18:36

Is it only me who initially misread "laminator" as "terminator"? I mean, it's possible in that aisle, right?

I posted about mine doing the same thing, a few pages back. Why buy 2 bottles of orange squash, when six, or 3 very large ones, is sooo much better?! etc etc He once bought 24 tubs of ice cream. I kid you not. Had to throw out the last 6, as after two years, he hadnt quite managed to get through them all.
